2. Detailed requirements and additional information
2.1. Recommended language skills
The sending institution, following the agreement with our institution, is responsible for providing support to its nominated candidates so that they can have the recommended language skills at the start of
the study or teaching period.
The general Italian language requirement is set at B1 level*; however we remind, that different language requirements may be requested by specific Departments and therefore listed in the single interinstitutional agreements.

2.2. Additional requirements
Incoming students:
Integration activities: Welcome Days, tutoring, Italian courses (offered at least at beginners and intermediate level).
Services for students with special needs, as classrooms furnished with screen readers, Braille readers, Braille tactile embosser, touch-screen computers, scanner/readers, speech recognition system.

2.3. Calendar
2.3.1.
Nomination Deadlines for Partner Universities
Applications/information on students nominated must reach our institution by:
Autumn term
May – to be confirmed by official mail to Partner Universities year by year
Spring term
November - to be confirmed by official mail to Partner Universities year by year
2.3.2.
Nomination
Within 4 weeks from the nomination deadline, the University of Trieste will send an e-mail directly
to the students with important information on enrollment procedures, housing services and similar
issues.
2.3.3.
Transcripts of Records
The receiving institution commits to provide the sending institution and the student with a Transcript
of Records within a period not longer than five weeks after publication/proclamation of the student’s
results at the receiving institution.
2.3.4.
Termination of Agreement
Any unilateral or bilateral decision to discontinue or modify the exchanges will be notified to the
other party by 1 September 20XX and it will only take effect as of 1 September 20XX+1.

4.1. Grading system
In the Italian system, for all programmes/modules the passing grade is 18/30 and the top grade is
30/30. All grades below 18/30 are failing grades

According to the Italian Ministerial Decree nr. 270/2004, paragraph 5, 1 CFU credit corresponds to
25 hours of personal workload for the student. The average per-year personal workload for a full
time student is conventionally fixed at 60 credits. Credits for each academic activity is gained by the
student only when he/she passes an exam or another kind of learning evaluation.

4.3. Insurance
According to the requirements of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, insurance cover is the
responsibility of the mobile participant. In cases in which insurance cover is not automatically provided, the University of Trieste will inform and assist mobile participants.
We will inform incoming students/staff of cases in which insurance cover is not automatically provided.

4.4. Housing
The University of Trieste will support incoming mobile participants in finding accommodation on the
private market by providing websites offering rooms/flats on rent, associations offering accommodation and/or ESN service. Only few rooms are available at the Students hostel for students coming
from non EU countries. Availability of rooms may be subject to change year by year.
In the Academic Year 2014/15 an additional housing platform for exchange students will be available
on our website.
