reflected on the object’s surface, rendering
the perception of the shape ambiguous.
Designing silver does not simply signify designing
a form but a support for the reflected images,
capable of liberating the material’s infinite and
unexpected expressive richness.
For years now De Vecchi has innovated the silverware tradition
through its own personal creative design language, based on the
reflective qualities of the material itself.
Various products have been created over the years that reflect light
and the surrounding environment, in such a way that the sequences of
the mirror-like images render the objects mobile, in continuous
evolution.

shorter and the free spaces more contained, the design broadens
progressively as thickness and spiral,

welcomes objects and images within

the utmost in this container collection. Ere are concave mirrors, left free to sway so that the
reflected images are in continuous movement.
The container’s surface becomes perturbed and
absorbs the object it holds, melting and
transforming it into an unconfined image.
Common shapes are reproposed for their capacity to
originate varied and different contours that in turn
offer rich and unpredictable effects through the
images reflected in their surfaces.
La luce dell’argento e le sue qualità riflettenti sono
esaltate al massimo grado in questa collezione di
contenitori. Ere sono come specchi concavi, lasciati
liberi di dondolare in modo che le immagini riflesse
siano in continuo movimento. La superficie del contenitore viene perturbata
dall’oggetto che accoglie, fondendosi con esso
e trasformandosi in una macchia senza confini.

The different products, made by the best Italian craftsmen,

“Tancredi&Bartolomeo” è la linea “art de la table”
disegnata da Giulio Iacchetti per DeVecchi Milano 1935.
I diversi oggetti, realizzati da maestri artigiani italiani,
formano un’originale famiglia in cui vive una combinazione
armonica di diversi materiali, dalla ceramica al legno, dal
vetro al metallo argentato.
Informale nella “mise en place”, senza rinunciare

The traditional water carafe and glasses
are reinterpreted through a functional
and elegant design. The water glass is reduced to its essential function to contain
water, it reminds us of the simplicity of the
Venetian goto. The wine glass becomes a
whole,
bringing together the stem and the cup in
a unique form. The base of the carafe is
wider in order to use it also as a
decanter for wine.
Le tradizionali tipologie del bicchiere e
della bottiglia di vetro sono
ridisegnate in forma funzionale ed
elegante. Il bicchiere acqua ridotto alla
sua funzione essenziale di raccoglitore
d’acqua, ricorda la semplicità del goto
veneziano. Il bicchiere del vino diventa
una forma unica che incorpora il gambo
e la coppa. La base della bottiglia si

Vases made of DeVecchi SILVER PLATED of which
their shape was created thanks to the expansion
of water within them: when they reach a
temperature of 273 k, the 0° centigrade, according
to the Kelvin scale, solidifies, increases in volume
and emits an energy that creates aesthetic
unthinkable elaborations.
Each piece in the collection is unique, its shape
cannot be planned, even though it comes from
the same object and following the same process.

grazie all’espansione dell’acqua al loro interno:
quando raggiunge la temperatura di 273 k,

Sottovetro talks about the magic of
transparency, a solid body that appears and
disappears when crossed by light, and it combines it
with the magic of silver, coherent with the De Vecchi
philosophy (Language of Mirrors), in Which the surface of silver ambiguously transforms the perception of forms by reflecting images and
colours of the surrounding.
Sottovetro ci parla della magia della trasparenza,
un corpo solido che c’è e non c’è perché è attraversato dalla luce, e utilizza la magia dell’argento secondo la “filosofia”
De Vecchi, per cui la superficie dell’argento,
che riflette le immagini e i colori dell’ambiente
circostante, rende ambigua e sempre mutevole
la percezione della forma.

The Sottovetro collection plays with the
tradition of keeping silver closed in a
glass cupboard in the dining room (sottovetro in Italian means "under glass").
Also in these objects silver is kept safe. It
can be seen but not touched. It can be carried around
while reflecting light in various
directions.
Sottovetro gioca con la tradizione di
tenere gli argenti chiusi nelle vetrine del
mobile della sala da pranzo (oltre che
sottovetro si potrebbe dire
sottochiave). Anche qui l’argento è
sottochiave, lo si vede e non lo si
tocca. Però lo si porta in giro, e
portandolo in giro le gocce
d’argento oscillano riflettendo la
luce in varie direzioni.
