Welcome to the Ambrit International School Spring Dinner and Auction! This annual event is
the largest fundraiser of the year for the school’s parent-teacher organization Friends of Ambrit, and
is a great opportunity for the whole school community to get together for a night of both socializing
and supporting school programs. This year, the auction will take place amidst the lush gardens,
gazebo and grounds of Parco Iris, on the Appian Way.
The evening of the auction will begin at 7 p.m. with cocktails, to the accompaniment of a string
quartet. A buffet dinner will follow, and the live auction will begin shortly after 9.30 p.m. with a range
of items up for bidding (see enclosed list for more details). There will be a dj and open bar throughout
the evening. In addition to the live auction, there will also be a silent auction. When you arrive at
Parco Iris, you will need to check in and will receive a numbered card that you can use for bidding on
items in the silent auction. (You may also bid with your name, if you prefer.) There will be a variety of
silent auction items on display in the gazebo. During cocktails and dinner, please walk around to look
at these items. If you would like to bid on an item, write your number (or name) on the bidding sheet
that is next to the item and write the amount that you would like to bid for it. Return often to the items
you would like to win, to make sure that you keep placing the highest bid. The silent auction will end
shortly after the end of the live auction. When the close of the silent auction is announced, whoever
has written the highest bid on the bidding sheet for each item wins that item. If you have bid on
something but are not sure whether you were the last and highest bidder, don’t worry: we will contact
you after the auction if you have won an item.
All proceeds from the auction benefit projects for the students of Ambrit International School.
With all of the projects we fund, we try both to fulfill a specific need and to enhance the educational
atmosphere of the school. Ten percent of proceeds will also be donated to Associazione Peter Pan
(www.peterpanonlus.it), an 18-year old onlus that first began with a home near Bambin Gesù hospital
to provide housing for parents from out of Rome with children undergoing cancer treatment in hospital
(there is now a home near Policlinico Umberto I, as well).
Please remember that the auction’s success depends on your participation that evening - you
are welcome to invite your non-Ambrit friends for what will be a special night out in Rome - and on
donations from businesses, Ambrit families, faculty, staff and friends to provide a large range of items
for bidding. We need everyone’s help to make this a money-raising event for the benefit of the
children. Donors may supply us with their business information and the school will list it on the Bel
Paese web page (http://www.ambrit-ome.com/belpaese/belpaese.html) linked to the Ambrit website,
with a blue ribbon as distinguished supporters of the school. If you wish to donate an item, please

Tickets may be purchased by filling in the attached RSVP form and returning it with your
payment to the bursar’s office in the RSVP box. Wire transfers are also accepted, and a convenient
one-click credit card payment option is available. If you cannot make the auction but wish to make a
donation to Friends of Ambrit, you may use the attached donation form.

Benvenuti alla Cena di Primavera e Asta di Beneficenza dell’Ambrit International School!
Quest’avvenimento annuale é la principale occasione per la raccolta di fondi da parte
dell’associazione genitori-insegnanti Friends of Ambrit, oltre ad essere un’ottima opportunità per la
comunità di Ambrit di ritrovarsi, divertirsi e, così facendo, sostenere i programmi della scuola.
Quest’anno si terrà tra i giardini lussureggianti e lo spazioso gazebo del Parco Iris, sull’Appia Antica.
La serata avrà inizio alle 19.00 con l’aperitivo, accompagnato da un quartetto d’archi. Seguirà
una cena a buffet. L’asta con battitore inizierà intorno alle 21.30 e comprenderà un’ampia scelta di
articoli (vedere l’elenco in allegato). Ci sarà un DJ e ‘open bar’ per tutta la serata. Oltre all’asta con
battitore, per buona parte della serata avrà luogo un’asta silenziosa. Al vostro arrivo a Parco Iris, vi
verrà assegnato un numero da utilizzare per le vostre offerte per i vari articoli dell’asta silenziosa (in
alternativa potete anche scrivere il vostro nome.) Potrete scegliere tra un vasto assortimento di
articoli che rimarranno esposti nel gazebo per tutta la serata. Durante l’aperitivo e la cena, potrete
dare uno sguardo ai vari articoli. Per fare un’offerta, basterà scrivere il proprio numero (oppure nome)
sul foglio delle offerte accanto all’articolo di vostro interesse e l’importo che vorreste versare. Tornate
spesso agli articoli che v’interessano per controllare se sia necessario rilanciare con un’altra offerta.
L’asta silenziosa si chiuderà dopo la fine dell’asta con il battitore. Alla chiusura dell’asta silenziosa,
per ogni articolo, la persona che avrà scritto l’offerta più alta relativa a un articolo si aggiudicherà
quell’articolo. Se avete fatto un’offerta ma non siete sicuri di aver vinto, nessuna preoccupazione: vi
contatteremo in seguito per concordare la consegna dell’articolo aggiudicato.
Tutti i proventi dell’asta andranno a beneficiare i progetti a favore degli studenti della Scuola
Ambrit. Con tutti i progetti che finanziamo, cerchiamo di soddisfare sia una necessità specifica sia di
arricchire l’offerta formativa della scuola. Inoltre, il dieci percento dei proventi verrà donato
all’Associazione Peter Pan (www.peterpanonlus.it), che ha creato una casa accanto all’ospedale
Bambin Gesù per accogliere i genitori costretti dalla malattia dei propri figli a lasciare la propria
abitazione per curarli a Roma (l’associazione ha creato un’altra casa nelle vicinanze del Policlinico
Umberto I).
Il successo dell’asta dipende dalla vostra partecipazione all’evento. Alla stessa potrete invitare
amici esterni alla comunità Ambrit. Il successo e la varietà dell’asta dipendono anche dagli oggetti
donati dalle aziende, dalle famiglie, dal personale e dagli amici di Ambrit. Chi desidera realizzare una
donazione per l’asta potrà includere i dettagli della propria azienda sulla pagina Bel Paese del sito
Web Ambrit (http://www.ambrit-rome.com/belpaese/belpaese.html), dove il nome del donatore verrà
contraddistinto da un fiocco blu. Se avete qualcosa da donare, fatecelo sapere il prima possibile

I biglietti per la serata possono essere acquistati compilando il modulo RSVP in allegato, e
consegnandolo insieme al pagamento nell’apposita scatola FOA presso l’ufficio del Bursar. Inoltre,
sono accettati bonifici bancari (gli estremi sono sul modulo RSVP) e carte di credito (su richiesta vi
sarà inviata una mail con l’opzione per pagare tramite Paypal). Se non potete partecipare alla serata
ma desiderate sostenere Friends of Ambrit con una donazione, potete utilizzare il modulo donazioni.
