Additions and enhancements have been made to the functions of the machine. After reading this
notification, store it with the manuals for your machine.
The availability of the functions described in this notification may vary depending on the machine
configuration and on the version or settings of the software such as printer drivers. For more information,
contact your local authorized Canon dealer.

Changing the Language on the Display
You can change the language displayed on the touch panel display.
The number of available languages has increased to 33.

Auto Clear Time
If the machine remains idle for a certain period of time, the display returns to the default top screen
or the top screen of the selected function. This period of time is called the “Auto Clear Time.”
The Auto Clear Time can be set to between 10 and 50 seconds (in ten second increments), in
addition to the already available setting range of zero (Off ) and one to nine minutes (in one minute
increments).
(numeric keys) cannot be used to enter values. Press [-] or [+] to select the
setting.
• To disable the Auto Clear Time setting, select <0> → press [OK].
• For more information on the Auto Clear Time setting, see Chapter 3, “Configuring the Machine’s Basic
Settings,” in the Reference Guide.

Setting the Secure Printing Function
Secure Printing enables you to hold your print jobs until the appropriate password is entered at the
machine. This way, confidential documents are not left lying on the machine’s output tray.
Set the timeout period (or hold time) for the secure print jobs so that they can be automatically
discarded from the machine’s memory after the timeout period elapses. You can also set the machine
to accept only the secure print jobs when documents are printed from a computer.

To make changes to the System Settings, enter the System Management mode. For details, see “Operating the
Machine in System Management Mode,” in the System Settings Guide.
The default settings are as follows:
- Delete Timeout: 60 minutes
- Only allow secure print jobs: Off

Displaying an Alert Message When the Available Memory
Gets Low
This mode shows you an alert message on the touch panel display when the memory consumption
of all jobs such as printing, copying, and sending reaches a certain level. The memory consumption
level that triggers an alert message can be specified to your preference, in units of percentage. This
helps you confirm the amount of memory consumed when the message appears and avoid using up
memory unnecessarily.
This setting is available only when <Only allow secure print jobs> in <Secure Print Settings> is set to ‘On’. (See
“Setting the Secure Printing Function,” on p. 6)
The default setting is ‘80%’.

[On]: Displays an alert message when the memory consumption reaches the level to be specified in the
next step. Press [OK] → go to the next step.
[Off ]: Does not display an alert message even if the available memory gets low. Press [OK] → go to step 5.

Press [ ] or [ ] to decide the memory consumption level for an alert
message → press [OK].
Press [ ] to decrease the memory consumption level (minimum: 60%) or press [ ] to increase it
(maximum: 95%). Each press of [ ] or [ ] decreases or increases the level in five percent increments.
The setting values (60 to 95%) are a rough indication and do not always correspond to the actual
memory consumption; even if an alert message appears, there may be enough memory left to be
used.

Updates Regarding the Printer Drivers

This section describes the updates regarding the printer drivers, such as a change of one of the
default settings and the printer drivers for Macintosh.
The Default Setting of the Printer Driver
The print style default setting of the printer driver included in the CD-ROM enclosed with this
machine is 2-sided printing.
Printing from a Mac Computer
To print from a Mac Computer, you must install the printer driver and set up the printer configuration
using the Mac printer driver.
The Mac OS driver may not be included in the supplied CD-ROMs. For more information, contact your local
authorized Canon dealer.
■ System Requirements
The following system environments are necessary in order to use the printer driver.
• Operating Systems:
Mac OS X 10.4.9 and later
• Computer:
Any computer that runs the above systems
• Memory:
Any memory with the capacity required to operate the compatible operating systems
Supported operating systems may differ according to the printer driver version you are using.

• Features of the Printer Driver
UFR II Printer Driver:
Using the UFR II printer driver, the various data processing tasks conventionally executed within the printer
are appropriately divided between the host PC and the printer to greatly reduce the overall printing time.
The workload can be delegated to match the output data, thus realizing a significant increase in speed
through optimization.
UFRII LT also uses UFR II technology to process the majority of print data in the host PC, enabling high-speed
printing.
PS Printer Driver:
The PS printer driver converts print data from applications into data for use with PS printers, and sends it to
the printer.
As well as converting print data, it can also enable you to configure settings relating to finishing and detailed
settings such as color adjustment, and provides an appropriate print environment for desktop publishing
and publishing on demand.

The name of the folder containing the installer and installation guide may vary depending on the
type and version of the printer driver.

Printing Securely from a Computer

Secure Printing
Secure Printing enables you to securely print confidential documents (print data). You assign a
password and send them to the machine from your computer. To print out these documents, you
need to enter the appropriate password at the machine.
• We recommend that the printer driver is installed through a network.
• To use the Secure Printing function, connect the machine and computer via a network.
• If you cannot select [Secured Print] for [Output Method], display the [Device Settings] sheet and select the
[Allow Use of Secured Print] check box.
Printing methods may differ depending on the application you are using. For details, see the instruction
manuals provided with the application.

Troubleshooting
You may experience problems while operating the machine. Take a minute to see if there is a simple
solution to your problem before contacting your local authorized Canon dealer.
The machine won’t accept my secure print job.
Cause
The job is discarded because the machine has run out of available memory.
Remedy 1
Cancel other jobs, or wait until those jobs are finished, and then send the job again.
Remedy 2
Divide the document into two or more parts, or reduce the resolution, and then try again.

The message <Memory near full. Process jobs (Secure Print, etc.)> appears on the
touch panel display.
Cause
The machine’s memory consumption has reached the preset level that triggers an alert message.
Remedy 1
Print out the secured document by entering the appropriate password. If there are any other jobs,
wait until they are finished.
Remedy 2
Adjust the memory consumption level that triggers an alert message. (See “Displaying an Alert
Message When the Available Memory Gets Low,” on p. 9.)

■ The following error codes have been added:

Cause
Documents could not be forwarded to the specified destination because there is insufficient
memory available. The machine can store up to total of 71 jobs of send and transmission report in
memory.
Remedy
Delete unwanted jobs from memory or wait until these jobs are complete, and then try again.
# 0853
Cause
A print job sent from a computer via a printer driver is canceled since <Only allow secure print
jobs> is set to ‘On’.
Remedy 1
Set <Only allow secure print jobs> to ‘Off’, and then send the job again.
Remedy 2
Assign a password to the job, and then send it again.
■ The following has been added to error code # 0099:
# 0099

Cause 2
A secured print job was automatically canceled after the timeout period elapsed.
Remedy
Try printing again if necessary. For instructions on how to change the timeout period, see “Setting
the Secure Printing Function,” on p. 6.

The Memory Media Settings in the System Settings, which was available only on the machine’s
control panel, can now be specified both on the machine’s control panel and on the Remote UI (in
the System Manager mode).

Délai de retour au mode standard
Si l’imprimante demeure inactif pendant un certain temps, l’affichage revient à l’écran supérieur
par défaut de la fonction sélectionnée. Ce laps de temps porte le nom de « Délai de retour au mode
standard ».
Vous pouvez régler ce délai de retour au mode standard dans une plage allant de 10 à 50 secondes
(par incrément de dix secondes) ou appliquer les réglages déjà disponibles, à savoir zéro (Non) et la
plage d’une à neuf minutes (incrément d’une minute). Le clavier
(touches numériques) ne
peut pas être utilisé pour saisir de valeurs. Appuyez sur [-] ou [+] pour définir le réglage.
REMARQUE
• Pour désactiver le délai de retour au mode standard, sélectionnez <0> → appuyez sur [OK].

Réglage de la fonction Impression sécurisée
La fonction Impression sécurisée permet de suspendre des travaux d’impression jusqu’à ce que le
mot de passe approprié soit saisi au niveau de l’imprimante. Ainsi, les documents confidentiels ne
restent pas à la vue de tous dans le bac de sortie de l’imprimante.
Définissez le délai d’attente (ou temporisation) associé aux travaux d’impression sécurisée de sorte
qu’ils soient automatiquement effacés de la mémoire de l’imprimante à l’issue de ce délai. Vous
pouvez également définir l’imprimante pour qu’elle n’accepte que les travaux d’impression sécurisée
envoyés par un ordinateur.

Affichage d’un message d’alerte en cas de mémoire
disponible insuffisante
Ce mode présente un message d’alerte sur l’afficheur tactile lorsque la consommation de mémoire
de l’ensemble des travaux (impression, copie et envoi) atteint un certain niveau. Vous êtes libre
de définir ce niveau déclenchant le message d’alerte selon un pourcentage. Cette fonction
permet d’indiquer la quantité de mémoire consommée à l’affichage du message et d’éviter une
surconsommation inutile.

Ce réglage est disponible seulement si <Autoriser uniquement tâches impr. séc.> dans <Réglages d’impr.
sécurisée> est défini sur ‘Oui’ (voir « Réglage de la fonction Impression sécurisée », p. 6).

Cette section décrit les mises à jour relatives aux pilotes d’imprimante, telles que la modification de
l’un des réglages par défaut et les pilotes d’imprimante pour Macintosh.
La configuration par défaut du pilote d’imprimante
Le réglage par défaut du style d’impression inclus dans le CD-ROM fourni avec l’imprimante est
l’impression recto-verso.
Impression à partir d’un Mac
Pour imprimer à partir d’un Mac, vous devez installer le pilote d’imprimante et définir la
configuration de l’imprimante à l’aide du pilote d’imprimante Mac.
Il est possible que le pilote Mac OS ne figure pas sur les CD-ROM fournis. Pour plus d’informations, contactez
votre revendeur Canon agréé.

• Fonctions du pilote d’imprimante
Pilote d’imprimante UFR II :
Le pilote d’imprimante UFR II présente l’avantage de répartir les diverses tâches de traitement des
données (habituellement exécutées au sein de l’imprimante), de façon optimale, entre l’ordinateur hôte
et l’imprimante de manière à réduire la durée d’impression globale. Le fait de pouvoir déléguer la charge
de travail en fonction des données de sortie à traiter permet d’optimiser la vitesse d’impression, de façon
significative.
UFRII LT recourt également à la technologie UFR II pour traiter la majorité des données d’impression sur
l’ordinateur hôte, ce qui permet une impression à très grande vitesse.
Pilote d’imprimante PS :
Le pilote d’imprimante PS convertit les données d’impression issues des applications en données utilisables
par les imprimantes PS et les envoie à l’imprimante.
Outre la conversion des données d’impression, le pilote permet également de configurer les réglages liés
à la finition ainsi que les réglages détaillés tels que le réglage des couleur ; il fournit un environnement
d’impression approprié pour la publication assistée par ordinateur et la publication à la demande.

L’impression sécurisée permet d’imprimer des documents confidentiels (données d’impression). Vous
pouvez attribuer un mot de passe et les envoyer à l’imprimante à partir de votre ordinateur. Pour
imprimer ces documents, vous devez saisir le mot de passe qui convient.
• Il est recommandé d’installer le pilote d’imprimante sur un réseau.
• Pour utiliser la fonction d’impression sécurisée, reliez l’imprimante à l’ordinateur par le biais du réseau.
• Si vous ne pouvez pas sélectionner [Imp. sécur.] comme [Mode de sortie], affichez la page [Réglages du
périphérique] et cochez la case [Autoriser l’utilisation de l’impression sécurisée].

d’examiner s’il existe une solution simple à votre problème avant de contacter votre revendeur
Canon agréé.
L’imprimante n’accepte pas mon travail d’impression sécurisée.

Cause
Le travail est ignoré car l’imprimante ne dispose pas de mémoire disponible.
Solution 1
Annulez les autres travaux ou attendez la fin du traitement des travaux, puis renvoyez le travail.
Solution 2
Divisez le document en plusieurs parties ou réduisez la résolution, puis recommencez l’opération.
Le message <Mém. quasi pleine. Traiter tâches (Impr. séc., etc.)> apparaît sur
l’afficheur tactile.
Cause
La mémoire de l’imprimante a atteint la limite prédéfinie qui déclenche un message d’alerte.
Solution 1
Imprimez le document sécurisé en saisissant le mot de passe adéquat. S’il existe d’autres travaux,
attendez la fin de leur traitement.

Ajustez la limite de consommation de la mémoire déclenchant un message d’alerte (voir
« Affichage d’un message d’alerte en cas de mémoire disponible insuffisante », p. 9.)

Zeit bis zur automatischen Rückstell.
Wenn sich das System eine bestimmte Zeit lang im Leerlauf befindet, kehrt das Display zum
Standardhauptbildschirm oder zum Hauptbildschirm der ausgewählten Funktion zurück. Dieser
Zeitraum wird als „Zeit bis zur automatischen Rückstell.“ bezeichnet.
Die Option „Zeit bis zur automatischen Rückstell.“ kann, neben dem bereits verfügbaren
Einstellungsbereich Null (Aus) und ein bis neun Minuten (in Ein-Minuten-Schritten), zwischen 10 und
50 Sekunden (in 10-Sekunden-Schritten) eingestellt werden.

Einstellen der Funktion „Geschützter Druck“
Mit der Funktion „Geschützter Druck“ können Sie Druckaufträge anhalten, bis das entsprechende
Passwort beim System eingegeben wurde. Auf diese Art liegen nicht vertrauliche Dokumente im
Ausgabefach des Systems herum.
Stellen Sie den Timeout-Zeitraum (oder die Haltezeit) für die geschützten Druckaufträge ein, sodass
diese automatisch im Systemspeicher verworfen werden können, nachdem der Timeout-Zeitraum
verstrichen ist. Sie können das System auch so einstellen, dass nur geschützte Druckaufträge
angenommen werden, wenn Dokument von einem Computer gedruckt werden.

In diesem Modus wird eine Warnmeldung im Sensordisplay angezeigt, wenn der Speicherverbrauch
aller Aufträge, wie Druck-, Kopier- und Sendeaufträge, ein bestimmtes Niveau erreicht. Der
Grad der Speicherbelegung, der eine Warnmeldung auslöst, kann nach Ihren Vorstellungen in
Prozenteinheiten festgelegt werden. So können Sie den belegten Speicher überprüfen, wenn die
Meldung angezeigt wird, und belegen nicht unnötigen Speicher.

Änderung einer der Standardeinstellungen, sowie die Druckertreiber für Macintosh.
Die Standardeinstellung des Druckertreibers
Die Druckstil-Standardeinstellung des Druckertreibers, die auf der CD-ROM im Lieferumfang dieses
Systems enthalten ist, ist der doppelseitige Druck.
Drucken über einen Mac-Computer
Um über einen Mac-Computer zu drucken, müssen Sie den Druckertreiber installieren und die
Druckerkonfiguration mit dem Mac-Druckertreiber einrichten.
WICHTIG
Der Treiber für Mac OS ist möglicherweise auf den mitgelieferten CD-ROMs nicht enthalten. Ausführliche
Informationen erhalten Sie von Ihrem autorisierten Canon-Händler vor Ort.

• Funktionen des Druckertreibers
UFR II-Druckertreiber:
Mit dem UFR II-Druckertreiber werden die verschiedenen Datenverarbeitungsaufgaben, die im Allgemeinen
beim Drucker ausgeführt werden, zwischen dem Hostcomputer und dem Drucker aufgeteilt, um die
Gesamtdruckzeit zu verringern. Die Arbeitslast kann delegiert werden, damit sie den Ausgabedaten
entspricht, sodass durch eine Optimierung eine bedeutende Geschwindigkeitserhöhung erzielt wird.
UFRII LT verwendet auch UFR II-Technologie, um den Großteil der Druckdaten beim Hostcomputer zu
verarbeiten, wodurch ein Hochgeschwindigkeitsdruck möglich wird.
PS-Druckertreiber:
Der PS-Druckertreiber wandelt Druckdaten von Anwendungen in Daten zur Verwendung mit PS-Druckern
um, und sendet sie an den Drucker.
Der Drucker wandelt nicht nur die Druckdaten um, Sie können damit auch Einstellungen in Bezug auf die
Endverarbeitung und umfassende Einstellungen wie die Farbanpassung konfigurieren, und er bietet eine
entsprechende Druckumgebung für Desktop-Publishing und Publishing on Demand.

Geschützter Druck
Durch Geschützter Druck können Sie vertrauliche Dokumente (Druckdaten) sicher ausdrucken.
Sie weisen ihnen ein Passwort zu und senden sie über den Computer an das System. Um diese
Dokumente auszudrucken, müssen Sie beim System das richtige Passwort eingeben.
WICHTIG
• Wir empfehlen, den Druckertreiber über ein Netzwerk zu installieren.
• Zur Verwendung der Funktion „Geschützter Druck“ verbinden Sie das System und den Computer über ein
Netzwerk.
• Wenn Sie [Geschützter Druck] nicht für [Ausgabeverfahren] auswählen können, rufen Sie die Seite
[Geräteeinstellungen] auf und aktivieren Sie das Kontrollkästchen [Verwendung von Geschützter Druck
zulassen].

Störungsbeseitigung
Während der Bedienung des Systems kann es zu Problemen kommen. Nehmen Sie sich etwas
Zeit, um zu überprüfen, ob es eine einfache Lösung für Ihr Problem gibt, bevor Sie sich an einen
autorisierten Canon-Händler vor Ort wenden.
Das System nimmt den Geschützten Druckauftrag nicht an.
Ursache
Der Auftrag wird verworfen, weil das System keinen verfügbaren Speicher mehr hat.
Lösung 1
Brechen Sie andere Aufträge ab oder warten Sie, bis diese Aufträge abgeschlossen sind, und
senden Sie den Auftrag dann erneut.
Lösung 2
Teilen Sie das Dokument in zwei oder mehr Teile oder reduzieren Sie die Auflösung, und
versuchen Sie es dann erneut.

Die Meldung <Sp.beinahe voll. Aufträge verarb.(Gesch.Druck usw.)> wird im
Sensordisplay angezeigt.
Ursache
Der Speicherverbrauch des Systems hat das voreingestellte Niveau erreicht, das eine
Warnmeldung auslöst.
Lösung 1
Drucken Sie das geschützte Dokument aus, indem Sie das entsprechende Passwort eingeben.
Wenn noch andere Aufträge vorliegen, warten Sie, bis diese beendet sind.
Lösung 2
Passen Sie den Grad der Speicherbelegung an, der eine Warnmeldung auslöst. (Siehe „Anzeigen
einer Warnmeldung, wenn der verfügbare Speicher gering ist“ auf S. 9.)

Übertragungsvorgängen im Speicher speichern.
Lösung
Löschen Sie nicht benötigte Aufträge im Speicher oder warten Sie, bis diese Aufträge
abgeschlossen sind, und versuchen Sie es dann erneut.

Ursache
Ein Druckauftrag, der von einem Computer über einen Druckertreiber gesendet wurde, wird
abgebrochen, da <Nur Geschützte Druckaufträge zulassen> auf ‚Ein‘ gesetzt ist.
Lösung 1
Setzen Sie <Nur Geschützte Druckaufträge zulassen> auf ‚Aus‘, und senden Sie den Auftrag dann
erneut.
Lösung 2
Weisen Sie dem Auftrag ein Passwort zu, und senden Sie ihn erneut.

Tempo azzeramento automatico
Se la macchina rimane inattiva per un determinato periodo di tempo, il display torna alla schermata
superiore predefinita oppure alla schermata superiore della funzione selezionata. Questo periodo di
tempo è definito “Tempo azzeramento automatico”.
È possibile impostare il Tempo azzeramento automatico su un valore compreso tra 10 e 50
secondi (con incrementi di dieci secondi); questa impostazione si aggiunge alla gamma dei valori
impostabili già disponibile: zero (Off ) o da uno a nove minuti (con incrementi di un minuto). (tasti numerici) non possono essere utilizzati per inserire valori. Premere [-] o [+] per selezionare
l’impostazione.

Impostazione della funzione Stampa protetta
La funzione Stampa protetta consente di conservare i lavori di stampa finché nella macchina non
viene inserita la password appropriata. In questo modo si evita che documenti riservati vengano
lasciati nei vassoi d’uscita della macchina.
Impostare un intervallo di tempo (o un periodo di conservazione) per i lavori di stampa protetta
per eliminare automaticamente i lavori di stampa dalla memoria della macchina una volta trascorso
l’intervallo o il periodo impostato. È possibile anche impostare la macchina in modo che accetti solo
lavori di stampa protetta quando i documenti sono stampati da un computer.

Visualizzazione di un messaggio di avviso quando la
memoria disponibile si riduce eccessivamente
Questo modo consente la visualizzazione di un messaggio di avviso sul pannello digitale quando
il consumo di memoria da parte di tutti i lavori - di stampa, di copiatura e di invio - raggiunge
un determinato livello. Il livello di consumo di memoria che attiva la visualizzazione dell’avviso
può essere specificato dall’utente in percentuale. Questa funzione aiuta a verificare la quantità
di memoria consumata quando il messaggio viene visualizzato, nonché a evitare un utilizzo non
necessario della memoria.

L’impostazione predefinita degli stili di stampa del driver di stampa inclusa nel CD-ROM in dotazione
con questa macchina è stampa fronte-retro.
Stampa da un computer Mac
Per stampare da un computer Mac, è necessario installare il driver di stampa e impostare la
configurazione della stampante utilizzando il driver di stampa Mac.
IMPORTANTE
Il driver Mac OS potrebbe non essere incluso nei CD-ROM in dotazione. Per ulteriori informazioni, contattare il
rivenditore autorizzato Canon di zona.

• Funzioni del driver di stampa
Driver di stampa UFR II:
Utilizzando il driver di stampa UFR II, i diversi processi di elaborazione dei dati eseguiti normalmente dalla
stampante sono suddivisi tra il PC host e la stampante; ciò consente di ridurre notevolmente il tempo di
stampa globale. Il carico di lavoro può essere delegato per adeguarsi ai dati di stampa, ottenendo così un
significativo aumento della velocità tramite l’ottimizzazione dei processi.
Il driver di stampa UFRII LT si serve anche della tecnologia UFR II per elaborare la maggior parte dei dati di
stampa nel PC host, consentendo un’elevata velocità di stampa.
Driver di stampa PS:
Il driver di stampa PS converte i dati di stampa provenienti dalle applicazioni in dati da utilizzare con le
stampanti PS e li invia alla stampante.
Oltre a convertire i dati di stampa, consente anche di configurare le impostazioni relative alla finitura e le
impostazioni dettagliate, come la regolazione del colore; inoltre offre un ambiente di stampa adeguato per il
Desktop Publishing e il Publishing on demand.

Stampa protetta
La funzione Stampa protetta consente di stampare documenti riservati (dati di stampa) garantendo
la massima sicurezza. È possibile assegnare una password e inviare i documenti alla macchina dal
computer. Per stampare questi documenti, è necessario inserire la password corretta nella macchina.
IMPORTANTE
• Si raccomanda di installare il driver di stampa tramite una rete.
• Per utilizzare la funzione Stampa protetta, collegare la macchina e il computer attraverso una rete.
• Se non è possibile selezionare [Stampa protetta] per [Metodo di stampa], visualizzare la pagina [Impostazioni
periferica] e selezionare la casella di controllo [Consentire uso stampa protetta].

I metodi di stampa possono risultare diversi a seconda dell’applicazione in uso. Per ulteriori informazioni,

Risoluzione dei problemi
Durante il funzionamento della macchina è possibile che si verifichino problemi. Prima di contattare
il rivenditore autorizzato Canon di zona, si raccomanda di verificare se è possibile trovare soluzioni
semplici a tali problemi.
La macchina non accetta il lavoro di stampa protetta.
Causa
Il lavoro viene annullato perché la macchina non dispone più di memoria disponibile.
Rimedio 1
Annullare altri lavori o attendere che tali lavori vengano terminati, quindi inviare nuovamente il
lavoro.
Rimedio 2
Dividere il documento in due o più parti oppure ridurre la risoluzione, quindi riprovare.

Il messaggio <Mem.quasi esaur. Elab.lav. (Stampa protetta, ecc.)> viene
visualizzato sul pannello digitale.
Causa
Il consumo di memoria della macchina ha raggiunto il livello predefinito che attiva la
visualizzazione del messaggio di avviso.
Rimedio 1
Stampare il documento protetto inserendo la password appropriata. Se sono presenti altri lavori,
attendere finché non sono terminati.
Rimedio 2 Regolare il livello di consumo della memoria che attiva la visualizzazione del messaggio di avviso.

Causa
Non è possibile inoltrare i documenti alla destinazione specificata perché la memoria disponibile è
insufficiente. La macchina può memorizzare fino a 71 lavori di rapporti di trasmissione e invio.
Rimedio
Eliminare i lavori non necessari dalla memoria o attendere che questi lavori vengano terminati,
quindi riprovare.
# 0853
Causa
Un lavoro di stampa inviato da un computer tramite un driver di stampa viene annullato perché la
funzione <Consent. solo lavori stampa protetta> è impostata su ‘On’.
Rimedio 1
Impostare <Consent. solo lavori stampa protetta> su ‘Off’, quindi inviare nuovamente il lavoro.
Rimedio 2
Assegnare una password al lavoro, quindi inviarlo di nuovo.

Tiempo de autoborrado
Si el equipo se mantiene inactivo durante un determinado periodo de tiempo, aparecerá la pantalla
principal predeterminada o la pantalla principal de la función seleccionada. Este periodo de tiempo
se denomina “Tiempo de autoborrado”.
El Tiempo de autoborrado puede establecerse entre 10 y 50 segundos (en incrementos de diez
segundos), además del intervalo de opciones ya disponible de cero (Off ) y uno a nueve minutos (en
incrementos de un minuto). Las teclas numéricas
no pueden utilizarse para introducir valores.
Pulse [-] o [+] para seleccionar la opción.

Ajuste de la función Impresión segura
La función Impresión segura le permite retener sus trabajos de impresión hasta introducir la
contraseña correcta en el equipo. De este modo, los documentos confidenciales no se quedarán en
la bandeja de salida del equipo.
Ajuste el tiempo de espera (o el tiempo de retención) para los trabajos de impresión segura de forma
que puedan eliminarse automáticamente de la memoria del equipo una vez transcurrido el tiempo
de espera. Asimismo, puede configurar el equipo para que solo acepte los trabajos de impresión
segura cuando los documentos se impriman desde un ordenador.

Visualización de un mensaje de alerta cuando está a punto
de agotarse la memoria disponible
Este modo le muestra un mensaje de alerta en la pantalla del panel táctil cuando el consumo de
memoria de todos los trabajos, como impresión, copia y envío, alcanza un determinado nivel. El nivel
de consumo de memoria que activa el mensaje de alerta puede especificarse según sus preferencias,
en unidades de porcentaje. Este modo le ayudará a consultar la cantidad de memoria consumida
cuando aparece el mensaje, así como a no utilizar memoria innecesariamente.
IMPORTANTE
Esta opción está disponible únicamente cuando <Sólo permitir trab. de impresión segura> de <Opciones de
impresión segura> está establecido en ‘On’. (Consulte “Ajuste de la función Impresión segura”, en la pág. 6)

Opción prefijada del controlador de impresora
La opción prefijada de estilo de impresión del controlador de impresora que se incluye en el CD-ROM
del equipo es impresión a doble cara.

Para imprimir desde un ordenador Mac, debe instalar el controlador de impresora y realizar la
configuración de la impresora utilizando el controlador de impresora para Mac.

Controlador de impresora UFR II:
Mediante el uso del controlador de impresora UFR II, las distintas tareas de procesamiento de datos que
se llevan a cabo tradicionalmente en la impresora se dividen entre el PC host y la impresora para reducir
enormemente el tiempo de impresión total. La carga de trabajo puede delegarse para coincidir con los datos
de impresión, por lo que la velocidad aumenta significativamente a través de la optimización.
UFRII LT también utiliza la tecnología UFR II para procesar la mayoría de los datos de impresión en el PC host,
permitiendo impresiones de alta velocidad.
Controlador de impresora PS:
El controlador de impresora PS convierte los datos de impresión de las aplicaciones en datos que pueden
utilizarse con impresoras PS, y los envía a la impresora.
Así como convertir datos de impresión, también le permite configurar opciones relacionadas con el acabado
y opciones detalladas como el ajuste de color, y proporciona un entorno de impresión apropiado para la
autoedición y la publicación bajo demanda.

La función Impresión segura le permite imprimir documentos confidenciales (datos de impresión) de
forma segura. Puede asignar una contraseña y enviar los documentos al equipo desde el ordenador.
Para imprimir estos documentos, debe introducir la contraseña correcta en el equipo.
IMPORTANTE
• Recomendamos que instale el controlador de impresora a través de la red.
• Para utilizar la función Impresión segura, conecte el equipo y el ordenador a través de la red.
• Si no puede seleccionar [Impresión segura] en [Método de salida], muestre la hoja [Opciones del dispositivo] y

si existe una solución sencilla para su problema antes de ponerse en contacto con su distribuidor
Canon autorizado.
El equipo no acepta mi trabajo de impresión segura.

Causa
El trabajo se rechaza porque el equipo se ha quedado sin memoria disponible.
Solución 1
Cancele los otros trabajos, o espere hasta que finalicen estos trabajos y, a continuación, envíe el
trabajo de nuevo.
Solución 2
Divida el documento en dos o más partes, o reduzca la resolución y, a continuación, inténtelo de
nuevo.
El mensaje <Mem. casi llena. Procesar trab. (Impr. seg., etc.)> aparecerá en la
pantalla del panel táctil.
Causa
El consumo de memoria del equipo ha alcanzado el nivel prefijado que activa un mensaje de
alerta.

Solución
Elimine los trabajos que no desee de la memoria o espere hasta que estos trabajos finalicen y, a
continuación, inténtelo de nuevo.

Causa
El trabajo de impresión enviado desde un ordenador a través de un controlador de impresora se
cancela debido a que <Sólo permitir trab. de impresión segura> está establecido en ‘On’.
Solución 1
Ajuste <Sólo permitir trab. de impresión segura> en ‘Off’ y, a continuación, envíe el trabajo de

Las Opciones del dispositivo de memoria de Opciones de sistema, que solo estaban disponibles en el
panel de control del equipo, ahora pueden especificarse en el panel de control del equipo y en la IU
remota (en el modo Admdor. sistema).
