SCIENTIFIC INTEREST
My primary scientific interest focuses on endocrine, metabolic and nutritional aspects of Obesity.
Moreover, during my research visit as guest researcher in Denmark, I was involved in studying the
effects of a 8-week diet enriched with n-3 PUFA or trans-fatty acid on adipose tissue gene
expression in young healthy subjects.
Since 1997, I have been studying the effect of insulin resistance states such as type 2 diabetes,
obesity, pregnancy on pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, a master switch in energy metabolism, and
the effects of antidiabetic drugs on the complex activity.
Other interest: Central and peripheral resistance to thyroid hormone syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome
I attended many national and international Congress, presenting original abstracts.
I published 7 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 3 national and 4 international.
MANAGEMENT SKILLS
As both inpatient and outpatient physician I am used to work in staff.
As Chief of Medical Service I successfully motivated and manage my staff to perfectly adhere to
medical request coming from approx 1,100 officers and 250 soldiers, varying from general
practitioner tasks and medical examiner issues (i.e.: fitness to military service), to specialist
consultation and most of all emergency first aid during military camps.
As Chief of Resident Staff I managed my younger colleague duties and rotation and continuous
medical education.
As staff physician I was responsible of medical education of nurses and nurse assistants.
As attending physician I was responsible from september 2006 to june 2009 of sheduling medical
work shifts on monthly basis and then co-responsible of CME and responsible for organization of
scientific meetings.

Italian: mother tongue.
English: fluent in writing, reading and speaking.
French: fluent in speaking.
CITIZENSHIP
I am both Italian and French citizen.
PERSONAL
I love traveling, studying history and philosophy, and riding bicycle. I never give up in hard times.
