The deterministic view is overcome by a complex vision of the pathophysiology and the use of therapies is becoming more holistic. This leads to a wider use of nonconventional theories and practices. Non-conventional medicine theories and medical art principles share the same theoretical ground. However we need a scientific breakthrough to better understand the mechanisms of action and to test the effectiveness and safety of medical treatments. The purpose of the Conference is to follow up with the new way of thinking about the application of osteopathic treatment, based mainly on the cooperation between clinical specialists, in particular neurologists, and clinical osteopaths. The common language is high quality scientific research. Neuroscience and osteopathy will merge at the light of latest evidence. The Conference will be organized sessions about input and output neural processing, central elaboration and tools for measuring nervous system activities. The principle and the clinical application of osteopathic medicine will be constantly referred to. The words of Starling give the Conference message milestone: “... only understanding the wisdom of the body that we can comprehend the mystery of diseases and pain. This can allow us to discharge from any responsibility toward the genus Homo” ORGANIZING COMMITTEE Gina Barlafante, Italy Francesco Cerritelli, Italy SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE Francesco Cerritelli, Italy (Chair) Gina Barlafante, Italy Marco Verzella, Italy Lucia Cardinali, Italy Marta Martelli, Italy Luca Cicchitti, Italy Gianfranco Pizzolorusso, Italy Brian Degenhardt, USA Paul Standley, USA Gary Fryer, Australia Rafael Zegarra-Parodi, France Sander Kales, The Netherlands Patrick van Dun, Belgium Steven Vogel, UK Christian Fossum, Norway Stephen Tyreman, UK Florian Schwerla, Germany Christian Lunghi, Italy Marco Petracca, Italy Chiara Arienti, Italy Nicola Vanacore, Italy Zachary Comeaux, USA Vito Adragna, Italy Cinzia Renzetti, Italy Vincenzo Cozzolino, Italy Jorge Esteves, UK SPEAKERS Gina Barlafante Accademia Italiana Osteopatia Tradizionale, Italy Nicola Barsotti SIPNEI, Italy Francesco Cerritelli European Institute for Evidence Based Osteopathic Medicine, Italy Pietro Cortelli University of Boulogne, Italy Vincenzo Cozzolino Accademia Italiana Osteopatia Tradizionale, Italy Brian Degenhardt A.T.
