The Scientific and Organizing Committees cordially invite you to
participate in the International PSE Symposium on
“Phytochemicals in nutrition and health”. The meeting will take
place at Grand Hotel Riva del Sole, Giovinazzo (Bari), Italy, from
the 27th to the 30th of September 2011.

Call for papers
Research contributions (short lectures, posters) related to the
main topics of the Symposium are welcome. All abstracts will
be reviewed by the scientific committee. Registration is
obligatory for acceptance. Instructions for abstracts are
available on the web site.

Publication of Review Papers
Plenary lectures as well as selected oral communications will be
published in a special dedicated issue of Phytochemistry
Reviews. The selection will be done by thy Editorial Board. The
manuscript should be prepared according to the instructions for
authors (http://www.springer.com) and should be submitted to
the organizer after the meeting (deadline November 30, 2011).
Scientific Programme
The Symposium will focus on new developments
phytochemicals role and application in nutrition and health.
Grants
on
Main topics are:
1. Natural sources and chemical structures of nutraceutical
compounds
2. Genetics and metabolic engineering to enhance nutrients and
phytochemicals production
3. Novel analytical developments in the field of nutraceuticals
and phytonutrients
4. Health, Disease and Functional benefits
5. Quality assurance for nutraceutical-based products
6. Regulatory aspects, marketing and related issues
The meeting will consist of plenary lectures (40 min) and
contributed papers in the form of both oral (20 min) and poster
presentations.
A limited number of grants covering the registration fee will be
available for PhD-students registered for the meeting and
presenting either a poster or a short lecture.
