Language - students will: • Revisit story writing techniques • Explore the use of prepositions in sentences • Write for a range of (Including; stories, poetry and instructional texts) • Express points of view about environmental issues • Use research skills including collating and editing to present information • Continue to develop speaking and listening skills through presenting information to an audience Mathematics – students will: • Locate and draw features on a grid using coordinates • Use grid references to locate features on a map • Use the eight point compass to describe position and direction • Explore angles and rotation: use a protractor and mathematical language to describe a turn e.g. 90º anticlockwise • Review written strategies for mathematical operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing) • Apply their understanding of calculations and decimals to solve money problems • Continue to develop strategies in order to solve word problems.
