CHIESA CORSE A UN PASSO DAL PODIO ALLA WINTER CUP

PROTAGONISTA SFORTUNATO
Il pilota canadese, agli esordi nella categoria KF,
nella prima metà del weekend è sempre tra i primi:
11° nella sua prova di qualifica e mai oltre il 10°
posto nelle manche (due volte 5°). In prefinale
parte 15° ma un incidente al via lo obbliga a
ricominciare e chiude 29°. In finale è di nuovo
rallentato dai tanti contatti in pista ed è 22°.

GARA PERFETTA
Il pilota tedesco, che corre con il supporto tecnico
del team Keijzer Racing, fa una gara spettacolare.
8° nella sua prova cronometrata, nelle manche è
fenomenale: dopo una prima gara sfortunata, è 1°
e due volte 3° e si qualifica per le finali al 12° posto
assoluto (su ben 87 concorrenti). Nella prefinale
fa una rimonta eccezionale a suon di giri veloci e
chiude 4°. In finale si ripete e, di nuovo 4°, chiude a
un passo dal podio.
Nikita Mazepin - KF Junior
BRAVO NEL TRAFFICO
In tre delle manche è nella top 10 (4°, 6° e 10°),
mentre nella terza e quarta “paga” per i contatti di
gara, ma chiude comunque con un ottimo 37° posto
assoluto. Per poche posizioni è costretto alla gara di
recupero, dove conquista l’ultima piazza in griglia
per la prefinale. Qui sorprende tutti con una rimonta
spettacolare di ben 11 posizioni (23°). In finale
lotta in mezzo al gruppo e, nonostante i contatti, si
difende bene (24°).
La new entry inglese della Chiesa Corse nelle
manche lotta bene (in 3 delle cinque gare è nella
top 10) e si qualifica 26° assoluto, su ben 88 piloti
al via. Ma in prefinale l’incidente di gara al via
lo mette KO dopo soli tre giri. In finale lotta per
risalire, ma a pochi giri dalla fine è costretto a
lasciare per un contatto.
17° nella prova cronometrata, il pilota rumeno
corre buone manche (due volte tra i primi 10) e si
posiziona 31° in classifica, a un solo posto dalla
griglia della prefinale. Nella gara di recupero fa
bene (11°) ma non riesce a conquistare uno degli
ultimi pass per le finali. Peccato, ma dimostra di
saper lottare con i migliori.

MANCHE DA PRIMO DELLA CLASSE
Il pilota cinese parte bene: 13° davanti al compagno
Florescu nella sua gara di qualifica, nelle manche
raccoglie ottimi risultati (4°, 7° e 13° ), ma in due
delle cinque gare è penalizzato dai tanti contatti in
pista. 41° al conto delle penalità, il suo weekend si
conclude con la gara di recupero dove è 15°.

RALLENTATO DAL GRUPPO

WEEKEND SOFFERTO
Dopo qualifiche difficili, nelle cinque manche il
pilota francese è costretto a inseguire. Al conto
delle penalità è 58° e conquista il ripescaggio
per qualificarsi alle finali. Nella gara di
recupero, però, è costretto a lasciare dopo pochi
giri a causa di un problema tecnico. Avrà modo
di rifarsi.

Anche il pilota francese ottiene ottimi piazzamenti
in tre delle cinque manche (due volte tra i primi 5),
ma, come tanti altri, è rallentato dal traffico nella
seconda e penultima gara. Al 48° posto dopo le
manche, nella gara di recupero fatica a risalire e
non accede alle finali.

CHIESA CORSE A STEP FROM THE PODIUM AT THE WINTER CUP
THE SOUTH GARDA KARTING CIRCUIT IN LONATO HOSTED THE 18TH EDITION OF THE WINTER CUP.
CHIESA CORSE STEPPED ON TRACK WITH 8 DRIVERS IN THE KF AND KF JUNIOR CATEGORIES AND CLOSED A STEP FROM THE PODIUM.

UNLUCKY PROTAGONIST
The Canadian, at his KF debut, is constantly up front
in the first half of the weekend: 11th in his qualifying
session and never past 10th place in the heats (twice
5th). In the prefinal he starts 15th, but an accident at
the start of the race forces him to start all over and he
closes 29th. In the final he is again slowed down by
the many contacts on track and is 22nd.

PERFECT RACE
The German driver, supported by team Keijzer
Racing, runs a spectacular race. 8th in his timed
practice, in the heats he is phenomenal: after a first
unlucky race, he is 1st and twice 3rd and qualifies
for the finals 12th overall (over a grand total 87
competitors). In the prefinal he does an outstanding
recovery, one fast lap after another, and closes 4th.
In the final he repeats the performance and, again
4th, closes a step from the podium.
Nikita Mazepin - KF Junior
GOOD JOB IN TRAFFIC
In three heats he is in the top 10 (4th, 6th and 10th),
while in the third and fourth he “pays” for race
contacts, but he closes anyways with a nice 37th
overall place. By just a few positions, he has to run
the recovery race, where he conquers the last spot
on grid for the prefinal. Here he surprises everyone
with a spectacular charge up 11 positions (23th). In
the final he battles in the middle of the group and,
despite the contacts, defends well (24th).
Chiesa Corse’s new English entry battles well in the
heats (he makes the top 10 in 3 of the five races)
and qualifies 26th overall, out of 88 drivers lined
up at the go. Then the accident at the start of the
prefinal knocks him out after just three laps. In the
final he fights to recover, but he is forced to retire
close to the end due to a contact.
17th in his timed session, the Romanian driver runs
good heats (twice among the best 10) and places
31st in the standings, just one spot short from making
the start grid of the prefinal. In the recovery race he
does well (11th), but he misses his chance at one of
the last available passes for the finals. Too bad, but
he proved he has what it takes to battle with the best.

HONOUR ROLL HEATS
The Chinese driver starts off well: 13th ahead of his
teammate Florescu in the qualifying session, in the
heats he collects great results (4th, 7th and 13th ),
but in two races he suffers from the many contacts
on track. 41st after the heats, in the recovery race he
doesn’t make it past 15th place.

THE PACK SLOWS HIM DOWN

WEEKEND OF STRUGGLE
After troubled qualifyings, in his five heats the
French driver is forced to chase. At the penalties
count he is 58th and makes the repechage
to qualify for the finals. In the recovery race,
however, he is forced to leave the field after a few
laps due to a technical problem. He’ll have his
chance to shine.

The French driver gets excellent placements in three
of his heats (twice in the top 5), but like many others
he is slowed down by traffic in the second and
penultimate races. Standing 48th overall after the
qualifications, in the recovery race he has a hard
time moving up and doesn’t make it to the finals.
