Carissimi cavalieri
è ancora vivo il ricordo del Meeting Internazionale tenutosi a Firenze alla fine del mese
scorso con il quale abbiamo voluto portare la nostra testimonianza nella collettività,
toccando argomenti di grande respiro nello scenario templare e cavalleresco, ma anche
confrontandoci con il mondo accademico e la società civile su scottanti tematiche che
investono il mondo d’oggi. Come l’ ormai pressante problematica dell’integrazione tra le
diverse etnie con uno sguardo particolare su chi è stato meno fortunato di noi. Senza
peraltro dimenticare coloro ai quali sono negati i più elementari diritti, anche quello di un
pezzo di pane, nella società odierna che ormai soffre di un vero e proprio declino
antropologico. E non possiamo constatare ciò inermi quando il nostro nuovo
nuo cammino per
il 2015 partirà proprio dalla grotta di Betlemme , dalla casa del Pane. Il pane che mancò ai
figli d’Israele quando abbandonarono l’Egitto e lo ricevettero a fatica dai figli di Moab e
solo in cambio di vile danaro. Ma poi, tanti secoli dopo,
dopo, la Stella indicò la mangiatoia di
Betlemme e non Gerusalemme dove anche i Magi inutilmente avevano cercato. E nella
Casa del Pane il miracolo della vita entra impetuosamente nel Tempo e nella Storia
dell’Umanità con Cristo che si fa uomo tra gli umili e sceglie il Pane per parlarci di se. E
noi, proprio per i suoi insegnamenti, dobbiamo indirizzare proficuamente la nostra fame,
da desiderio viscerale, in fame di Giustizia, Pace, Fratellanza tra gli uomini ed i Popoli.
Fame di umiltà, fame di essere, donare
donare e mai di apparire in ottemperanza al motto
templare. E proprio in questi momenti di festa ed attesa di Feste, l’affetto più fraterno ed il
nostro pensiero va a quei cavalieri che ci vegliano ed assistono dalle Dimore Celesti ed a
coloro che soffrono o sono in difficoltà. Infine a nome del Consiglio dei Grandi Dignitari e
mio personale auguro a tutti Voi ed alle Vostre famiglie un Buon Natale ed un sereno
2015.

European Templar Meeting 2014: 700 years after the death of Jacques De
Molay.

Talk Show "The Templar attempt: the need of cultural integration in the
modern multi-ethnic society."
The Templar’s historic example was the starting point for dealing with the thorny issue of cultural
integration among the many ethnic groups living in our modern society. The introduction
speaking of Giovanni Pascale was about Templar’s project and practice, launching to guests the
current theme. The host Gianmichele Galassi remember our position as citizens of the Western
world faced with the problem of cultural integration: we must consider our lifestyle so away from
disastrous lived by the majority of the world population; today we are lucky and privileged, but
we should not forget the huge exodus of our ancestors to the wealthiest nations, in the previous
century. Our parents or grandparents leave Italy hoping on a better life, at least serene. Interesting
interventions of the representatives of the York Rite, Emilio Attinà and Tiziano Busca, which show
as in our Rite DNA and, above all, the Templar Commandery there is an openness to other
cultures that necessarily has to be translated into practice, through direct engagement. Then the
moment of Vinicio Serino, anthropologist, which briefly sets the sociological tradition of
integration highlighting some historical examples (illuminating). Mario Ascheri, expert on History
of Law, addresses the issue from his point of view, ending his speech with the belief that effective
cultural integration is impossible; the same view of Fabio Fabbri, which does not see the possibility
of a concrete integration in Islamic culture. Findings have been entrusted by the Grand Master of
the Grand Orient of Italy, Stefano Bisi, who wanted to underline how we must strive hand faced of
migrants to solve the problem, as the mayor of Lampedusa, Giusi Nicolini, admirably did. In
Lampedusa, a small island to south of Sicily, the inhabitants are working and greeting with
brotherly love and charitable spirit the thousands of migrants who defy death in the
Mediterranean sea, coming to a new life in boats of despair.
