“Alberto Musy” Call for Projects - 2014
The Centro Einaudi will make available from December 1st, 2014, a research grant in memory of
Alberto Musy, a distinguished comparative law researcher and professor, fellow of the Centro
Einaudi and member of its Comitato Direttivo (Management Committee).
The grant will be reserved to a young scholar wishing to undertake research projects in one of the
thematic areas, which were specially covered by the academic curriculum of Alberto:

Law, Politics and Culture
Liberal Theory
Economics of Justice
Comparative Law and Economics
Italian Policies and Reforms
Provided the thematic focus is clearly linked to one or more of the above areas, the Centro will
consider proposals adopting different disciplinary perspectives (e.g. law, economics, sociology,
political science – including political theory) and methodological orientations (e.g. theoretical,
empirical, normative). An attention to policy implications will however be particularly
appreciated.
The successful grantee will not be required to take residence in Turin, but he/she will nevertheless
be expected to regularly visit the Centro, participate to its activities and contribute to the Centro’s
publication program (Biblioteca della Libertà, Agenda Liberale, WP of the Laboratorio di politica
comparata e filosofia pubblica). The copyright of these articles is acquired by the Centro Einaudi
and the author agrees the compensation is embedded in the main grant. He/she will also be
required to fully acknowledge the Centro’s grant in the publication of the research results.
A Master degree is required to applicants. The Centro Einaudi will also consider candidates that
will achieve such a degree in the next twelve months. The Centro Einaudi is an equal opportunity

An illustration of the research proposal (max 3.000 words: general topic and object of
research; research aim and questions; methods; expected results; deliverables and timing;
bibliography)
The research project is expected to be carried out in 1 year. The winner of the grant will be
required to report to the Centro Einaudi on the ongoing research project at least on a quarterly
basis. Reports must be mailed to the Centro Einaudi with a length ranging from 3’000 to 10’000
words.
The amount of the grant will be in the range of 10,000-15,000 euros (gross) – depending on
project and seniority.

Successful applications will be selected by a special Commission, appointed by the Comitato
Direttivo of the Centro Einaudi. Short-listed applicants may be invited at Centro Einaudi’s expenses
to a face-to-face or Skype interview.
Selected applicants will be notified by November, 30th, 2014.
