non-hazardous locations only (UL508).
Precautions
Follow these instructions:
• The USB Fip adapter requires 450 mA from the master port. Because of the level
of power needed, do not connect the adapter to an USB-Powered hub.
• On a PC or iPC, install the driver (see the appendix) before plugging the
TSX C USB FIP communication adapter on a PC (or iPC) USB port. If you are
using a Magelis dialog operator, the driver will be downloaded automatically.
• Do not plug the TSX C USB FIP communication adapter if the driver is not
installed.

Thank you for purchasing TELEMECANIQUE TSX C USB FIP communication adapter.
This unit is designed to provide a bridge between a USB connection and a Fipway
Network or a Fipio field bus. It may replace both PCMCIA (TSXFPP20) or ISA card
(TSXFPC10) on a PC, Magelis iPC, and Magelis dialog operator.

The package contains the following items:
• a TSX C USB FIP communication adapter with a pre-connected USB cable
• an Installation guide
• a cable bond to fix the FIP cable on the adapter
Required Items
The following items are required to use the adapter:
• a driver to use the adapter with a PC or the iPC (TSX C USB FIP driver, included
in the CD driver (ref: TLXCDDRV20M V2.5 or higher)).
• a FIP cable (TSX FP CG010 or TSX FP CG030)
Note : The TSX C USB FIP driver for Windows 2000 and XP is included in the driver
pack that you can download from the telemecanique web site. On
www.telemecanique.com, click downloads -> Software/Firmware -> Automation ->
Modicon Premium and select Driver Pack (V2.5 or higher).
Note : Vijeo Designer automatically provides the driver to use the TSX C USB FIP
adapter with a Magelis dialog operator.

Wrong Installation
If you connected the Adapter Before Installing the Driver
If you connect the TSX C USB FIP communication adapter on a PC (or iPC) USB port
before installing the driver, the adapter will not function.
Follow this procedure to make the adapter function normally:
1. right-click on My Computer
2. click Properties
3. select the Hardware tab
4. select Device Manager
5. in Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click on the faulty device
6. select Uninstall
7. when the uninstall is completed, install the driver (see the appendix) and plug the
TSX C USB FIP adapter to a PC (or iPC) USB port.

d'alimentation requis, vous ne devez en aucun cas connecter l'adaptateur à un
concentrateur alimenté par le port USB de l’hôte.
• Sur un PC ou un iPC, installez le pilote (voir annexe) avant de brancher
l'adaptateur de communication TSX C USB FIP au port USB. Si vous utilisez un
terminal de dialogue opérateur Magelis, le pilote est automatiquement téléchargé.
• Ne branchez pas l'adaptateur de communication TSX C USB FIP lorsque le pilote

Merci d'avoir acheté l'adaptateur de communication TELEMECANIQUE TSX C USB FIP.
Cette unité est conçue pour servir de passerelle entre une connexion USB et un réseau
Fipway ou un bus de terrain Fipio. Elle peut remplacer la carte PCMCIA (TSXFPP20)
ou ISA (TSXFPC10) d'un ordinateur, d'un Magelis iPC et d'un terminal de dialogue
opérateur Magelis.
Contenu de l'emballage
• un adaptateur de communication TSX C USB FIP avec câble USB déjà connecté,
• un guide d'installation,
• un collier destiné à fixer le câble FIP sur l'adaptateur.
Eléments requis
Les éléments suivants sont requis afin d'utiliser l'adaptateur :
• un pilote pour pouvoir utiliser l'adaptateur avec un PC ou un iPC (pilote
TSX C USB FIP, fourni sur CD-ROM - référence TLXCDDRV20M V2.5 ou
ultérieure),
• un câble FIP (TSX FP CG010 ou TSX FP CG030).
Remarque : Le pilote TSX C USB FIP pour Windows 2000 et XP est inclus dans le
package pilote que vous pouvez télécharger sur le site Web de Telemecanique. Sur la
page http://www.telemecanique.com/fr/index.htm, cliquez sur Téléchargements ->

Branchement de l'adaptateur avant que le pilote ne soit installé
L'adaptateur de communication TSX C USB FIP ne fonctionnera pas si vous
l'avez connecté au port USB d'un PC (ou iPC) avant d'installer le pilote.
Procédez comme suit pour que l'adaptateur fonctionne correctement :
1. Cliquez à l'aide du bouton droit de la souris sur Poste de travail.
2. Cliquez sur Propriétés.
3. Cliquez sur l'onglet Matériel.
4. Sélectionnez Gestionnaire de périphériques.
5. Dans Contrôleurs de bus USB, cliquez à l'aide du bouton droit de la souris sur
l'équipement défectueux.

Si ha conectado el adaptador TSX C USB FIP al puerto USB de un PC (o iPC) antes de
instalar el controlador, el adaptador no funcionará.
Para que el adaptador funcione normalmente, siga este procedimiento:
1. Haga clic con el botón derecho del ratón en Mi PC.
2. Haga clic en Propiedades.
3. Seleccione la ficha Hardware.
4. Seleccione Administrador de dispositivos.

Precauzioni

Grazie per aver acquistato la scheda di comunicazione TELEMECANIQUE TSX C USB
FIP. Quest'unità è stata progettata per fornire un bridge tra un collegamento USB e una
rete Fipway o un bus di campo Fipio. Può sostituire sia la scheda PCMCIA (TSXFPP20)
sia la scheda ISA (TSXFPC10) di un PC, di un Magelis iPC e di una finestra di dialogo
operatore Magelis.

Installazione errata
Inserimento della scheda prima dell'installazione del driver
Se è stata inserita la scheda di comunicazione TSX C USB FIP nella porta USB di un PC
(o un iPC) prima di installare il driver, la scheda non funzionerà.
Per ripristinare il corretto funzionamento della scheda, procedere come segue:
1. Fare clic con il pulsante destro su Risorse del computer
2. Fare clic su Proprietà
3. Selezionare la scheda Hardware
4. Selezionare Gestione periferiche
5. In Controller USB (Universal Serial Bus), fare clic con il pulsante destro sul
dispositivo non funzionante

This appendix describes how to install the TSX C USB FIP driver on a PC or a Magelis
iPC. This driver will configure the TSX C USB FIP adapter, then the driver will manage
the communication between the Windows application softwares and the equipment on
Fip network or field bus.
This driver is compatible with Windows 2000 and XP.
Note : The TSX C USB FIP driver for windows 2000 and XP is included in the driver

The driver installation is a standard installation, executed from the drivers CD-Rom.
Checking the Driver Settings
Before installing the driver, you should make sure the operating system on the PC or iPC
