ANDREA BECCARO
Current position
Adjunct Professor in International Relations at Scuola Universitaria Interfacoltà di
Scienze Strategiche, Turin.
Education
Between 2008 and 2010 I was a Ph.D. student of Strategic Studies at the University of Turin. On
11th February 2011, I defended my dissertation and completed my Ph.D. with highest honours. My
research field was: transformations of war, irregular warfare (counterinsurgency in particular) and
operation Iraqi Freedom. The title of my final dissertation was La guerra in Iraq e le
caratteristiche della conflittualità contemporanea (The War in Iraq and the characteristics of the
modern warfare).
On 20th October 2004, I graduated with highest honours (110/110 cum laude) in History from the
University of Turin. For my graduation thesis, titled Guerra e strategia nel mondo postbipolare:
prospettive, problemi, interpretazioni (War and Strategy in the postbipolar world: perspectives,
problems, interpretations), I have been awarded with the prize “Walter Maturi”, for the best thesis
in History for the Year 2004.
