È COSÌ CHE UN MOVIMENTO
DIVENTA TENDENZA
Gli occhi corrono veloci sulle parole stampate
e continuano la loro corsa da sinistra a destra
e dall’alto al basso. Se voglio mi fermo e posso
tornare al punto di partenza, ma ho già perso
quell’innocenza della prima lettura, il mio sguardo e il mio pensiero sono stati violati, hanno già
sedimentato una loro esperienza percettiva, o
in una sola parola, un movimento.
Mi muovo, quindi io sono: si muove l’occhio, si
muove un corpo nello spazio, si muove il tempo, si muove un pensiero; non ci sono “un qui
e un’ora” assoluti, ma tutto è un continuo divenire.
È il continuo mutare rispetto a un punto precedente, rispetto a una posizione nello spazio,
rispetto a un pensiero o a un’immagine precedente. Solo quando ci appropriamo di questa
consapevolezza possiamo assumere un ruolo
attivo, ovvero diventare attori del nostro movimento, orientandolo verso un’altra meta, verso
un nuovo obiettivo.
Traccio una linea e seguo un percorso, tendo a
una meta e coltivo in me un desiderio verso di
essa, che può essere intimo o che può diventare condiviso: è così che un movimento diventa
tendenza. C’è chi in maniera talentuosa vede
prima di altri la meta e vi si avvicina, perché
conosce il percorso, sa dove si sta dirigendo e,
con una scorciatoia, accorcia il tracciato; le tendenze, non sono altro che movimenti anticipati,
mutati o costruiti su misura…

BECOMES TREND
The eyes race over the printed words and continue their swift run from left to right, from top
to bottom. I can stop if I feel like it and go back
to the beginning, but then the innocence of the
first reading has already vanished; my views and
thoughts have been violated, they have already
settled their own experience of perception, or
in one word, movement.
I move, therefore I am: the eye moves, a body
moves through space, time moves, a thought
moves; there’s no absolute “here and now” but
rather a whole and a perpetual becoming.
This is the perpetual alteration from a preceding point, a position in space, a thought or a
preceding image. Once we have absorbed this
awareness we can assume an active role, or become the actor of our own movement, directing it to another half, a new objective.
I draw a line and follow a track, stretching out
to a middle point, thus developing a desire to
reach it, which may be private or may be shared; a movement has become trend.
Some, more talented, will see the middle point
before anyone else and will get closer because
they know where the trail is going; with a shortcut they’ll shorten the course. Trends are no
more than anticipated movements, altered or
custom-made….

EMOZIONI IN MOVIMENTO

porto sicuro. Prendete con le vostre vele i venti. Esplorate. Sognate. Scoprite”.
A distanza di oltre un secolo, le parole dello scrittore americano Mark Twain, sono ancora la filosofia del vero viaggiatore. Muoversi, partire, non rappresenta, infatti, un semplice stacco di vita, un diversivo dalla routine, ma l’ingresso in un’altra dimensione. Un’isola di tempo
felice che apre la mente all’imprevisto, che allontana dalla pesantezza del déjà-vu per respirare l’aria frizzante di nuove possibilità. Con
questa leggera valigia dei sogni, ci si muove alla ricerca della propria meta. Meglio se lontano dalla noia del “tutto organizzato” e dei
villaggi-vacanze omologati. Lontano dai parchi di divertimento e dai tour di gruppo in città e paesi globalizzati, dove tutto si somiglia. I
veri viaggiatori hanno voglia di mondi autentici, di calarsi tra la gente senza mediazione, di vivere il paesaggio, senza disdegnare un pizzico di avventura. Ecco allora che sulla cartina geografica compaiono i corsi d’acqua del Gambia, da percorrere lentamente in piroga, le
cattedrali di arenaria dell’Algeria, da sfiorare in fuoristrada, i vulcani vergini della Kamchatcka, da scalare nell’estrema propaggine della
Russia. Tutte emozioni in movimento, per incontrare nuovi territori, come antichi esploratori. | di Luisa Taliento

More than a century later, the American writer Mark Twain still captures the philosophy of the true traveler. Moving, leaving are actually not representative of a mere break in life, a diversion from daily routine, but rather of the passage into a
new dimension; an island of bliss which opens the mind to the unforeseeable, which delivers from the weight of déjà-vu
to fully take in the refreshing air of new possibilities. With dreams for sole baggage, you move toward your own goals.
Even better if they lead you away from the boredom of “all included packages” and standardized holiday resorts. Away
from amusement parks and guided tours through globalized cities and countries where everything just looks the same.
The true traveler craves for authentic worlds where he will move among people unhindered by intermediaries, enjoy the
landscape without fearing a hint of adventure. That’s how suddenly the map reveals Gambia’s waterways whose flow will
slowly carry the traveler in his pirogue, Algeria’s sand cathedrals grazed by off-road vehicles, Kamchatka’s volcanoes to
be climbed at the extreme confines of Russia. All emotions on the move leading to the discovery of new territories, as

24 fotogrammi al secondo, questa è la velocità necessaria per dare vita ad un movimento sintetico. La pellicola diventa un simulacro di azioni, di pensieri e di emozioni.
Dalla nascita dell’immagine in movimento e con la declinazione dei testi audiovisivi in
altre forme – i videogames, la televisione, i video musicali, la videoarte – lo spettatore
è stato catapultato in un flusso continuo di immagini, in un percorso di pensieri, in una
traiettoria percettiva che qui chiamiamo movi(e)mento. J.S.

film becomes a simulacre of actions, thoughts and emotions…
Since the birth of moving pictures and the declination of audiovisual texts in other
forms the spectator has been hurled into a continuous flow of images, in a stream of
thoughts, in a perceptual trajectory that we’ll call here (e)motion. J.S.
