Re-examination of the function of Learning Objects (LO) within a constructivist perspective requires more expressive representation languages, i.e. languages capable of capturing contextual, social and pedagogical information, and also of capturing characteristics related to activities, processes, roles and learning environments. The study day will explore these issues in the context of experiences and projects carried out at both national and international levels. The morning sessions will be given over to the invited presentations, while the afternoon will be dedicated to discussion of the issues raised in the morning’s activities and the poster session. Possible themes are: the relationship between the constructivist learning paradigm and languages used for representing digital learning resources; pedagogical issues underlying the use of learning objects in adult education in general and teacher training in particular; the role played by specifications, tools and platforms for sharing digital learning resources in instructional design; experiences in reusing learning resources within instructional design.
