Selection rules
Program
Award concerts
Solares Fondazione delle Arti, as part of the XIV
International Guitar Festival “Niccolò Paganini”, in
order to make known nationally and internationally
young concert players, organizes the XIII Selection of
young guitarists for concerts in Italy and abroad that
will be taking place in Parma on the 27th and 28th of
April 2012.
Preliminary: free program – no longer than 15 minutes
Finale: free program – no longer than 25 minutes. It is not allowed
to replay music works performed during the preliminary

Transcriptions are allowed
•
The Jury has the power to stop the performance of one or
more music works or ask to replay them
•
It is not compulsory to play from memory
•
All participants, before the Preliminary, will have to submit
to the Jury copies of the scores of their program and an ID
card with photograph
The awards will consist of concerts offered by Festivals and music
association. The awards will not include the cachet of the concert
performed by the winners.
The concert will not have any payment except a reimbursement of
the travel expenses and accommodation for the day of the concert.
The selection is reserved for those musicians of all
nationalities who, on the 31/12/2012 will not be over
thirty years old (for soloists) or thirty five years old
(average) for groups.
They can participate as soloists or chamber music
groups, up to a maximum of eight elements, including
at least one guitar.

than April 10, 2012. Application forms received after the
deadline will not be taken into account
The fee is not refundable in any case and should be paid by

Purpose: XIII Selection of young guitarists
The selection, which will be taking place in Parma at
the Teatro Cinghio (Largo 8 Marzo, 9/a), will have
two rounds:
Preliminary: on Friday, April 27 at 10 a.m.
Final Trial: on Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m.
The Jury will be composed of eminent personalities in
the field of music, as well as of famous guitar players.
Those members of the Jury who have ongoing
teaching relationships with competitors must declare it
and will be abstained from judging them.

- 70 Euro chamber music groups (for each member)
