I tre pittoreschi paesi vinicoli Cortaccia, Magrè e Cortina sulla
Strada del Vino s’inseriscono meravigliosamente nel paesaggio
caratterizzato da frutteti e vigneti.
Ai bellissimi vigneti si aggiungono ampie distese di cipressi,
oleandri, fichi ed olivi. Diversi sentieri salgono tra le tenute vinicole
sparse tra le vigne ed i boschi misti fino a raggiungere le terrazze
di Penon, Corona ed il Lago di Favogna. In questa zona si trovano un’antichissima pietra scavata, alberi giganti, nonché il podere
vinicolo di Müller Thurgau, il più altolocato d’Europa. A Magrè, una
vite piantata nel 1601 copre l’intera facciata di una casa.
Sorprendente lo stile architettonico delle case, frutto di un connubio perfetto di elementi mediterranei e tipicamente alpini: volte e
finestre a doppio arco, logge e inferriate in ferro battuto. Il clima
particolarmente mite permette di effettuare piacevoli escursioni e
passeggiate tra i frutteti in fiore in primavera.

Cortaccia, Magrè e Cortina: three villages – one character
The wine-producing villages of Cortaccia, Magrè and Cortina
nestle among the orchards and vineyards.
Southern elegance pervades this winegrowing region, with its cypresses, oleander trees, fig and olive trees. Paths lead you gently
up past individual farmhouses, vineyards and woods to the upland
terraces of Penon and Corona and the Fennberg Lake. There
you will find an ancient carved stone, mammoth trees, as well as
Europe’s highest winery – Müller Thurgau. A vine planted in 1601
covers the whole front of a house in the village of Magrè.
Many architectural details bear witness to the merging of northern
and southern cultures: sandstone framed door arches and doublearch windows, loggias and expertly forged window grills.
The southerly location means hiking is possible all year round. In
spring, a special experience is walking or cycling through a sea of
apple blossoms.

Per la nona volta, dal 25 aprile al 6 giugno –
i 16 comuni vinicoli lungo la Strada del Vino dell’Alto
Adige allestiscono lo spettacolare scenario di Vino in
Festa 2015. La manifestazione è un’occasione unica per
conoscere il mondo del vino dell’Alto Adige e visitare
meravigliosi luoghi d’interesse storico culturale. La Notte delle Cantine il 6 giugno conclude il mese di Vino
in Festa. Per l’occasione, le cantine lungo la Strada del
Vino aprono le porte ai visitatori che con il bus navetta
possono visitare luoghi mai visti prima.
Vino in Festa and the Wine cellar night
The 16 wine growing Towns along the South Tyrolean
Wine Road provide the setting for Vino in Festa for one
month from the 25th of April to the 6th of June 2015.
A varied programme focusing on the topic of wine invites to taste, enjoy and get to know each other or simply
linger in the historically and architectonically special villages. Vino in Festa finish with the Wine cellar night on
the 6th of June, when the wine cellars along the Wine
Road open their doors for visitors and you can experience different wine routes with a shuttle.

Il sentiero eno-didattico di Kurtatsch
The Kurtatsch wine educational trail

Lungo i suoi 1,6 km attraverso un’area vitivinicola chiusa, questo percorso,
oltre ad essere un’esperienza naturalistica, offre la possibilità di seguire tutti
gli eventi più importanti della viticoltura. Alcune tavole informative illustrano la
varietà delle uve e le caratteristiche paesaggistiche della zona, consentendo
anche di odorare le diverse note dei vini, conservati in piccole brocche di argilla,
per cercare di indovinarne il nome. Non mancano, naturalmente, le meravigliose
viste su frutteti e vigneti della Bassa Atesina e sulle Dolomiti. La mano in legno,
logo del sentiero, vi accompagna lungo tutto il percorso: un tempo segnale
del Saltner, il custode del vigneto, veniva posta sui sentieri per indicarne la
presenza. Anche se il percorso non è particolarmente impegnativo, si consiglia
d’indossare scarpe da trekking! Lunghezza complessiva da Kurtatsch a Entiklar:
ca. 2,1 km (ca. 50 minuti a piedi), allungabile fino a Margreid.

The trail runs 1.6 km through a contiguous wine-producing area. As well as
experiencing the beauties of nature along the trail, you can learn all about the
highlights of the winegrowing year. Information panels provide details of the
local grape varieties and landscape features. You can even try sniffing the scent
notes of the various wines in small clay amphorae while enjoying the wonderful
views over the orchards and vineyards of South Tyrol’s Unterland and the
outlying Dolomites. The logo of the trail is a “mitt”, which acts as a signpost.
This wooden hand was formerly the characteristic of the Saltner, the vineyard
guard, which he used on the farm roads to indicate his presence. The walk
is not particularly arduous, but walking shoes are recommended! The overall
length from Kurtatsch to Entiklar is approx. 2.1 km (approx. 50 minutes walking)
and can be extended to Margreid. The distance from Kurtatsch to Margreid is
approx. 3.5 km.

Antico mulino e bottega del fabbro
Escursione dei masi di Cortaccia
All’angolo tra piazza Schweiggl e vicolo Kirchgasse, sorge la Schwarz Adler, una trattoria risalente al 1636 in cui, dal 1780 al 1835 ca.,
ha vissuto e lavorato il comandante degli Schützen durante le Insurrezioni del Tirolo per la libertà (1796–1809).
1. Partiamo da piazza Schweiggl, svoltando a destra in via
Botengasse. Sul lato destro, incrociamo la residenza
am Orth (metà del 15° secolo) con il museo “Uomo
nel tempo” (visite, il venerdì alle 10 o su richiesta)
circondato da mura merlettate). Nella grande finestra
dell’osteria sono ancora visibili alcuni affreschi in buone
condizioni. Percorrendo la stessa strada, ritorniamo al
Platzl.
15. Ora scendiamo fino all’incrocio Cortaccia/Penon e
svoltiamo a destra. Sul lato sinistro sorge la residenza
Nußdorf (inizio del 16° secolo, proprietà del conte von
Indermaur).
2. Via Botengasse n° 4, Alter Widum (canonica),
imponente edificio del 1521 che, fino a metà del 16°
secolo, fungeva anche da parrocchia. Particolari
caratteristiche: bovindo (avancorpo), cornici in arenaria
all’ingresso.
8. Sempre sulla destra, incontriamo l’ingresso del
Finkenhof (1646), antica proprietà del conte von
Indermaur (stemma sul muro, al di sopra del balcone in
legno)
16. Nei pressi della residenza Nußdorf, pieghiamo a
sinistra e, lungo il ciglio della strada, ci dirigiamo verso
Cortaccia. Arrivati in piano, a sinistra, costeggiamo
l’antico mulino e la bottega del fabbro (1751),
mentre a destra si erge il capitello votivo monolitico
contro la peste, risalente al 1652.
3. Sul lato sinistro, sorge la Botenhaus (1578), ex
carcere, con torre sul lato posteriore (ipotesi degli
storici). Seguiamo il vicoletto dietro l’edificio, per
sfociare dopo ca. 50 m in via Obergasse. Sul lato
sinistro, troviamo la scuola Angela Nikoletti
(1905–1930, insegnante nelle scuole clandestine).
4. Passando sotto il portone ad arco sulla destra,
giungiamo al Plattenhof, menzionato per la prima volta
nel 1407. Ex residenza nobiliare, è oggi un’imponente
casa contadina. In questo luogo, nel 1733, fu rinvenuta
l’immagine miracolosa della Madonna Addolorata,
conservata oggi nella chiesa, e fu gettata la prima
pietra per la costruzione del santuario.
5. Attraversando il secondo portone ad arco, arriviamo nel
cortile dell’antico tribunale (1596). All’ingresso del
Plattenhof si può osservare una finestra con una
bilancia e un codice, oltre che lo stemma di Cortaccia.
Ca. 10 m a sinistra, verso la piazza principale, sorge il
Thunische Torggl del 1528: l’immobile massiccio e le
finestre a tutto sesto sono le caratteristiche di questa
maestosa tenuta.
6. Percorriamo via Obergasse arrivando al Platzl dove, sul
lato sinistro, si apre un suggestivo portone ad arco. Il
gruppo di case veniva chiamato “Nokrische
Behausungen” e, probabilmente, fu fatto costruire dal
conte von Indermaur, insieme alla residenza
Freienfeld, all’inizio del 16° secolo.
7. Ora dal Platzl svoltiamo a sinistra e, dopo 100 m ca.,
raggiungiamo la residenza Freienfeld (1521) fatta
costruire dal conte von Indermaur (cortile interno

9. Seguiamo via Obergasse fino ai n° civici 26, 28, ove è
ubicato il Lindenhof (1566), un tipico e grazioso maso
contadino. Alcuni ritrovamenti hanno riportato sulle
tracce di von Indermaur e del conte von Anich.
10. Alla fine di via Obergasse, arriviamo all’incrocio per
Termeno. Sulla destra, sorge l’Eggerhof (nuova
costruzione). Pieghiamo a sinistra in via Maria Hilf.
Dopo la prima salita, a partire dalla Haus am Hang e dal
Talblick, giungiamo all’Eberlehof, in stile gotico.
11. Seguendo la strada, dopo ca. 200 m, c’imbattiamo nel
Könighof, presumibilmente ex sede amministrativa dei
Longobardi (ca. 589). L’attuale edificio risale al 1668
(bella vista su Cortaccia).
12. Percorriamo la via e svoltiamo a sinistra (nei pressi del
giardino): davanti a noi si erge il Forhof (inizio 15°
sec.). Particolari caratteristiche: stemma sulla porta
d’ingresso e pietra con una misteriosa raffigurazione
del sole o della luna.
13. Dal Forhof, la strada prosegue sfociando in via
Graunerweg. Guardando avanti, scorgiamo lo
Schwänklhof (1537) fatto costruire dal conte von
Anich.
14. Scendiamo lungo via Graunerweg per arrivare, dopo ca.
100 m, alla residenza Altlehen (1259), probabilmente
la più antica della Bassa Atesina e sede del conte von
Anich. La parte più vecchia è la torre con un portone a
sesto acuto, incorniciato da blocchi di pietra. Sulla
sommità è inciso lo stemma dei signori von Anich.
17. Percorriamo altri ca. 100 m fino all’incrocio con via
Endergasse e via Nikoletti e svoltiamo a destra. Dopo
10 m ci troviamo davanti all’ingresso della residenza
Staffelfeld zu Ulmburg (inizio del 16° secolo) del
barone von Widmann.
18. Passeggiando lungo via Angela Nikoletti, arriviamo
all’Orthenburg (1572). Sul portone ad arco delle mura
merlettate è visibile la data 1636. Degne di nota sono le
antiche mura del cortile interno con le “catapulte” (che
fungono oggi da rinforzi statici).
19. Proseguendo diritti, arriviamo all’ultima residenza, lo
Strehlburg con il beneficio e la chiesetta di S.
Anna. Già nel 1492, questa fattoria era di proprietà
della famiglia dei conti von Indermaur. La torre ad
angolo decorata con affreschi e la sua cappella
risalgono al 1600 ca.
Ora l’escursione dei masi è conclusa. Attraverso il
sentiero di collegamento tra i campi (fermata
dell’autobus) si ritorna al punto di partenza.
Strehlburg
A walk round the farms of Cortaccia
At the corner of Schweiggl-Platz – Kirchgasse is the Schwarz Adler, an inn since 1636. From 1780 to ca. 1835 the commandant of the Schützen
(marksmen) during the Tyrolean struggle for freedom (1796–1809) lived and worked here as landlord.
1. We start from the Schweiggl-Platz and turn right into
the Botengasse. On the right is the Ansitz (residence)
am Orth (mid-15th century.) with the Zeitreise
Mensch Museum (Museum of People through Time)
(open Fridays at 10 a.m. or on request).
2. At Botengasse no. 4 is the Alter Widum (old rectory), a
stately building dating from 1521, which served as the
priest’s residence until around the mid-16th century.
Note the oriel (projecting structure) and sandstone
framework at entrance.
3. On the left we see the Botenhaus (1578), a former
prison, with the tower at the rear (assumption of
historical researchers). We follow the “Gassl” (lane)
behind the house and after some 50 m reach the
Obergasse. On the left is the junior school named after
Angela Nikoletti (1905-1930, teacher in the
“catacomb schools” under the Fascist regime).
4. Passing through the right-hand archway we reach the
Plattenhof, first mentioned in 1407. In former times a
noble residence, it is today an imposing farmhouse. In
1733 the miraculous image of the Mater Dolorosa
was discovered here, which is today located in the
church and forms the foundation stone for the
pilgrimage church.
5. Through the second archway we come to the courtyard
of the old courthouse, dating from 1596. On entering
the Plattenhof can be seen windows with the scales
and book of laws as well as the Cortaccia coat of arms.
Some 10 metres further to the left, towards the main
square, is the Thunische Torggl dating from the year
1528. The solid structure and round arched windows
are characteristic of this stately property.
6. We continue along the Obergasse and come to the
Platzl. On the left are impressive archways. The group
of houses was known as the “Nokrische Behausungen” and were probably built by the Counts of
Indermaur in connection with the Freienfeld
residence at the beginning of the 16th century.
7. Now we turn left at the Platzl and after some 100 m
arrive at the Freienfeld residence, built in 1521 by
the Counts of Indermaur. (courtyard surrounded by
crenellated wall.). Beautifully preserved frescoes can be
seen in the large window of the parlour. We take the
same route back to the Platzl.
8. On the right is the entrance to the Finkenhof, dating
from 1646, which at that time was the property of the
Counts of Indermaur (coat of arms on wall above the
wooden balcony)
9. We follow the Obergasse up to nos. 26, 28, the location
of the Lindenhof (1566). A beautiful farm, typical of
the area. Traces of the Indermaur family and the Counts
of Anich have been found.
10. At the end of the Obergasse, we come to the
crossroads to Tramin. On the right is the Eggerhof (a
new building). We turn left into the Maria-Hilf-Gasse.
After the initial climb, from the Haus am Hang and the
Talblick, we reach the early Gothic Eberlehof.
11. Following the road, after some 200 m we come to the
Könighof, possibly the former administrative seat of
the Lombards (ca. 589). Today‘s building dates from
1668 (beautiful views over Cortaccia).

vertex.
15. We now go down to the Cortaccia/Penon crossroads.
We turn right and on the left can be seen the Nußdorf
residence (property of the Counts of Indermauer at the
beginning of the 16th century).
16. We turn left at the Nußdorf residence and go along
the roadside to Cortaccia. As we reach the level, we
come on the left to the old mill and smithy (1751).
On the right is a monolithic shrine to protect against the
plague, dating from the year 1652.
17. Some 100 m further on we reach the junction of
Endergasse and Angela Nikoletti-Strasse and turn right.
After 10 metres is the entrance to the Staffelfeld zu
Ulmburg residence (beginning of 16th century) of the
Baron von Widmann.
18. We take the Angela Nikoletti-Strasse and come to the
Orthenburg (1572). The year 1636 can be seen in the
archway in the crenellated wall. The old walls in the
inner courtyard are worth seeing with their wooden
“catapults” (used for reinforcement).
12. We go further along the route and take a left (by the
garden) where the Forhof stands before us (beginning
of 15th century). Characteristic features are the coat of
arms at the entrance door and a stone with a
mysterious sun or moon.
19. Continuing straight on, we come to the final Ansitz, the
Strehlburg with its benefice and the Little Church of St.
Anna. This farmstead was in the possession of the
family of the Counts of Indermaur in 1492. The
fresco-decorated corner tower with chapel was built
around 1600.
13. From the Forhof the way continues into the
Graunerweg. Straight ahead can be seen the
Schwänklhof (1537), built by the Counts of Anich.
The farm walk is now finished: return to your starting
point via the connecting route through the fields (bus
stop).
14. We descend the Graunerweg and after approximately
100 m come to the Altlehen residence (1259),
probably the oldest Ansitz in the Unterland region and
the seat of the Counts of Anich. The oldest part is the

16) escursione guidata per conoscere le
piante selvatiche commestibili nel maso
viticolo „Bio-Weingut Steig - Othmar Sanin”
con degustazione di vini. Delizie selvatiche
nel vigneto! Da oltre 15 anni coltiviamo
esclusivamente specie di viti resistenti alle
malattie senza alcun trattamento. Durante
l’escursione nel vigneto il viticoltore vi
presenterà oltre 30 specie di piante selvatiche
commestibili, illustrandovi le loro proprietà
curative e il loro impiego in cucina – in più
varie ricette. Degusteremo il pesto di piante
selvatiche, la ricotta di piante selvatiche, sali
di piante selvatiche, nonchè farina di vinaccioli
e tenere foglie d’uva sott’olio e in salamoia. I
nostri vini biologici e succhi d’uva biologici vi
