Education Office is closed for Summer Vacation. We are preparing for our
school year 2007-2008, and we need all present students and all NEW students to
register in our Religious Education Office, Monday to Thursday 10a.m. to 2p.m. If you

returning students as well as new students. TUITION IS $100. Anyone registering for

THE CARMELITE RELIGIOUS FAMILY is composed of a variety of men and
women, in different states of life, devoted to live the charism of contemplation in
prayer and devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For some, living this charism
has called them to observe the vows of religious life in a monastic community.
There are also men and women who are married or single, retain their regular
work. They can do so by joining the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Chapter of the
Lay (Third Order) Carmelites that meet monthly here at St. A’s. In order to join
the Third Order, one must be committed to follow an ongoing formation program,
be willing to make promises that will be lived in ordinary daily life and agree to
support other members of the Third Order through monthly ongoing formation
meetings. For further information, please call Mary Patten at 718.980.4919.
THE ROSARY SOCIETY IS SPONSORING A DAY RETREAT TO ST.

PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR CHOICE OF SUMMER CLOTHES WHEN
COMING TO MASS, especially since we have air conditioning here at St.

than with our clothing, however, what we wear conveys the value we place
on celebrating the Eucharist. While we welcome all, some items of
clothing are inappropriate for Prayer and Worship.

FAITH SHARING QUESTION OF THE WEEK
We encourage you to talk about the readings & reflection
question in the car on the way home from Mass, at dinner
on Sunday, or at parish meetings. Faith sharing opens the
door for us to meet, know & walk with Christ in our
everyday lives.
What choices were you faced with this week? Did your
faith in Christ affect your decisions? What choices do
you have coming up next week?
THURSDAY MORNING SCRIPTURE REFLECTION
& FAITH SHARING GROUP meets every Thursday,
after the 9a.m. Mass, in the Nazareth Institute to discuss
the upcoming Sunday's Scriptures. Join Lay Pastoral
Leader Joe Barbieri for spirited discussions on next
Sunday’s Bible readings.

YOUTH GROUP AND YOUTH MASS FORTHIS MONTH!
The Bi- Monthly Youth Mass and group is coming up so
we invite all youth, 7th grade and older, to join us at 4PM
meeting in the schools auditorium on Sunday, July 15st.
followed by the youth mass at 6PM.
WHY DO WE CELEBRATE MASS IN OTHER
LANGUAGES THAN ENGLISH? At our recent Saturday
gatherings some parishioners questioned the church's
practice of celebrating Mass in other languages than
English. One of the important revisions of liturgy from
Vatican II was the restoration of the church's public
prayer to the language of the people. While Latin was
once spoken by all, the Romance languages, Italian and
Spanish being among them, began to replace Latin.
When Vatican II restored public prayer to the language of
the people, English was not the only language envisioned
by the Council. In many countries, not just the United
States, Catholics come from all over the world, gathering
around the Table of the Lord, a common meeting ground
expressing unity. Even though we speak different
languages around this Holy Table, we are still united
because we share faith in Jesus Christ. The goal of these
multilingual celebrations is to celebrate what God has
done for us in Jesus Christ. Here at St. A's we worship in
English, Italian, and Spanish. When we gather together
as one, we want to offer those whose first language is not
English the opportunity to enter into prayer using the
"language of their heart." People pray in the first
language. Just because a parishioner also speaks
English, does not mean they can pray as passionately in
English than their first language. Liturgy always connects
to our lives and in our lives, especially here in Brooklyn,
we speak many languages but the common
ingredient when using these languages is love- how God
loves us! Trying to make others feel welcome at our Table
involves sacrifice. When we sacrifice for others we
express love. Didn't Jesus do that for us on the Cross?

gloria in tutti i suoi servi. Egli sa opportunamente volgere in
costretti a sopportare.
faciano a piacer tuo?
invece sorreggerci vicendevolemte, vicendevolmente
confortarci, e cosi` pure, aiutarci istruirci ammonirci. Quale
Perche` ciascuno
portera le consequenze di quel che fa.
