The team of Associazione Art. Cult. “A Rocca” and Eprojectconsult International department, in
cooperation with Ergastiriako Kentro Kastorias took the role of intermediary partner for group of
people from Kastiria, Greece in the frame of Erasmus+, KA1 Mobility project for VET learners and
staff. During the project named "New skills acquisition for VET students" we hosted 12 selected
participants. The training programme was addressed to students of the speciality of Mechanics and
Automotive Engineering and it was including study visits with a company specialized in
Renewable Energies, as well as two visits in companies about Car Dealership and Service.

Preparation of the mobility project
In order to make the cooperation between both organizations effective, guarantee the best
quality project and to satisfy the participant’s expectations and needs, we have designed the
program of the project together. We have exchanged e-mails in order to discuss the aims of the
project, to develop the plan of activities and to clarify any doubts.
Arrival of the participants
On the day of their arrival they had an informative welcome meeting, designed to give the
participants useful information they require during their stay in Sicily. Firstly, they had the
introduction to the program in general. The tutor informed the trainees about the organization and
described the work activities, obligations and tasks they will be involved in during the project.
The next informative session was dedicated to the cultural aspects of their life in Sicily: the
work style in Italy, rules to follow, behaviour and other cultural information were given to the
participants. The “Help me” card with useful numbers and phrases in Italian as well as a leaflet with
all the useful information they may need (address, rules, tips, etc.) during their stay were
distributed.

Training Programme Details
The subject of the training programme of participants was mainly the Renewable Energies, and
Automotive Engineering as well. The interns had the opportunity to learn skills needed for a future
professional career in this field. The training was implemented in the town of Messina and
Barcellona P.G.
The main collaborator company was ‘Tecnologie Solari Sicilia’. The company is located in
Messina, which is the capital of the Sicilian province of Messina. Its main aim, since 2005, is to
contribute to make housing and companies with zero energy costs, through the use of renewable
energy sources. The company is implementing a lot of renewable energy sources projects around
Sicily. Participants had the chance to attend theoretical courses by Alessandro Orto (Chief
Executive Officer) and Valerio Alessandro De Domenico Ricciardi (Technical Department), who
are the directors of the company, as well as to implement study visits about photovoltaics, heat
pumps, plumbing, solar thermal systems and chillers.

Regarding the sector of Automotive Engineering, participants implemented study visits in car
service enterprise and car dealership enterprise as well. These study visits gave to participants the
opportunity to learn more about the latest developments and new technologies in the automotive
sector. In addition, through the study visit to car service enterprise, they gained practical knowledge
of control, maintenance and repair of vehicles.

- The participants learned how a heat pump works and how it can be
installed.

Evaluation of the project
The evaluation of the project by participants, in the last day of the training, was excellent.
Employees of the “A Rocca” Association and persons involved in this project hope it was a efficient
and unique experience for all participants. The monitoring team did its best in order to satisfy the
expectations of each participant and to ensure the communication with the sending organization at
each stage of the project.
Participants had chance to see the way of working in Sicily. Certainly, they had an
opportunity to get to know a lot of useful information about the functioning of Sicilian enterprises,
which are related Mechanics and Automotive Engineering. Those participants who had a previous
experience in those fields also could compare all the similarities and differences of these related
enterprises in Sicily and Greece.
At the end of the project, participants received “A Rocca Mobility Certificate” and
EUROPASS.
Most importantly, participants gained professional experience in their sector, so that they
will be more competitive in the labour market in Greece.
Conclusion
Our monitoring team did its best in order to satisfy the expectations of each participant. We were
always ready to offer help, advices and solve any doubts with our guaranteed 24-hour availability;
in any case they needed some assistance. Consequently, the participants seemed to be satisfied with
this project. According to their opinion, it was an interesting and useful experience. We hope they
found inspiration and got new ideas about how to deal with their future career in their country. We
are satisfied because due to their participation in the programme, the participants have enriched
their professional experiences. Moreover, participants had opportunity to explore new horizons by
fully integrating in Sicilian culture and meeting many new friends from Italy and from the other

parts of world. In addition, all the group of participants have become good friends, and can still
meeting each other and exchange their experiences after the project.
Our team is very satisfied with the participant’s involvement in the project and personal interest of
each person involved. We hope we can continue our cooperation with Ergastiriako Kentro
Kastorias.
