Le question tags sono brevi frasi interrogative poste al
termine di un ’ affermazione che significano “ Non è
vero?”.
Come si formano
Le question tags si formano aggiungendo alla frase principale: ausiliare
+ pronome personale + ?
Il soggetto della question tag è sempre il pronome personale.
Se la frase è affermativa, la question tag va messa in forma negativa:
John plays football, doesn’t he?
Se la frase è negativa, la question tag va messa in forma affermativa:
John doesn’t play football, does he?
Se nella principale sono presenti ausiliari o modali, si ripetono:
It’s very hot in here, isn’t it?
You should be at school, shouldn’t you?
In assenza di ausiliari o modali, si usano do, does o did secondo il
tempo usato nella frase principale:
Mark went to school yesterday, didn’t he?
Quando si usano -1
Per avere una conferma:
You are German, aren’t you?

Per rafforzare quanto si è detto:
I’m too thin, aren’t I?
