DEPARTMENT FOR
ENVIRONMENT AND
SUSTAINABILITY
The National Council of Italian Architects, Planners,
Landscapers and Curators (CNAPPC) – an organization
established by the Ministry of Justice under Law no.1395/23 –
places side by side traditional architects and specialized
professionals with 3 or 5-year Bachelor’s Degrees. The
CNAPPC closely deals with professional issues by means of its
various departments.
The Order of Roman Architects, Planners, Landscapers and
Curators has a Contest Area (Area Concorsi), dealing with
the organization of competitions regarding architectural and
city planning themes.
Organizers
Ever since its inception in 1958, AIDI (The Italian Lighting
Association) has been raising awareness of all lighting-related problems
by conveying scientific, technical and cultural information on that
subject. AIDI spreads knowledge relating to all aspects of lighting,
promoting its study and research, thereby leading to the further
development
of
this
field.
In collaboration with
The PLDC biennial Convention, which was conceived for the global
market of lighting design.
Planners, lighting designers, researchers, universities, industries and
clients use the PLDC as a platform to meet, get to know the latest
developments in the field of lighting design and discuss the future of
this trade. The PLDC plays host to the transfer of high-quality
knowledge and international networking opportunities.
Organizers
APIL, founded in 1998, is the Italian Association of Lighting
Professionals who work in the lighting sector on programs regarding
the development and promotion of lighting technology culture.
The ROMA TRE University School of Architecture has the primary
objective of contributing to the innovation and adaptation of the wide
spectrum of architectural disciplines.
One of their main branches of learning is dedicated to lighting design,
enriched by the presence of the Lighting Design Laboratory
(networked with the Laboratory of Engineering LIFT).
The Masters in Lighting Design - MLD – Sapienza, currently enjoying its
15° edition, was created to help mould lighting designers and lighting
project managers equipped to deal with the complexity of modern
projects and technological innovations.

Institutional Partners
Division of Urban Development
The Division’s wish is to make its city planning
fit the needs of its people. In order to do this it
aims at defending the values of quality and
inhabitability, as this is the only way to
guarantee a long-lasting prosperity shared by all
citizens while respecting the city’s cultural
heritage, landscape and beauty.
IX Municipality - EUR
In the year 2000, the Italian Ministry of Treasury
transformed the ‘Ente Autonomo Esposizione
Universale di Roma’ (Autonomous Body for Rome’s
World’s Fair) into EUR S.p.A. – a joint stock company
which attends to real estate management and
development.
EUR owes its prestigious heritage to the exceptional
quantity of Italian rationalist monuments at its disposal;
unrivalled both in terms of size and quality.

Subject
WHERE
The EUR district is a very peculiar area. It was built for the 1942 World’s
Fair which, due to the war, never actually took place. Today it represents
an outdoor museum of 1930s architecture, to which new structures and
services have been added which highlight its potential role as the city’s
«contest platform»
