XXXVII Annual Meeting
Italian Association for the Study of the Pancreas (AISP)
September 19th- 21st 2013
Dear Colleagues,
For the second consecutive year our National Meeting will be held in
Bologna.
I would utilize the word of the US president during the presidential
electoral campaign “Forward”; thus, my objective is to mix the best of the
last year (the location and the weather) with new scientific topics. Our
Whyte House will remain the Savoia Hotel Regency, easily accessible and
within walking distance from the center of my charming and historical
town; the topics of the congress will be, in my opinion, challenging.
According to our mission to promote and encourage the development of
science and health in the Pancreatology field, I’m trying to keep a high
scientific standard of our National Meeting. Of course, this is possible to
the support of the companies who believe in our initiatives and which
are giving enthusiastically their support My hope is that there will be
three days of intensive and enthusiastic work. Hot topics will include
the management of patients fit for resective surgery, exocrine pancreatic
insufficiency treatment in patients with cystic fibrosis, autoimmune
pancreatitis and diabetes mellitus, new techniques for endoscopic
diagnosis and treatment of acute pancreatitis and pancreatic tumors’
palliation and much more. As tradition of our meeting , I am expecting
lively discussions and I hope to revitalize relationships that are precursor
for future collaborations.
A warm welcome to all of you in Bologna!
Raffaele Pezzilli
