CONGRESS VENUE The Congress will be held in Porto San Rocco near Muggia, a pivotal town between Italy and Slovenia, just a few months after the opening of borders between the two countries. The Congress venue is a marina located near an Iron Age archeological settlement, Roman surface and submarine traces, a medieval church, villages of Venetian culture, and close to Trieste, a former port of the Hapsburg Empire now hosting major scientific and technological institutions. Porto San Rocco also faces a contaminated site, where heavy industries and waste treatment plants are hosted. A special session of the Congress will be held at the Biblioteca Statale of Trieste, where books that have been restored in recent years wil be exhibited. CONGRESS REGISTRATION The registration form can be downloaded from www.dsch.units.it/sciabc2008/ and must be sent to the Organizing Secretariat by 18 April 2008, together with the scientific contribution. The registration fee includes participation in the scientific sessions, the Abstract Book, coffee breaks and lunches. Payment must be done by bank transfer by 18 April 2008. The Friuli Venezia Giulia region, hosting the Congress, for vocation and need is open to the globalized world.
