Il programma vi aiuterà ad acquisire le competenze e la sicurezza necessarie per avere maggiori
possibilità di trovare lavoro o concludere con buon esito la formazione professionale.
In che modo il programma vi sarà di aiuto?
Il programma vi aiuterà ad acquisire la sicurezza e le competenze necessarie per trovare lavoro.
Avrà le seguenti caratteristiche.
• Sarà organizzato con una suddivisione in piccoli gruppi, per creare un’atmosfera amichevole e
rilassata
• Sarà caratterizzato da un ambiente collaborativo, con persone aventi le medesime difficoltà di
lettura, scrittura e aritmetiche
• Sarà tenuto da docenti professionali, esperti nell’insegnamento ad adulti
• Vi aiuterà a migliorare le vostre competenze linguistiche e di lettura, scrittura e aritmetiche, e
• Faciliterà la compilazione di moduli e la redazione di lettere e CV.
Chi è idoneo a Skills for Education and Employment?
Potreste essere idonei al programma se siete registrati come persone in cerca di lavoro e:
• avete da 15 a 21 anni (Youth Allowance);
• avete da 22 a 64 anni e beneficiate di Newstart Allowance, Disability Support Pension, Parenting
Payment, Widow Pension/Allowance o Partner Allowance;
• siete immigrati soggetti al periodo di attesa di due anni per residenti neoarrivati;
• siete residenti non permanenti, in possesso di un visto temporaneo o provvisorio;
• siete cittadini australiani o residenti permanenti in Australia con prima lingua diversa
dall’inglese. In questo caso, non avete bisogno di ricevere un sussidio integrativo al reddito dal
Department of Human Services.
Nota: i titolari di visto Skilled Migrant non sono attualmente idonei alla formazione. Potranno
valere anche altre condizioni relative al visto.

Da chi è gestito il programma e come si fa a sapere se
faccia al caso proprio?
Il programma è gestito da centri di formazione locale detti TAFE. Una volta iscritti al programma,
sarete valutati e inseriti in una classe o corso adatti alle vostre esigenze. Vi saranno garantite 10 –
20 ore di formazione alla settimana. Se ne avrete bisogno, la formazione sarà gratuita.

Skills for Education and Employment
If you are a jobseeker and need to improve your speaking, reading and/or writing skills you
may be eligible for the program, Skills for Education and Employment.
Improving more than just your job prospects
The program will help you gain the skills and confidence you need to improve your chances of
getting a job or successfully completing vocational training.
How will the program help you?
The program will help you gain the confidence and skills needed to get a job. It will:
• be held in small groups to create a friendly and relaxed setting
• provide a supportive environment with people facing similar difficulties with reading,
writing and numbers
• be provided by professional staff with experience in teaching adult learners
• improve your language or reading, writing and number skills, and
• make it easier for you to fill out forms, write letters and resumes.
Who is eligible for Skills for Education and
Employment?
You may be eligible for the program if you are a registered job seeker and you are:
• 15 to 21 years of age (Youth Allowance)
• 22 to 64 years of age and receiving Newstart Allowance, Disability Support Pension, Parenting
Payment, Widow Pension/Allowance or Partner Allowance
• a migrant who is subject to the two-year newly arrived resident waiting period
• a non-permanent resident and hold a temporary or provisional visa, or
• a citizen or permanent resident of Australia whose first language is not English. In this case you
do not need to receive an income support payment from the Department of Human Services.
Note: holders of a skilled migrant visa are currently not eligible for the training. Other visa
conditions may also apply.

Who is the program run by and how do I know if it will
be relevant to me?
The program is delivered by local training providers or TAFEs. Once you are referred for the
program, you will be assessed and placed in a class or course that suits your needs. You will be
provided with 10–20 hours of training each week. You can receive free training if you need it.
