“IL LINGUAGGIO DELLA RICERCA” LdR - XI ANNUAL MEETING
“You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother”. This famous phrase from Albert Einstein well defines the purpose of LdR, a project
that aims to contribute to the public understanding of science by creating a network between RESEARCH, SCHOOL and SCIENCE POPULARIZATION EXPERTS. The project
is promoted by the Italian National Research Council (CNR - Area of Bologna) and the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF). The project, which was born in 2003, fosters
a tight collaboration between schools (primary and secondary ones ), scientific community and communication experts in order to stimulate students’ interest towards research
and ultimately engage them as scientific popularisers. In 2013 LdR represented a case-study within the European project “Science Teaching European Network for Creativity
and Innovation in Learning (STENCIL)”. During the last year, more than 1800 students (12-19 years old) partecipated to the LdR project.
