Integrated Logistics Un Consorzio Technical manuals Operators and maintainer manuals, catalogues, Course documentation. Spare parts Creation of multimedia technical manuals by means of WEB pubblication and visualization technology. Creation of technical manuals in SGML and their pubblication according to AECMA, MIL … Un Consorzio Computer based training Two types of products developed within this field are directed to: The info-formation, relating to internal regulations and security, of employees taken on in private companies or public bodies. Training for operators and equipment maintainer. Un Consorzio System for operating management and integrated logistics support A software for managing the configuration of MIRACH Aerial Target Systems, called GL, has been developed for Galileo Avionica. Un Consorzio Technical translation and localization services Un Consorzio Localization A localization project has the purpose of creating multilingual versions of: • • • • • • software programmes e-business and company portals on-line assistance systems CBT (Computer Based Training) static and dynamic websites (based on CMS) hi-tech, mobile and wireless systems Un Consorzio Localization The adaptation process of a product to a determine market. This process includes different aspects such as technical-functional, linguistic and cultural ones. “Localization revolves around combining language and technology to produce a product that can cross cultural and language barriers.” The critical factor in localization is represented by the technical-informatic management of problems. Un Consorzio Technical translations • • • • • • Use and maintenance manuals Operating manuals Technical specifications Technical-operating documentation Catalogues Illustrated Part Breakdown Un Consorzio Technical Translations Strong points Training of translators - integration of technical and linguistic competence Continuous terminological up-dating - automatic instruments for terminological management - creation of personalized glossaries for customers Use of CAT technologies (Computer Assisted Translation) Rigorous quality checks Un Consorzio Technical translations Computer Assisted Translation Technologies Check of layout File to translate File translated Automatic raw translation Partial translation suggested Format filters Segmentation Leverage TM Terminological database Un Consorzio Technical translations Advantages of using CAT technologies • Exploitation of text repetition • Reuse of material already translated • Stylistic and terminological coherence • Team of on-line translators • Integration of other software instruments • Productivity increase (30%) • Time-to-market reduction Un Consorzio e-Learning In order to satisfy the demands of our clients, Finmeccanica, Galileo Avionica and Ministero della Difesa, Thamus is developing a platform for Distance Training. Learning Management System is an instrument able to manage the different aspects relating to distance training. Course Management User Management Documentation Storage The LMS is in accordance with SCORM and AICC international standards for the implementation of on-line courses. Un Consorzio e-Services e-Learning Web Portals Un Consorzio e-Learning PLATFORM CHARACTERISTICS Course documentation repository accessible on-line Didactic materials in e-learning form (ADL SCORM) Tracing and reporting: • verification of use of the system • verification of interaction and user’s partecipation level Management functions (users management) News – Noticeboard – Interesting events Chat - Forum – Web conferences Streaming video On-line lessons (virtual classrooms) – Check tests Un Consorzio e-Learning Intranet PC Users Tutor Application Server Internet Support FAD THAMUS Platform PC Users Un Consorzio WEB portal Automatic Translation Computer Based Training Multimedia Manuals Logistics e-Terminology Un Consorzio Research Computational Linguistics Un Consorzio Research Computational linguistics THAMUS was founded as a Consortium for Computational Linguistics in 1988 with the aim to carry out research in industrial applications in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP). The Consortium’s activities concern the advanced research in Natural Language Processing on one hand and on the other planning and development of applications for language industry. Un Consorzio Research Computational Linguistics THAMUS takes part in research programmmes together with national and international Institutions. Thamus is registered since 1990 at the “Anagrafe Nazionale delle Ricerche” which is an Italian registry for research. Principal projects already concluded: Projects awaiting verification: CLIA ENEIDE EUROLANG SEALIS CLIPS Un Consorzio Research ENEIDE Project Electronic Network Environment for Interactive Document Engineering Presented at the MIUR (Ministero dell’Istruzione, dell’Università e della Ricerca). It aims at the creation of a distributed environment capable of offering the following services: Technical Documentation •Document realization •Homogeneity of texts On-Line Assistance e-Learning Our partner in realizing this project is the Department of Information and Electric Engineering of the University of Salerno. Un Consorzio Research SEALIS Project Search Engine for Advanced Learning and Information Systems IST-2004-2.4.7 Semantic based Knowledge and Content Systems The project aims at creating semantic applications capable of understanding the meaning of contents and guiding the user directly towards information searched for by using advanced strategies and through semantic queries. These searches can be carried out by means of an ontological structure which will represent the platform for identifying such information. Un Consorzio Research SEALIS Project Search Engine for Advanced Learning and Information Systems Our partners for the project realization: Università degli studi di Napoli “L’Orientale” Centro ICT di Ateneo – Università degli Studi di Salerno Technical University of Kosice Université de Franche-Comté GALILEO AVIONICA Un Consorzio
