FELICE CASORATI
BIOGRAFIA
Casorati , uno degli artisti italiani piu’celebri del ‘900, nasce a Novara il 4 dicembre 1883,
trascorre l'infanzia a Milano, Reggio Emilia, Sassari e infine a Padova dove si dedica agli studi
musicali.
Nel 1906 si laurea in legge all'Università di Padova, decidendo tuttavia di dedicarsi alla pittura
frequentando lo studio del pittore Giovanni Vianello. Nel 1917 si stabilisce definitivamente nella
collina torinese nel paese di Pavarolo .Qui il pittore ha vissuto un periodo di serenita’ che ha
trascorso rappresentando i panorami pavarolesi: colline, campi arati e la natura nei suoi vari
aspetti donando a Pavarolo un po’ di immortalita’.Nelle sue opere si esprime con forme nitide in
modo semplice cercando di rendere ogni immagine quotidiana e utilizzando tecniche elaborate ma
con un assoluto equilibrio cromatico. Oltre ai paesaggi e la natura Casorati rappresenta semplici
oggetti della vita quotidiana ; realizza inoltre con eleganza molti ritratti femminili . Nel 1942 è
insignito del premio per la pittura alla Biennale di Venezia. Muore a Torino I° marzo 1963.
BIOGRAFY
Casorati, one of the most famous italian artist of the ‘900, was born in Novara on the 4 of
December 1883, spent his childhood in Milan, Reggio Emilia, Sassari and finally in Padua where he
devoted himself to studying music. In 1906 he got a degree in Law at the university of Padua,
never the less, decided to devote himself to painting attending the studio of the painter
Giovanni Vianello. In 1917 he permanently settled in the hills of Turin in the little town of
Pavarolo. Here the artist experienced a period of serenity which he spent representing the
Pavarolesi views: hills, ploughed fields and nature in all its aspects giving a bit of immortality to
Pavarolo. In his works, he expresses himself with sharp simple forms trying to make each image
ordinary using developed techniques but with an absolute chromatic balance. In addition to
landscapes and nature Casorati represents simple objects of everyday life; he olso elegantly
produces many female portraits. In 1942 he was awanded the prize for painting at the Venice
Biennale. He died in Turin on the 1 of March 1963

UGO NESPOLO
BIOGRAFIA è un pittore e scultore italiano contemporaneo, nato a Mosso il 29 agosto 1941.
Esordisce nel panorama artistico italiano negli anni sessanta con una produzione che si
caratterizza presto per il forte accento trasgressivo, ironico e un apparente senso del
divertimento.Negli anni collabora con molti enti e associazioni come ad esempio un ospedale
psichiatrico, la Rai ,facendo video sigle e realizzazioni pubblicitarie, partecipando a prestigiose
rievocazioni storiche cavalleresche, quali il Palio di Asti e di Siena realizzando gli stendardi..Nel
teatro partecipa realizzando scene e costumi per il Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, dell’’Opera di
Parigi, Losanna, Liegi e Metz.Nel 2000 realizza il “suo”atelier all’interno di una fabbrica
abbandonata diTorino. Dal 2010 è socio onorario del movimento artistico letterario Immagine &
poesia, fondato a Torino sotto la presidenza di Aeronwy Thomas (figlia del grande poeta inglese
Dylan Thomas).Ugo Nespolo vive e lavora a TorIno.
BIOGRAFY he is a contemporary Italian painter and sculptor, born at Mosso (August 29, 1941)He
made his debut in the Italian art scene in the sixties with a production that is characterized by a
strong emphasis early transgressive, ironic, and an apparent sense of fun. Over the years he
collaborated with many institutions and associations such as creating a mental hospital; Rai
videos by initials and advertising initiatives; participating in prestigious pageants of chivalry, such
as, Asti Palio and Siena realizing banners. Participated in creating theater sets and costumes for
the Rome Opera, the Opera of Paris, Lausanne, Liege and Metz.In 2000 he realize «his
workshop»in abandoned factory of iTurin. Since 2010 is an honorary member of the artistic
movement literature & poetry Image, founded in Turin under the chairmanship of Aeronwy
Thomas (daughter of the great English poet Dylan Thomas)Ugo Nespolo lives and works inTurin.

Egli e’ nato a Chieri nel 1937. Le sue mostre personali sono iniziate nel 1973 a Torino,
Milano e Bologna. Per molti anni i suoi soggetti preferiti sono stati antiche cittadelle
medievali coloratissime ed abitate da animali magnifici e fantasiosi. Oggi il fulcro dei
suoi dipinti e’ dato dagli antichi monumenti delle citta’ trasfigurati in composizioni
d’invenzione. Egli si dedica anche all’oreficeria creando gioielli in oro con la tecnica a
cera persa.Ha anche realizzato molti murales di grandi dimensioni sia interni che
esterni usando colori acrilici

He was born in Chieri in 1937. His personal shows date back to 1973, in Turin, Milan
and Bologna . For many years his favourite subjects were ancient mediaeval towns
full of colour and inhabited by magnificent fantastic animals Today ancient
monuments in towns are still very much at the heart of his paintings, trasformed
into imaginative, invented composition. As well as a painter, he is also a goldsmith
creating jewels in gold use the cire perdue casting tecnique.
He has also produced numerous large indoor and outdoor murals using acrylic paints,
decorating scraves, evening bags, silk shirts and cushions, trays, telephone books,
etc with the same subjects.

AMEDEO MODIGLIANI
BIOGRAFIA nacque a Livorno il 12 luglio 1884 da una famiglia ebraica.E’ stato un pittore e
scultore italiano celebre per i suoi ritratti femminili caratterizzati da volti stilizzati e colli affusolati
e famoso per il suo lavoro rapido. Nel 1902 si iscrisse alla “Scuola libera di Nudo a Firenze” e un
anno dopo frequentò “L’Istituto per le Belle Arti di Venezia” Il 3 dicembre 1917 si tenne alla
Galleria Berthe Werll la prima mostra personale, ma la polizia di Parigi rimase scandalizzata dai
nudi di Modigliani e fece chiudere la mostra poche ore dopo l’apertura. Nello stesso anno trovò il
vero amore in Jeanne Hébuterne una pittrice in erba e insieme dipinsero ritratti l’uno dell’altro e
di tutti e due insieme.In seguito ad una vita afflitta da poverta’ morì il 24 gennaio 1920. Oggi
Modigliani è considerato uno dei più grandi artisti del XX secolo e le sue opere sono esposte nei
più grandi musei del mondo.
BIBLIOGRAFY he was born in Livorno, 12 July 1884 to a Jewish family. He was an Italian painter
and sculptor famous for his portraits of women characterized by stylized faces and tapered necks
and famous for his quick work. In 1902 he joined the "Free School of Nude in Florence" and a
year later he attended "The Institute for Fine Arts in Venice. On December 3, 1917 was held at
the Galerie Berthe Werll the first solo exhibition, but the Paris police was scandalized by
Modigliani's nudes and he closed the show a few hours after opening.In the same year he found
true love in a painter Jeanne Hebuterne with grass and painted portraits of each other and both
together. After a life of poverty, he died January 24, 1920. Modigliani is considered one of the
greatest artists of the twentieth century and his works are exhibited in major museums around
the world.

ANTONIO LIGABUE
BIOGRAFIA, il suo vero nome è Laccabue, nasce in Svizzera a Zurigo il 18 dicembre 1899.
Selvaggio, imprevedibile per il suo rapporto con il mondo e la realtà, per tutta la vita fu
considerato un matto fino ad essere espulso dalla Svizzera ed estradato in Italia. Per i disturbi
mentali di cui soffriva, Ligabue viveva completamente solo ed isolato e fu persino ricoverato in
manicomio. Un fortunato incontro di Antonio Ligabue con lo scultore Mazzacurati nel 1927, diede
una svolta finalmente alla sua vita sfortunata.Lo scultore, maestro insegnò a Ligabue l’uso dei
colori ad olio facendolo entrare nel mondo artistico. Negli anni fra il 1930 ed il 1940 Ligabue si
esprime anche con la scultura, trovando l’argilla nel fiume Po. Nel febbraio del 1961, a Roma,
viene fatta la prima grande personale di Antonio Ligabue che segna il definitivo successo
dell’artista.Nonostante la sua infermità, Ligabue continua a dipingere fino alla sua morte avvenuta
il 27 maggio 1965.
BIOGRAFY his real name is Laccabue was born in Switzerland in Zurich December 18, 1899. Wild,
unpredictable for his relationship with the world and reality, all his life he was considered crazy
until being expelled from Switzerland and extradited to Italy.For his mental disorders from which
he suffered, Ligabue lived completely alone and isolated and was even hospitalized in a mental
hospital. A chance meeting with the sculptor Antonio Ligabue Mazzacurati in 1927, gave a turn at
last to his unfortunate life.The sculptor, teacher taught to Ligabue the use of oil paints, helping
him to enter in the artistic world. In the years between 1930 and 1940 Ligabue is also expressed
by the sculpture, clay found in the river Po In February 1961, in Rome, was his first large solo
exposition by Antonio Ligabue, which marks the ultimate success of the artist.Despite his illness,
Ligabue continued to paint until his death May 27, 1965.
