Progetto e-gomotion 2013 Team saetta mcqueen Exploitation of wastewater produced in a town Project by: -Doglioli Alberto -Rossi Edoardo -Peduto Chiara -Agcaoili Ralph -Frezet Filippo We have chosen the community of S. Mauro Torinese, a town of 19000 inhabitants in the subburbs of Turin This community produce 208.22 tons of CO2 daily CO2 emission in S. Mauro area Private vehicles municipality transports Other Our aim is to decrease the emission of CO2 The School buses provided by the municipality represent our target We can obtain the decrase of CO2 emission by using electrical buses and our pilot scheme is a plant that uses biomass to produce energy The wastewater from the town is at the moment piped to sewage system and it’s channeled to a purification plant. Our treatment plant will be connected directly to the sawage system in oreder to obtain the raw material to be transformed in green energy In the picture on the right you can see the area choosen to build the plant We visited a well working establishment in Cavallermaggiore (CN) where the energy resulting from dung fermentation is produced . Biosolids treatment produce gas that is piped into a generator unit which transform it into electrical energy A single silo contein 30.000 tons of biosolids. The production cycle last 45 days The generator unit produces 1000kw/h To improve our plant we will use even the compost heap Raw material used by our plant Biosolids - 213.750 Kg Compost heap - 974.700 Kg H2O - 4.275.000 Kg TOT= 5.463.450 Kg (5.463 t) Using 5463 tons of sewage we’ll produce about 197 kw/h School buses will be feeded during the night and the energy produced during the day will be exploited to power other municipality services (for exemple mail delivery).
