Il progetto Nepocs
Questa tesi è nata nell'ambito di un importante progetto
svolto dal gruppo Nepocs “Political Information
Opportunities in Europe - A Longitudinal and
Comparative Study of Thirteen Television Systems”.
Lo studio mette in evidenza il ruolo decisivo che giocano
tv e stampa nel dare l'informazione politica.

Il pre-test
Anche il progetto Nepocs, prima di prendere il via vero
e proprio, ha previsto una fase di organizzazione della
rilevazione

Dove e quando?
Le fonti presentano caratteristiche diverse: tre quotidiani
con diversi orientamenti politici due telegiornali (uno
pubblico e uno privato). La data scelta è il 15-02-12

This variable should be coded for the first five actors appearing
in a news story. Actors can be individuals (e.g. individual
politicians), as well as organizations, groups and institutions (e.g.
a political party).
The variable has four codes: (1) ‘mentioned’, (2) ‘quoted’, (3)
‘shown in picture and mentioned or quoted (but not speaking)’
(television: image-bites or lip-flaps; newspapers: picture shown;
radio: not applicable), (4) ‘shown while speaking or interviewed’
(television, radio: sound bite; newspapers: interview). Coders
should code the highest applicable category (i.e. if an actor is
‘mentioned’ and ‘shown in picture’, the code to be chosen is ‘2’).
With these data, the relative share of appearances can be
computed for each party (party actor appearances or all actor
appearances).

Conclusioni
Il pre-test ha permesso di fare emergere alcuni
problemi del code-book che, con alcune
correzioni, potrebbe migliorare la qualità e la
veridicità dei dati rilevati
