Motivazione della scelta
I Radiohead
I Radiohead sono un
gruppo musicale rock
inglese proveniente
dall'Oxfordshire e
formatosi nel 1985.
Fino al 1992, quando
cambiarono nome,
erano noti come On a
Friday. Hanno venduto
più di 30 milioni di
dischi in tutto il mondo.
I Radiohead non hanno
uno stile determinato,
ma varia a seconda
degli album.
Ad esempio nell’album
Amnesiac hanno uno
stile più vicino
all’elettronica rispetto a
Pablo Honey che è più
britpop.
Generalmente la loro
musica è rock
alternativo.
Thom Yorke
E’ il leader e la voce solista della band.
Suona principalmente chitarra elettrica,
chitarra acustica e pianoforte.
Thom Yorke è affetto da una paralisi
congenita all’occhio sinistro che diverrà
poi il suo tratto somatico inconfondibile.
Nel 2008, Thom è stato inserito al 66°
posto nella lista dei 100 migliori cantanti
secondo la rivista Rolling Stone.
Johnny Greenwood
E’ il chitarrista solista della
band.
E’ il fratello minore di Colin
Greenwood, ed è stato
l’ultimo a entrare nella
band ma attualmente è al
centro dell’attività
musicale; tutti gli
arrangiamenti passano da
lui e molte linee melodiche
sono state composte da
lui.
Colin Greenwood
Solitamente suona il basso
anche se negli ultimi anni si è
esibito anche alla tastiera, al
campionatore ed al
sintetizzatore.
Ed O’Brien
Suona la chitarra, le percussioni e
spesso aiuta Thom Yorke nelle
armonie vocali. E’ conosciuto per la
sua collezione di effetti per chitarra,
importanti per la creazione del
suono inconfondibile dei
Radiohead.
Philip Selway
Ha il ruolo di batterista e
occasionalmente quello di
terza voce nella band. I suoi
tempi e la varietà batteristica
hanno contribuito a dare alla
band il suo sound.
Nel 2008 è stato nominato
come il ventiseiesimo più
grande batterista di tutti i
tempi dalla rivista Gigwise.

Motivazione della scelta
Abbiamo scelto di fare
una presentazione sui
Radiohead perché oltre
ad essere una delle
nostre band preferite,
ha avuto un ruolo molto
importante nella storia
del rock.
Vorremmo anche
ricordarli, dato che in
questi ultimi anni sono
stati dimenticati come
la maggior parte delle
rock band.
