“Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 is an
enterprise product that combines corporate instant messaging
(IM), presence, federation, conferencing, group chat, group
response, an attendant console, and telephony (Voice over IP,
or VoIP) in a fully integrated Unified Communications (UC)
Solution. It can integrate with existing Private Branch
eXchange (PBX) infrastructures to leverage the investment in
communications that organizations have already made.”

notifica che contiene anche il nome di chi ha risposto.

Consente la definizione team di inoltro e la gestione del
flusso da parte di un team leader:
Ring Leader, Then Ring Team.
Ring Team only during Working Hours.
Ring Team when Leader Status Is Set to Do Not Disturb.
Ring Team when Leader Status Is Set to Offline.
Calls from Specific Callers Do Not Go to Team Calls.

l’implementazione di sistemi di IVR.
Offre diversi algoritmi di accodamento: serial, longestidle, parallel e round robin.

Consente la connessione di una rete Voice a un service
provider senza la necessità di gateway .

Novità: R2 è solo a 64 bit! Tutti i ruoli elencati prima vanno
sullo stesso server di front end!
Posso partire con una configurazione semplice con solo due
server: singolo front end OCS 2007 R2 e singolo SQL server
2008.
Se il carico sale, posso scalare aggiungendo semplicemente
nuovi server di front end.
Lo stesso per i server Edge: tutti eseguono gli stessi ruoli.

Group Chat, Compliance e Archiving
Se si vuole implementare le funzionalità di Group Chat (sessioni IM
persistenti) è necessario aggiungere un Group Chat Server che esegue i
seguenti ruoli:
Lookup Server.
Channel Server.
Web Service.
Se è necessario implementare la gestione della compliance è necessario
installare un server aggiuntivo con il ruolo di:
Compliance Server.
Se viene attivata l’archiviazione delle sessioni IM va installato un server
con il ruolo di:
Archiving Server.
Questi tre servizi (Group Chat, Compliance e Archiving) possono
condividere lo stesso SQL Server.

Non è più supportato il servizio NLB di Windows: è
necessario dotarsi di un bilanciatore hardware

Veramente completo e riscritto.
Apre la strada alla fornitura di servizi voce professionali in outsourcing.
Implementa nuove funzionalità:
Opzioni per la personalizzazione della user interface: gli amministratori
possono modificare la pagina di logon, i tab e i menù del Communicator
Web Access.
Supporto per i distribution groups: gli utenti possono aggiungere i
distribution groups alla lista dei e scambiare IM con i gruppi.
Audio conferencing: Communicator Web Access può avviare ricevere e
controllare audio conference.
Desktop sharing: gli utenti possono avviare sessioni di desktop sharing
usando il Web client.
Web page per l'hosting di Dial-in Conferencing: la funzionalità di dial-in
conferencing in Office Communications Server 2007 R2 include una pagina
web page per gli utenti gestita dal server Communicator Web Access.

Office Communicator Mobile for Java è un nuovo
messaging client basato su Java Platform Micro Edition.
Consente ai telefoni che non supportano il client nativo di
agire come terminali unified communications, offrendo
servizi di instant messaging (IM), presenza e voce.

Vedere la lista dei contatti on line e chiamarli con un click.
Vedere la presenza dei contatti.
Fare ricerche nella Directory e chiamare con un click.

aziendale (singolo numero).
Ridirigere le chiamate in arrivo verso la Voice Mail.
ricevere notifiche sulla presenza di messaggi non letti
nella Voice Mail.
Iniziare conversazioni IM e invitare altri partecipanti (IM
Conferences).

Che bello! Che bello! Che bello!
È stato semplificato il deployment migliorando le
funzionalità presenti e implementando nuovi servizi.
Il nuovo Web client apre la possibilità di fornire servizi
enterprise in outsourcing.
Attenzione: è solo a 64 bit!
