La stampante 3D a plastica riciclata
Le stampanti bidimensionali sono ormai cose che appartengono al passato. Dopo
Makerbot, che ha realizzato un dispositivo per la creazione di fotoritratti 3D, ecco
Filabot,, una macchina che ricicla gli oggetti in plastica di utilizzo comune per
adoperarli come materiale per le nuove stampanti tridimensionali.
Attualmente, le stampanti 3D costano all'incirca tra 300 e 2000 euro. Il che non

sarebbe nemmeno tanto per poter creare i propri soldatini preferiti, o action figures, o
qualsiasi altro oggetto vi venga in mente, il problema sta però nel materiale da
utilizzare (un po' come le costosissime
costosissime cartucce per le stampanti a inchiostro).

Makerbot fa pagare un chilo di filamenti di plastica 36 euro, un po' tanto se
consideriamo che adesso esiste almeno un'alternativa.
Ci ha pensato Filabot con un macchinario
macchinario in grado di prendere (ad esempio) le
bottiglie di plastica, triturarle e trasformarle in filamenti da 3 o 1,75mm col quale
alimentare la stampante 3D. Filabot è uno dei tanti progetti finanziati attraverso una
campagna su Kickstarter che ha raccolto 32.000 dollari (addirittura il triplo di quanto
proposto dagli inventori), ma che poi ha seguito la sorte di tanti altri progetti, subendo
dei ritardi. Le ultime notizie, però, sembrano incoraggianti: un mese fa il produttore ha
ricevuto le basi in metallo, probabilmente la produzione inizierà a breve.

Comunicazioni QARTest
Black Sea Cup International Contest
Questo contest, che personalmente ho scoperto solo l'anno scorso, e'
piuttosto frequentato e movimentato.
I moltiplicatori sono le zone ITU, i Membri del Black Sea Club ed i
country DXCC i cui fiumi hanno le acque che sfociano (anche attraverso
altri fiumi) nel Mar nero (l'Italia e' tra questi).
L'abbondanza di moltiplicatori, unita a quella dei partecipanti, lo rende
a mio avviso un contest da provare. Si tranquillizzino quelli che su mio
consiglio hanno provato il RAEM di Dicembre e che sono rimasti
perplessi per la complessità dei rapporti da scambiare: qui lo scambio
prevede solo la zona ITU che, usando la barra spaziatrice, viene
proposta automaticamente. I membri del Black Sea Club, invece,
passeranno il loro numero di appartenenza (BSxxx), anche questo
memorizzato in un apposito database.

Anno nuovo, nuova fiera e di conseguenza nuovi impegni per il Consiglio Direttivo,
che, in previsione dell'attivazione, nell'area del Monte d'Aria del nuovo ponte radio
RU31 431.600 + 1600 , connesso con il Link regionale, abbiamo ritenuto opportuno
partecipare a questa Fiera Radiantistica di Fermo, per farci conoscere dai
radioamatori di questa provincia marchigiana.

La Sezione CISAR Ancona, grazie alla disponibilità della Margest nella persona della
Sign. Rosella, sarà presente con uno spazio espositivo dove attenderemo i nostri Soci
e quanti volessero informazioni sulle attività del C.I.S.A.R., e sul mondo
Radioamatoriale, tra le altre cose, farà sfoggio di se, il nuovo monitor da 42" su cui
faremo girare filmati delle nostre attività Radiantistiche e vedere l'ubicazione dei
nostri impianti radiantistici.
Vorrei informare tutti i Soci che sarà attivo anche il mercatino di scambio fra privati,
pertanto, chi ha materiale Radiantistico o CB di cui si vuol "liberare" può approfittare
dello spazio, che come Sezione, lasceremo a sua disposizione
disposizione senza spese.

A caccia della vita nel sottosuolo di Marte:

E' nel sottosuolo che bisogna cercare la vita su Marte o nei luoghi dove i materiali che
si trovavano in profondità sono stati portati in superficie dalle acque sotterranee. E'
quanto sostiene uno studio pubblicato sulla rivista Nature Geoscience e condotto da
un gruppo di ricerca coordinato dal britannico Joseph Michalski, dell'Istituto di
Scienze Planetarie di Tucson, in Arizona, e del Museo di Storia Naturale di Londra. La
ricerca si è basata sui dati del satellite della Nasa Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (Mro),
dal 2005 in orbita attorno al pianeta rosso .
Sottosuolo marziano era abbastanza umido da poter ospitare la vita - Nel momento in
cui la fotosintesi e la vita facevano la loro comparsa sulla Terra, la superficie marziana
diventava estremamente inospitale, ma il sottosuolo di Marte era sufficientemente
umido e potrebbe aver contenuto un habitat favorevole alla vita. Gli indizi
dell'abitabilità del sottosuolo del pianeta rosso potrebbero essere conservati nei
sedimenti superficiali che sono stati modificati dai fluidi che scorrevano nel
sottosuolo e sgorgavano in superficie, oppure dai materiali che si trovavano in
profondità nella crosta marziana e sono stati portati in superficie dalla risalita delle
acque. Questi materiali dovrebbero quindi essere, sottolineano i ricercatori, obiettivi
primari per future missioni spaziali a caccia di prove di vita su Marte.
Nel cratere McLaughlin le tracce della risalita delle acque profonde - I ricercatori
hanno elaborato un modello per individuare i punti nei quali, sul Pianeta Rosso,
sarebbe avvenuta la risalita delle acque profonde. Un esempio di questi sedimenti si
trova nel cratere McLaughlin. Del diametro di 92 chilometri e profondo 2,2 chilometri,
è uno dei più profondi crateri di Marte. Contiene depositi di argille ricche di magnesio,
ferro e carbonati che sarebbero stati generati dalla risalita di acque sotterranee.
Vita nel sottosuolo marziano potrebbero contribuire a chiarie processi chimici che
hanno fatto nascere la vita - L'esplorazione dell'abitabilità del sottosuolo marziano
potrebbe inoltre fornire, rilevano gli esperti, informazioni critiche sui processi
geochimici in azione nel giovanissimo Sistema Solare, compresa la Terra. Le indagini

processi chimici che hanno fatto nascere la vita.

grazie a questa esperienza ha già firmato un articolo pubblicato dalla prestigiosa
rivista Nature. Qualcuno dei alcuni media francesi, come la radio Rtl o l'emittente tv
Tf1, si spinge molto più in là arrivando a ipotizzare che possa diventare il nuovo
Einstein.
Lo studio del 15enne, il cui primo firmatario è il padre di Neil Rodrigo, ha scoperto che
intorno alla galassia Andromeda ruotano molte piccole galassie nane, che formano un
disco perfetto. Il contributo di Neil, afferma il padre in un'intervista al quotidiano
locale "L'Alsace", è stato determinante: "Alla fine dell'estate ho voluto insegnargli a

Emergenza globale Amateur Radio Conference - 2013
Nella Regione IARU 1 Greg G0DUB riferisce sulla conferenza GAREC 2013, che si
svolgerà dal 25 al 28 giugno a Zurigo.
Il Global Amateur Radio Emergency Conferenza (GAREC) è il principale evento
annuale di partecipazione di coloro che hanno un interesse per la radio amatoriale
per fornire comunicazioni di emergenza durante gli esercizi di addestramento o in
caso di calamità reale.
La prima volta è stata nel 2005, la conferenza
conferenza ha avuto luogo in tutte e tre le regioni
IARU ed è stata aperta a tutti i gruppi di emergenza di comunicazione.
Nel 2013 ritorna il GAREC nella Regione 1 della IARU e si terrà a Zurigo, in Svizzera.

Il sistema è bellissimo e molto comodo perché è tutto automatico; in pratica gli
attivatori inviano il log ai loro rispettivi manager o a chi per essi che a loro volta
inviano i log al manager del WCA RN1CW Andrew, Se in questi log c’è il vostro
nominativo, siete automaticamente nella classifica delle acquisizioni.

Se consultando il log verificate che il vostro punteggio è per 300 castelli, dopo la
richiesta riceverete via e-mail tutti i diplomi acquisiti dalla base di 50 castelli, il 100,

Il sistema è talmente comodo che in teoria non ci sarebbe nemmeno bisogno di

If you have this right, you can request the certificate directly from the page itself where you're
consulting the log.
The system is beautiful and very convenient as it is fully automatic : in practice activators send
their logs to their respective managers or to the hams in charge that in turn send the logs to the
manager of the WCA RN1CW Andrew. If your call is found on that log , you are automatically in
the list of acquisitions. The heaviest task is clicking on the request.

Il protone è più piccolo di quanto
immaginato finora
Importanti misurazioni per lo studio l’atomo di idrogeno, elemento base di
molte teorie della fisica.
Un esperimento coordinato dallo svizzero Aldo Antognini del Politecnico di Zurigo e
dell’Istituto di Ottica quantistica del Max Planck Institut a Garching e pubblicato su
Science e ha provato che il protone, la particella di carica positiva che compone il
nucleo dell’atomo, è il 4% più piccolo rispetto a quanto si immaginava.
Conoscere la misura del raggio del protone - spiega all’Ansa Antognini - è molto
importante per la fisica perché aiutare a comprendere
comprendere meglio come è fatto l’atomo di
idrogeno che per la sua semplicità, essendo formato solo da un protone e da un
elettrone, è considerato un atomo modello per la fisica e per questo è alla base di
molte teorie’’.
Per misurare il raggio del protone, i ricercatori hanno usato una tecnica nuova per
questo tipo di test conducendo esperimenti sull’idrogeno muonico, un atomo che a

differenza dell’idrogeno che è composto di un protone e di un elettrone, è costituito
da un protone e da un muone (che è 200 volte più pesante dell’elettrone).
«Il fatto che il muone è più pesante dell’elettrone - rileva Antognini - fa sì che le orbite
del muone siano molto più vicine al protone e ciò le rende più sensibili alla grandezza
del protone».
Nell’esperimento i ricercatori hanno prima creato gli atomi di idrogeno muonico
nell’acceleratore di particelle dell’istituto Paul Scherrer a Zurigo.

La crisi del mercato dei Pc dimostrata dai dati di vendita di Idc e di Gartner , e dai
risultati finanziari di Apple, Hp e Intel, ha decretato una revisione dei piani di sviluppo

guadagni. In particolare, Intel ha registrato utili per 2,6 miliardi, in calo del 27%
rispetto alla stessa fascia temporale dell’anno precedente quando il dato aveva
toccato i 3,4 miliardi e, a detta della stessa azienda, ad avere pesato è stata, tra gli
altri, la flessione della domanda di Pc.
Intel corre ai ripari rivedendo i piani di sviluppo che comunque passano per un

tablet. Il Ceo di Intel Italia, Dario Bucci, ha dichiarato all’Ansa che già quest’anno

A fronte degli investimenti sui nuovi orizzonti, l’azienda americana decide di
abbandonare la produzione di schede madri per computer da scrivania entro il 2015.
L’insieme di circuiti stampati, transistor e banchi di memoria che compongono la

circa 20 anni Intel ne ha prodotte a marchio proprio, oltre a essere stata il leader

Ora, nell’anno in cui si celebra il 60esimo anniversario di quel successo, dallo stesso
ateneo che lo ha partorito arriva un’altra grossa novità sul Dna. È un passo avanti che

futuro». Ad alimentare le speranze degli scienziati c’è anche il fatto che,
«intrappolando con molecole sintetiche queste strutture di Dna quadruplex, riusciamo
a sequestrarle e a stabilizzarle», interferendo in qualche modo con il processo di
replicazione cellulare.
Tra l’altro studi precedenti hanno dimostrato che un gene iperattivo, con alti livelli di
Dna a 4 fili, è anche più vulnerabile a interferenze esterne. «Ciò - aggiunge il capo
laboratorio - avvalora l’ipotesi che alcuni geni del cancro possono essere “infastiditi”
attraverso piccole molecole capaci di legare particolari sequenze di Dna». E adesso,

I microrganismi come batteri e funghi sono numerosissimi anche in alta quota dove
potrebbero avere un forte impatto sulla formazione di nubi e sul clima. A scoprire che
l'atmosfera terrestre, a circa 8-14 chilometri dal suolo, pullula di microrganismi, è uno
studio pubblicato sulla rivista dell'Accademia di Scienze degli Stati Uniti (Pnas) e
coordinato da Natasha DeLeon-Rodriguez del Georgia Institute of Technology, ad
Atlanta. Se le comunità di microrganismi vengono trasportate solo temporaneamente
in alta quota dai venti non è ancora chiaro ma se vivono normalmente in questa
porzione di atmosfera, secondo gli esperti, potrebbero nutrirsi dei composti di
carbonio onnipresenti nell'atmosfera, come l'acido ossalico. In ogni caso la scoperta è
interessante perché i microrganismi potrebbero svolgere un ruolo nella formazione di
ghiaccio e nubi e quindi possono avere un impatto sul clima.
Batteri nell'atmosfera responsabili forse anche della trasmissione delle malattie - Il

Lo studio è stato possibile grazie ad un'altra ricerca della Nasa - I ricercatori hanno
analizzato campioni raccolti nella parte superiore della troposfera durante un
programma della Nasa chiamato 'Genesis and Rapid Intensification Processes'. A
bordo di un aereo che ha volato sia sugli oceani sia sulle aree continentali, un sistema
di filtri ha raccolto dall'area esterna particelle e microrganismi. I campioni sono stati
raccolti sia nelle masse d'aria nuvolose, sia nelle masse d'aria senza nuvole, prima,
durante, e dopo due grandi uragani tropicali Earl e Karl del 2010. Il materiale raccolto
è stato esaminato anche con tecniche di sequenziamento genetico che hanno
permesso di individuare i microrganismi e stimare le quantità.
Dall'analisi è emerso che i campioni contenevano numerose cellule batteriche e
fungine - Sono stati individuati 17 gruppi diversi di batteri, tra cui alcuni in grado di
metabolizzare l'acido ossalico. I batteri rilevati nei campioni rappresentano il 20%
delle particelle che in precedenza si pensava fossero sale marino o polvere. E' stato
scoperto, inoltre, che le comunità batteriche significativamente diverse
caratterizzavano i campioni relativi ai due uragani, suggerendo che tali eventi
atmosferici possono trasportare i microrganismi su vaste distante continentali.
