In questo periodo la pubblicità contribuisce notevolmente alla nascente democrazia in quanto rende alla portata di tutti il privilegio dell'informazione, chiunque può fare un annuncio, diventare visibile, entrare nel mercato senza strutture intermedie e selettive, inoltre funziona come un acceleratore verso il processo di industrializzazione.
