Our women’s group is composed by women
between 17 and 47 years old, with family,
economical, social and cultural difficulties.
These women, although many disadvantages,
are people that are tryng to exploit their own
capacities in order to integrate thereselves
and live better in Siracusa.
A lot of them was born in Siracusa, while
someone come from other country: Romania,
Eritrea, Polonia.
Someone lives in comunity.

They are almost all mother, a lot of them works
as colf, someone has attended to course of
vocational training in order to learn new ability
and put themselves to the test.
Almost all have a difficult story to narrate,
many women are still living it.
So, we think that “WYN” could be for them a
further opportunity of expression and
comparison between them and european
women, to develop personal and social ability.

The laboratory to inquire needs is made by a
questionnaire.
We have asked to women to answer to
questions and after they have discussed in
couple.
The aim of the questionnaire is the analysis
of the past, the present and the future and to
make a personal balance.

From this laboratory is emerged that our
women have common needs and similar
dreams.
They believe to posses other qualities to
offer to the society

husband because they have spent a difficult
past of abandon or violence.

it or organising it better, to make sure their
sons.
 They would like to learn using computer,
english language and understand how find a
new work with their possibilities.

 Many desire a flat because they live in family
home. Others desire a better flat.
 Many have even a little hope to find a right

difficulties, to know different ways to live

ENGLISH TIME!
“English time” is a space, created to give the
right tools to the girls in order to make
presentations, to learn new vocabulary items,
and to use interrogative forms, in particular colours and
to requests of scissors, felt or markers ( objects used
during the creativity laboratory) using the auxiliary verb
"can".
We have thought these short english lessons
to give them simple and basic ways to
communicate between them (somebody doesn’t speak
italian) and later with the other european women.

“WYN” AND THE MOVIE
As “Logos Association” the movie is for “WYN
project” and for our women’s group a beautiful
occasion.
It represents a real parallelism between the
research of meaning and harmony that everybody
search in life and the meaning and the harmony
of quilt’s pieces.
 The importance of the narration
In the movie, the narration consents the
research of coherence of the events of life.
The narration is, infact, as LOGOS, a precious
instrument of research of meaning, above all
when it consents to tell to other people
that share the same problems and, therefore,
they listen with respect and attention.
 The importance of women!
In the movie, it isn’t a case that who tell are
women!
The women have the art to tell herselfs and to tell
to others, to share their emotions, to listen to
other people.
This art of women is, according to us, a resource
that is in our country, above all in this period, to
encourage and remember.

THE BLANCHET: the meaning
Our blanchet wants to represent the vitality of women,
their ability to create, change and make new things.
For us this creativity is represented by butterflyes.
If each butterfly, young or mature, simple or
complicated, happy or sad, is joining to other butterflies,
it can do big things togheter.
The trees and the flowers represent the growth that we
wish to our women in this project and in their life.
THE BLANCHET: the manufacture
Our blanchet is created on a cloth in which we
have sewed pictures of flowers and batterflyies
with the skill of “cross stitch”.
Then we have sewed colored butterfly and
flowers made by felt on a green limb of felt.
Some butterfly is made on knitted work.
