A TORINO E IN PIEMONTE
Nell’autunno del 2007 abbiamo scelto di dare maggiore forza al sistema dell’arte contemporanea locale lanciando il marchio Contemporary Arts Torino Piemonte, un contenitore
che raggruppa le iniziative legate alla contemporaneità programmate nel periodo ottobre dicembre, al fine di comunicare in maniera uniforme ed efficace la straordinaria offerta del
nostro territorio.
Da alcuni anni infatti, Torino e più in generale il Piemonte, vengono considerati un punto
di riferimento internazionale per l’arte contemporanea vista la vitalità delle istituzioni
pubbliche e private operanti nel campo delle arti figurative, della musica, del cinema, del
teatro e delle performing arts.
Contemporary 2008 si presenta con un calendario ancora più ricco e vario all’insegna delle
arti contemporanee e della contaminazione tra i diversi linguaggi. In programma quest’anno,
tra i vari appuntamenti, T2 Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea di Torino e del Piemonte, che,
giunta alla seconda edizione avrà come titolo: “50 lune di Saturno”.
E poi, naturalmente, un’Artissima sempre più grande evento culturale e non solo commerciale.
Sull’onda del festival MITO Settembre Musica, espressione della volontà di due grandi città
di sviluppare varie forme di cooperazione, le Camere di Commercio di Milano e di Torino
hanno manifestato interesse a sperimentare questo connubio anche sul tema dell’arte
contemporanea. Un primo passo verrà fatto quest’anno, con la Triennale di Milano e la
Triennale Bovisa, che verranno ospitate nella programmazione di Contemporary Arts con le
mostre di Alberto Burri e Guido Crepax.
In the Autumn of 2007, to reinforce the local contemporary art system, we decided to launch
the Contemporary Arts Torino Piemonte brand, a container that groups together contemporary
art initiatives planned in the period October - December, in order to promote uniform,
effective communication of the extraordinary offer of our territory.
The vitality of public and private institutions operating in the field of the figurative arts,
music, cinema, theatre and the performing arts have earned Torino, and more generally,
Piemonte, the status of an international reference point for contemporary art.
Contemporary 2008 is an even more well-packed, multi-faceted roster of contemporary art
and of contamination of various languages. This year, the various appointments include T2
Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea di Torino e del Piemonte which, now at its second edition,
will be entitled: “50 lune di Saturno”.
And obviously, Artissima which is always a major cultural and not simply commercial event.
Along the lines of the MITO Settembre Musica festival, which reflects the will of two large
cities to develop various forms of cooperation, the Chambers of Commerce of Milano and
Torino have expressed their interest in adopting this formula also for contemporary art.
A first step in this direction will be taken this year with the Triennale di Milano and
the Triennale Bovisa which will be included in the Contemporary Arts programme with the
exhibitions of Alberto Burri and Guido Crepax.

T - Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea
“T - Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea”, giunta alla seconda edizione, è la rassegna triennale d’arte contemporanea internazionale organizzata dal Castello di Rivoli Museo
d’Arte Contemporanea, dalla Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo e dalla Fondazione
Torino Musei. La seconda edizione di “T” rafforza l’impegno delle istituzioni organizzatrici a lavorare in sinergia a favore dell’arte contemporanea.
L’obiettivo di “T” è di creare un dialogo fra le proposte più sperimentali e giovani
dell’arte contemporanea e il lavoro di artisti che hanno raggiunto una maturità di
linguaggio e un riconoscimento internazionale, altresì di sviluppare ulteriormente lo
scambio culturale tra Torino, il Piemonte e il mondo d’oggi.
T - Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea
“T - Modern art triennial”, which is now in its second edition, is an international modern
art triennial exhibition organized by the Rivoli Castle Modern Art Museum, the
Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and the Fondazione Torino Musei. The second
edition of “T” features a renewed commitment by the organizing bodies to work together
in order to promote modern art.
The aim of “T” is to create a common dialogue between the newest, most experimental
ideas in modern art and the work of internationally acclaimed artists who have reached
a certain maturity. It also provides the opportunity to further extend the cultural exchange
between Torino, the Piemonte region and today’s world.
T2 Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea di Torino e del Piemonte si articola in due parti.
Una prima parte prevede due mostre dedicate ad artisti già affermati a livello internazionale. Per questa edizione verranno presentati l’artista danese Olafur Eliasson che
esporrà al Castello di Rivoli, e il cino-americano Paul Chan presso la Fondazione
Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
Olafur Eliasson ritenuto tra i maggiori artisti contemporanei studia l’esperienza percettiva che specifichi fenomeni naturali attraverso l’utilizzo di materiali quali l’acqua, la
luce, la pressione e la temperatura. Avvalendosi anche della collaborazione di architetti
internazionali, elabora complessi progetti complessi architettonici e articolate operazioni
che riflettono sull’identità dell’oggetto e della sua forma e in certi casi della sua
materializzazione.
Paul Chan ritenuto un’attivista impegnato e un’artista di fama internazionale nel suo
lavoro analizza criticamente il ruolo dell’arte in politica e nella società verso la quale
prova responsabilità e appartenenza. Attraverso più mezzi e tecniche espressive, come
l’animazione, il film, l’installazione luminosa, il disegno e il collage elabora un linguaggio
visivo poetico che affronta una lettura complessa della realtà contemporanea.
La seconda parte della rassegna, allestita alla Promotrice delle Belle Arti, presenta le
opere di cinquanta giovani artisti di tutto il mondo che esporranno lavori e progetti in
molti casi inediti e sperimentali.
T2 Triennale d’Arte Contemporanea di Torino e del Piemonte is in two parts.
The first part involves two exhibitions dedicated to internationally acclaimed artists.
This edition will feature the Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, who will be exhibiting at
Rivoli Castle, and the Chinese - American Paul Chan, whose work will be on show at
the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation.
Olafur Eliasson, who is considered to be one of the leading contemporary artists, studies the perceptive experience of natural phenomena through the use of elements such
as water, light, pressure and temperature. He also collaborates with internationally
renowned architects, developing complex architectural projects and detailed operations
that reflect the identity of the object and its form, and, in certain cases, its materialisation.
Paul Chan, who is considered a committed activist, is an artist of international fame.
His works provide a critical analysis of the role of art in politics and in society, for which
he feels responsibility and a sense of belonging. Through a series of means and expressive techniques, such as animation, film, light installations, drawings and collages, he has
created a visual poetic style that offers a complex interpretation of contemporary reality.
The second part of the exhibition (at Promotrice delle Belle Arti) will present the
works of fifty young artists from all over the world, who will be exhibiting works and
projects that are, in many cases, totally new and experimental.

T2 - 50 lune di Saturno
Questa edizione della Triennale T2 è curata da Daniel Birnbaum, critico d’arte e curatore
indipendente, attualmente Rettore della Städelschule Art Academy e di Portikus Gallery
di Francoforte e Direttore della 53a Biennale di Venezia, sezione Arti Visive.
50 lune di Saturno è una mostra sull’ispirazione, sull’assimilazione e sulla ribellione.
Comprende circa cinquanta artisti di ogni parte del mondo appartenenti a tutte le discipline. Anche se spesso pervase di un tono malinconico, le opere selezionate non rivelano
affatto uno spirito introspettivo o apolitico. Trovarsi sotto l’influsso cosmico di Saturno
- “l’astro della malinconia” - significa molte cose diverse, spesso apparentemente
contrastanti. L’animo saturnino è cupo e depresso, è tuttavia ispirato e raggiante;
passivo e fondamentalmente negativo, e tuttavia ribelle e magnificamente produttivo.
Tradizionalmente connessa al temperamento dell’artista, la malinconia è uno stato
d’animo ambivalente e sconcertante, dal quale scaturisce la sensazione che una trasformazione radicale sia possibile nonostante tutto. È lo stato d’animo dell’ispirazione.
La mostra avrà luogo in tre sedi: il Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea,
la Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo e la Palazzina della Società Promotrice
delle Belle Arti. Per T2 il curatore Daniel Birnbaum si è ispirato a Saturno, l’astro della
malinconia, creando una nuova geografia del mondo contemporaneo, una costellazione
di artisti che lavorano nel segno dell’ambivalenza.
T2 - 50 lune di Saturno
This edition of the Triennale T2, will be directed by Daniel Birnbaum, an art critic and
independent curator, who is currently the Rector of the Städelschule Art Academy and
the Portikus Gallery of Frankfurt and Director of the 53rd Biennial of Venice, Visual Arts
section.
“50 lune di Saturno” is an exhibition of inspiration, assimilation and rebellion. It involves about fifty artists from all over the world belonging to all disciplines. Although
the selected works are often rather melancholic, they do not in any way reflect an
introspective or apolitical spirit. Being under the cosmic influence of Saturn - “the star
of melancholy” - signifies many different things which are often contrasting.
The Saturn spirit is gloomy and depressed, whilst at the same time inspired and radiant;
it is passive and fundamentally negative, whilst rebellious, as well as wonderfully
productive. Whilst melancholy has always traditionally been linked to the typical a
rtist’s temperament, melancholy is an ambivalent and perplexing state, which gives the
sensation that a radical transformation is possible, despite everything. This is because
it also gives rise to inspiration.
The exhibition will take place in three venues: Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte
Contemporanea, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and the Palazzina della Società
Promotrice delle Belle Arti. For T2, the curator Daniel Birnbaum has been inspired by
Saturn the star of melancholy, creating a new geography of the contemporary world,
and a constellation of artists that work under the banner of ambivalence.

128 le gallerie quest’anno presenti in Fiera a Torino con i nomi più attuali e di spicco del
mercato dell’ arte.
Le sezioni speciali di Artissima 15 vedranno: Present Future, 17 artisti emergenti del
panorama mondiale; New Entries, giovani gallerie d’avanguardia per la prima volta
a Torino; Constellations, grandi opere a carattere museale in mostra; Video Lounge,
rassegna di video di artisti di fama mondiale e per la prima volta Italian Wave,
un’iniziativa riservata a tutti gli artisti di nazionalità italiana under 35, selezionati
attraverso un grande concorso nazionale.
Quest’anno, anziché il tradizionale programma di convegni, Artissima proporrà L’école
de Stéphanie, a cura di Stéphanie Moisdon: vere lezioni, dialoghi e performance in uno
spazio d’artista con la partecipazione di filosofi, critici, curatori, artisti.
Al grande pubblico saranno dedicate le speciali visite guidate Ascolta chi scrive.
In città Artissima presenterà le speciali sezioni collaterali della Fiera con
nuove e stimolanti proposte:
Artissima Cinema, Artissima Volume, Artissima Fumetto e, in occasione di Torino
World Design Capital 2008, Artissima Design.
There are 128 galleries at this year’s fair in Torino, featuring some of the leading names
in the art world.
The special sections of Artissima 15 will see: “Present Future”, 17 up and coming artists
from all over the world; “New Entries”, young, avant-garde galleries, in Torino for the
first time; “Constellations”, an exhibition of large, museum-level works; “Video
Lounge”, a collection of videos by artists of international fame and, for the first time,
“Italian Wave”, an initiative dedicated to all artists of Italian nationality under 35,
selected through a major national competition.
This year, instead of the traditional programme of conferences, Artissima is proposing
“L’école de Stéphanie”, by Stéphanie Moisdon: various lessons, dialogues and performances in an artistic context, with the participation of philosophers, critics, curators
and artists.
The public will be offered special guided tours. “Listen to those who write”.
In the city, Artissima will present special collateral sections of the fair, with
new and exciting events:
Artissima Cinema, Artissima Volume, Artissima Fumetto and, to coincide with the

Matthew Barney, personalità originale nel panorama artistico internazionale con il
suo lavoro concettuale ed estetico mescola porzioni di tutte le mitologie prodotte nella
storia dell’umanità, da quelle più classiche ed antiche alle più anomale e sconosciute,
elaborando una propria personalissima mitologia visionaria.
A cura di Olga Gambari, il progetto, dedicato alla sua opera, esplora e presenta vari
aspetti della sua produzione e prevede una mostra, una rassegna dei suoi film al Museo
Nazionale del Cinema, un convegno in collaborazione con il Dipartimento di Filosofia
dell’Università di Torino e un workshop con gli studenti dell’Accademia Albertina e gli
studenti del Dipartimento di Filosofia dell’Università di Torino.
L’artista, che sarà presente a tutti gli eventi, si confronterà con lo spazio della
Fondazione Merz e con le opere permanenti di Mario Merz per creare un’installazione
site specific.
Visita all’allestimento del Parco Arte Vivente. Spazio concepito per essere un'area verde
aperta al pubblico, uno spazio espositivo open air, nuovo museo interattivo, luogo di
incontro e di esperienze in laboratorio; fra biotecnologie e arte contemporanea.
La presentazione del Parco sarà accompagnata dalla mostra "ECOSOFT ART": un
ventaglio di opere e progetti di artisti nazionali e internazionali che operano nell'ambito
dell' "arte del vivente” (Michel Blazy, Enrica Borghi, Andrea Caretto/Raffaella Spagna,
Piero Gilardi, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Francesco Mariotti, Jun Takita) e dall’inaugurazione del nuovo edificio bioclimatico “Bioma”: cellula ottagonale all’interno della
quale si snoda un percorso meandriforme articolato in sei moduli interattivi.
Nell’ambito delle Attività educative e formative del PAV saranno attivati i laboratori
propedeutici della Bioarte e dedicati alle installazioni “Bioma” e “Trèfle”.
Matthew Barney is a highly original personality in the international artistic sphere;
his conceptual and aesthetic work blends together elements of all the mythologies
produced by mankind during the course of history. From the classic and ancient to the
strange and unknown, creating a highly personalised visionary mythology.
Under the direction of Olga Gambari, the project dedicated to his works explores various
aspects of his output and includes an exhibition, a collection of his films at the National
Cinema Museum, a convention in collaboration with the Philosophy Department of the
University of Torino and a workshop with the students of the Accademia Albertina and
the students of the Philosophy Department of the University of Torino.
The artist, who will be present at all the events, will utilise the area of the Fondazione
Merz and the permanent works of Mario Merz in order to create a site specific
installation.
A visit to the Parco Arte Vivente. Conceived as a green area open to the public, an open
air exhibition area, a new interactive museum, an area for meeting and experiences in
the laboratory; blending biotechnologies and modern art.
The presentation of the Park will be accompanied by the "ECOSOFT ART" exhibition:
a series of works and projects by both national and international artists, which will form
part of the “ art of the living” circuit (Michel Blazy, Enrica Borghi, Andrea
Caretto/Raffaella Spain, Piero Gilardi, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Francesco
Mariotti, Jun Takita), and also featuring the opening of the new bioclimatic building
“Bioma”: an octagonal unit, inside of which is a meandering route that is separated into
six inter-active modules.
As part of the PAV’s educational and training initiatives, Bioart preliminary workshops
will be set up, dedicated to the “Bioma” and “Trèfle” installations.

Giunta alla undicesima edizione, Luci d’Artista rappresenta la prima esperienza in Italia
di interazione tra arte e paesaggio urbano creata attraverso l’utilizzo della luce. Le opere
di alta qualità e forte impatto visivo di 19 artisti di fama internazionale, tracciano un
itinerario di luce inconsueto, rendendo suggestiva l’atmosfera invernale della città e
offrendo, a cittadini e turisti, nuovi scenari sempre più coinvolgenti. La manifestazione,
conosciuta in Italia e all’estero come il simbolo di una Torino in costante fermento
artistico, ha la capacità e la forza di portare l'arte contemporanea tra la gente e di allacciare un dialogo con essa. Anche quest’anno il nuovo allestimento come da tradizione,
prevede una rotazione delle opere nelle più belle vie e piazze della città.
Now in its eleventh edition, Luci d’Artista is the first Italian experience which reflects
an interaction between art and the urban landscape created through the use of light.
The works of the highest quality and visual impact of 19 world renowned artists, trace
an original itinerary of lights, making for a suggestive winter city atmosphere, offering
both the citizens and tourists a series of delightful settings. The event that is recognized
in Italy and abroad as the symbol of a Torino in constant artistic ferment, has both the
capacity and potential to bring modern art to the people and initiate a dialogue between
them. Once again this year the new exhibition setting, in the best tradition, envisages
a succession of the best works exhibited in the squares and streets of the city.

Per otto giorni la città di Torino diventa lo scenario naturale di un grande evento internazionale dedicato al design.
Austria, Belgio, Corea del Sud (Città di Seoul), Francia, Europa Centro-Orientale, Giappone
(Città di Nagoya), Norvegia, Paesi Bassi, Svezia, Singapore e Spagna (Città di Barcellona),
prendono temporaneamente “casa” nel capoluogo piemontese disseminando sguardi inediti
su come la cultura del progetto trova espressione in altre parti del mondo.
I principali organismi legati al design dei Paesi ospitati portano in città l’identità culturale, il
bagaglio di ricerca e il meglio della produzione del proprio Paese sotto forma di esposizioni
temporanee, offrendo al pubblico la possibilità di conoscere lo stato dell’arte del proprio
design nazionale, esplorarne le caratteristiche e indagarne le prospettive future di sviluppo,
anche nell’ottica di un confronto con quello italiano. Un calendario di eventi, happenings e
lectures crea ulteriori occasioni di incontro all’interno delle “case”.
Tutte le “case” corrispondono a luoghi storici di Torino, talvolta insoliti, distribuiti nel centro
cittadino, e temporaneamente legati da una rete inedita di relazione e di influenza che vede
il design protagonista di un nuovo sguardo sulla città e sul mondo.
For eight days, Torino will become the natural backdrop of a great international design event.
Austria, Belgium, South Korea, (Seoul), France, Central-eastern Europe, Japan (City of
Nagoya), India, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Singapore and Spain (City of Barcelona),
will all be “housed” in Torino, and will provide an insight into how the cultural side of the
project is expressed in other parts of the world.
The main design organisations of the visiting countries will bring their individual cultural identity,
research input and the best of their countries’ production to the city, in the form of temporary
exhibitions, offering the public an opportunity to get to know the state of the art of their own
national design, and to explore its intrinsic features and examine the prospects for future
developments, allowing comparison with Italian design. A rich calendar of events, happenings
and lectures will create further opportunities for meeting and exchanges in the “houses”.
All the “houses” correspond to historic sites in Torino, which are spread throughout the city
centre and are at times rather unusual. They are temporarily linked by a unique network of
inter-relations and influence, in which design is the true protagonist of a new outlook on the
city and the rest of the world.

Mostra personale dedicata a Enzo Mari, artista che esordì come esponente dell'arte
programmata e cinetica orientando la sua opera verso la continua ricerca e sperimentazione di forme e significati del prodotto industriale, dedicando particolare attenzione ai
meccanismi meno conosciuti del mercato e della produzione, alla riscoperta di fattori
come l’artigianato, creduto perduto e invece rinato in forma diversa nei modi di produzione industriale.
Autore di pezzi che hanno contribuito in modo significativo a fare la storia del design,
vincitore di quattro “compasso d'oro”, si è reso protagonista del dibattito sulla professione mediante testi di vario respiro, opere dissacranti e interventi in prima persona.
Personal exhibition dedicated to the artist Enzo Mari, who started out as an exponent
of programmed and kinetic art, focusing his works on ongoing research and experimentation into forms and significance of the industrial product, dedicating particular importance to less well-known market and production mechanisms, for the re-discovery of
aspects such as craftsmanship, which was thought to have been lost, but has instead
been re-born in the form of various industrial production methods.
The creator of works that have made a truly significant contribution to design history,
and the winner of four “compasso d'oro” awards, he has also become the protagonist
of the debate on the professions through a variety of texts, irreverent works and personal
participation.

La mostra mette a confronto la storia delle immagini in movimento (intese come film e
video d’artista) con l’immagine fissa della fotografia. È un incontro tra due diverse concezioni del tempo: da un lato l’eterno presente dell’immagine filmica, che può vivere
solo nel suo ripetuto svolgersi, e dall’altro il tempo passato, fermato nella fotografia,
sempre già concluso nell’istante stesso in cui affiora sulla carta fotografica. In un arco
cronologico suddiviso in due tranches, dal 1961 fino al 2008, la mostra presenta opere
fatte per immagini in movimento al cui interno l’uso della fotografia è centrale, come
elemento strutturale o contenutistico. Da La Jetèe di Chris Marker, film composto di
sole fotografie sull’attraversamento del tempo, alla video-installazione Retrospection di
Claerbout, dove tutto il movimento di macchina si risolve all’interno della superficie di
un’unica vecchia fotografia.
An exhibition which juxtaposes a study of the history of the moving image (in the sense
of films and artist’s videos) with the fixed image provided by photography. Providing a
point of interaction between two different time concepts: on the one hand, the eternal
present of the film image, which can only come alive with repeated rewinds; and on the
other hand, the past that is captured in the photograph, which has already concluded in
the instant that it appears on the photographic paper. In a chronological expanse of time,
which is divided into two sections, from 1961 until 2008, the exhibition features works
prepared for moving images in which photography is the key, being both its content and
structural element. From “La Jetèe” by Chris Marker, a film made up exclusively of photographs on the crossing of time, to the video-installation “Retrospection” by Claerbout,
in which all the camera movement is incorporated on the surface of an old photograph.

Per la mostra l 'artista francese Xavier Veilhan ha realizzato una serie di immagini detti
"Papiers", grandi ritagli di carta tenuta insieme da semplici spilli i cui soggetti sono
dettagli dell’architettura del Lingotto e dello Stealth e un gruppo di quattro sculture
realizzate con la tecnica della stereolitografia 3D, le cui forme si ispirano al dinamismo
plastico universale di Boccioni.
Furtivo è anche un film (film muto a colori di 28' musica di Sébastien Tellier, che è anche
l'interprete principale) che documenta il viaggio di un uomo dalla terra (il Lingotto) al
mare, in auto, a cavallo e, infine sullo Stealth, barca da regata di proprietà di Giovanni
Agnelli - il cui significato in italiano è appunto furtivo, esempio perfetto di design,
completamente realizzata in carbonio.
Il film verrà proiettato il prossimo novembre durante Artissima.
Per la prima volta in una mostra la collezione privata di uno tra i più noti galleristi del
mondo: Bruno Bischofberger, una personalità che ha dato un contributo fondamentale
all’arte contemporanea.
Dipinti, mobili, ceramiche, sedie, fotografie, oggetti e curiosità saranno esposti negli
spazi della Pinacoteca grazie alla selezione del curatore Magnus Bischofberger, figlio
del collezionista.
La raccolta comprende importanti opere degli artisti con i quali Bischofberger ha
lavorato: Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Julian Schnabel, Francesco Clemente, Enzo Cucchi,
David Salle, Condo, Decoupil, Barcelò.
In mostra anche un nucleo di fotografie di moda con autori notissimi come Man Ray,
Bluemenfeld, Avedon, Horst, Beaton, Mapplethorpe.
For this exhibition, the French artist Xavier Veilhan has created a series of images
known as "Papiers", large paper-cuttings held together with safety pins, the subject
matter being details of the architecture of the Lingotto and Stealth, together with a
group of four sculptures created using a 3D stereo-lithography technique, the forms of
which are inspired by the plastic universal dynamism of Boccioni.
Furtivo (Furtive) is also the name of a film (a silent colour 28' film with music by
Sébastien Tellier, who is also the main protagonist) that describes the journey of a man
from the earth (the Lingotto) to the sea, by car, on horseback and finally on the Stealth,
a regatta yacht owned by Giovanni Agnelli - the Italian translation of which is in fact
“furtive”, a perfect example of a design made entirely from carbon.
The film will be shown next November, during Artissima.
A chance to see an exhibition of the private collection of one of the most famous
art gallery managers in the world: Bruno Bischofberger, a person that has made a
fundamental contribution to modern art.
Paintings, furnishings, ceramic items, chairs, photographs and curios will all be on
display at the art gallery , carefully selected by the exhibition director Magnus
Bischofberger, the son of the collector.
The collection features important works by artists with whom Bischofberger has

Protagoniste di Dream sono le automobili che, nel corso degli ultimi 60 anni, sono state
esempio di ricerca progettuale e stilistica e che per le rispettive epoche di provenienza
hanno rappresentato la dimensione del “sogno” cioè quell’ambizione a raggiungere
l’irraggiungibile e a sfidare i limiti della realtà.
A partire dalle prime Dream car, segno di ottimismo e di desiderio di evasione, fino alle
più recenti Concept car, frutto di una più attenta ricerca nei confronti delle problematiche del presente, la mostra raccoglie i capolavori della creatività applicata all’automobile insieme con i progetti e le testimonianze di chi ne è stato artefice.
The protagonists of “Dream” are motor cars which, during the past 60 years, have been
an example of design and stylistic research, and which have always represented a kind
of dream throughout the various eras, the dream or ambition of obtaining the unobtainable and to challenge the limits of reality.
Starting from the first Dream cars, which symbolised optimism and the desire for
evasion, up to the more recent Concept cars, the result of more attentive research into
the problems of the present, the exhibition collates the masterpieces of creativity
applied to the motor car, together with original creative design and testimonies.

Artista tra i più originali della scena contemporanea, Peter Greenaway dedica un omaggio
al monumento simbolo della città: la Mole Antonelliana. Dopo la strabiliante installazione multimediale alla Reggia di Venaria, Greenaway propone per Torino Contemporary
Arts una nuova, ironica interpretazione di uno dei progetti architettonici più enigmatici
e originali mai realizzati.
Nelle sale storiche l’esposizione dei 100 disegni della Mole Antonelliana: la Mole
vascello, la Mole lampadina, la Mole gotica, la Mole pagoda. Visionari e divertenti,
i disegni sono realizzati usando diverse tecniche e supporti differenti (fogli di carta,
post-it, scontrini, una bustina da the,…). Questi 100 disegni della Mole Antonelliana
sono graficamente elaborati, allineati e stampati uno accanto all’altro su bobine di carta
da 35 metri alte 25 centimetri per creare la MOLE AL METRO.
One of the world’s most original contemporary artists, Peter Greenaway pays homage
to one of the city’s most symbolic monuments: the Mole Antonelliana. Following an
amazing multi-media installation at the Reggia di Venaria, Greenaway has conceived,
for Torino Contemporary Arts, a novel and ironic interpretation of one of the most original
and enigmatic architectural projects ever.
The historic halls house an exhibition of no less than 100 drawings of the Mole
Antonelliana: the (vessel) Mole, the (bulb) Mole, the Gothic Mole and the Pagoda Mole.
Both highly visionary and amusing, the drawings have been realised using a variety of
techniques and support materials (sheets of paper, post-its, till receipts, a tea bag,…).
These 100 drawings of the Mole Antonelliana have been graphically processed, aligned
and printed next to each other on reels of paper that are 35 metres long and 25 centimetres high, to create the MOLE AL METRO.

Mostra fotografica dedicata a Roman Polanski che ricostruisce l’iter artistico del regista

L’evento precede la retrospettiva del 26° Torino Film Festival dedicata al regista polacco che
presenterà tutti i suoi cortometraggi e lungometraggi, alcuni dei film da lui interpretati.
Photography exhibition dedicated to Roman Polanski, which reconstructs the artistic career
of the director through an anthology of publicity posters created by leading artists, as well
as over 120 photographs of scenes and sets taken by some of the most famous photographers in the field, all accompanied by a book of stories and first hand accounts.
The event precedes the retrospective of the 26th Torino Film Festival dedicated to the Polish
director, presenting all his short films and feature films, and some of the films in which he acted.

Mostra a cura della Fondazione Luzzati–Teatro della Tosse (Genova) all’interno della rassegna Children’s Theatre for contemporary arts, omaggio a Emanuele Luzzati, scomparso il 26
gennaio 2007. In esposizione scene, costumi, bozzetti, modellini che rappresentano una parte
cospicua della sua attività. In un’esposizione che appare immediatamente al visitatore come
una specie di sorprendente “paese dei balocchi”, come un tuffo in un universo coloratissimo,
il percorso si snoda in mezzo alle scenografie, regalando a chi guarda la stessa emozione
degli attori sul palcoscenico, che con le scene convivono quotidianamente.
Exhibition directed by the Fondazione Luzzati–Teatro della Tosse (Genoa) as part of the
“Children’s Theatre for contemporary arts” series, in memory of Emanuele Luzzati, who
passed away on 26th January 2007. The exhibition comprises scenery, costumes, drafts and
models that represent a significant portion of his work. In an exhibition that will immediately
appear to the visitor as a kind of amusing “fantasy world”, a wonderfully multi-coloured
universe, a route unwinds through the set, thereby giving the visitor the same emotions that
are experienced by the actors on stage on a daily basis.

Held in the Mole Antonelliana, this important exhibition features material from the director’s
impressive archive that has been purchased by the National Cinema Museum, and which
highlight the main steps in his film career. A complete retrospective exhibition is also planned
at the Cinema Massimo as well as two shows at the Teatro Stabile in Torino: “Filumena
Marturano” by Eduardo De Filippo under the direction of Francesco Rosi, and “Il Signore del

La Circoscrizione 7, attraverso il Centro di Interpretazione dell'Ecomuseo urbano, ha avviato una serie di iniziative culturali con scopo di valorizzare l'ansa del fiume Dora, sia sotto il
profilo storico artistico, che sotto quello socioculturale. In quest'ottica si colloca il progetto
"Lumen Flumen", realizzato in collaborazione con il I° Liceo Artistico e con il supporto
tecnico della ditta TS Tecnosistemi. L'iniziativa illuminerà con fasci di luce violetta i ponti

series of cultural initiatives aimed at promoting the bend of the Dora river, both in historicartistic terms and in a socio-cultural context. This is the aim behind the "Lumen Flumen"
project, developed in collaboration with the I° Liceo Artistico with the technical support of
the TS Tecnosistemi company. The initiative will act to illuminate the bridges that cross the
Dora river with violet light, starting from the "coal footbridge " in Via Bologna and ending at
the Washington bridge in Via Carcano.

evento “gotico”.
The exhibition, directed by Enzo Biffi Gentili, Luisa Perlo, Elisa Facchin and Undesign, features “terminal” urban visions of a winning foursome: the architect Cordero, the painter
Clayette, the photographer Marsden, and the graphic artist Police. The performance, to be
held on the night of 8 November, will provide a perturbing “gothic” event.

The installation by Giuliano Fazzari, which consists of two curious fuchsia coloured parallelepipeds, generates a profound reflection on war, with a series of evocative visual and
sound stimuli designed to rouse the visitor. Every war, domestic, political or religious abuse
weakens and humiliates mankind.

La mostra, curata da Luca Massimo Barbero, rende omaggio a una delle più importanti figure
dell’arte del XX secolo. È il 1941 quando a causa della guerra Peggy Guggenheim lascia
l’Europa per gli Stati Uniti, portando con sé lo straordinario bagaglio delle avanguardie
artistiche europee. A New York, la collezionista, con la sua galleria Art of This Century inaugurata nel 1942, diventa fulcro di un nuovo, vivace dibattito sull’identità dell’arte americana
stimolato anche dall’incontro con gli artisti europei. E’ in questo milieu che Peggy scopre la
Scuola di New York di cui esporrà artisti quali Mark Rothko o Robert Motherwell, ma è
Jackson Pollock, l'autore che più di ogni altro Peggy proteggerà in questo periodo portandolo
negli anni successivi alla fama internazionale. A Vercelli la mostra racconterà la storia e i
percorsi di questo incontro attraverso le opere di artisti come Pollock, Rothko, Gorky,
Baziotes, Pousette-Dart che con i loro lavori hanno scardinato i canoni della pittura
dell’epoca liberando nel movimento, nel colore e nell’inconscio i contenuti e i modi di un
nuovo modo di fare pittura.
The exhibition, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, pays tribute to one of the most important
protagonists of 20th century art. Peggy Guggenheim left Europe for the United States in 1941
as the result of the war, taking with her an extraordinary heritage of European avant-garde
artistic trends. In New York, the collector, with her gallery Art of This Century that opened in
1942, soon became the focus of a new and lively debate on the identity of American art, stimulated also by meetings with European artists. It was in this milieu that Peggy discovered
the New York School, exhibiting artists such as Mark Rothko and Robert Motherwell. But her
leading protégée in this period was to be Jackson Pollock, whom she led to international
fame in subsequent years. The exhibition in Vercelli will describe the stages of this itinerary,
through the works of artists such as Pollock, Rothko, Gorky, Baziotes, Pousette-Dart
who, with their works, have outlined the canons of painting in this period, providing scope
in terms of movement colour, and the sub-conscious, so as to release the contents and means
for a new way of painting.

"Fantasie guerriere” è il titolo dell’esposizione che il Filatoio di Caraglio dedica al confronto
tra le creazioni di Roberto Capucci e le armature dei samurai dal XVI al XIX sec. della collezione del Museo Stibbert di Firenze.
Agli abiti-scultura dello stilista sono abbinati armature ed elmi giapponesi in un confronto di
effetti cromatici e di elementi decorativi.
"Fantasie guerriere” is the title of an exhibition that the Filatoio di Caraglio dedicates to the
comparison between the creations of Roberto Capucci and the suits of armour of the Samurai
between the 16-19th centuries, from the collection of the Stibbert Museum of Florence.
The costume-sculptures of the designer are combined with Japanese armour and helmets
juxtaposing colour effects and decorative elements.

dall’idea di raffigurare i personaggi mistici dell’Africa mussulmana, a cui Patrizia Guerresi si
ispira da tempo per la loro grandezza carismatica.

La penna diventa il simbolo della città. In quest’ottica, sono state realizzate 50 penne in polistirolo ad alta densità alte oltre 2 mt. 25 delle quali sono state affidate ad artisti, a studenti
dell’Accademia delle Belle Arti e delle scuole elementari e medie di Settimo e 25 destinate
al concorso per giovani artisti in collaborazione con il GAI. A partire da maggio le 50 penne
rielaborate saranno posizionate in vari luoghi di Settimo, Torino e dintorni per poi essere
battute ad un’asta benefica.
A pen that becomes the symbol of the city. In this context, 50 2 metre-high pens have been
created in high-density polystyrene, 25 of which have been given to artists, and to students
of the Fine Arts Academy and of the junior and middle schools of Settimo. The other 25 have
been set aside for the young artists competition in collaboration with GAI. As from May, the
50 revised pens will be located in various places in Settimo, Torino and the surroundings
areas and will then be sold at a charity auction.

La BAM Piemonte Project ha come finalità la valorizzazione dell’arte e della creatività
piemontese dal secondo dopoguerra ad oggi. Per il 2008 ha aderito al “Torino 2008
World Design Capital” con una selezione di design e progettazione architettonica,
curata da Riccardo Ghirardini, una sezione di design di giovani architetti piemontesi,
il Puzzle for Peace, l’omaggio all’ architetto Gaetano Pesce -“La libertà della materia”e la produzione di oggetti di design dell’architetto torinese Franco Mello, una
sezione dedicata all’arte contemporanea nel design in Piemonte presso il Museo del
Paesaggio di Intra.
The BAM Piemonte Project aims to promote local Piedmontese art and creativity
from the post war years to the present day. For 2008, it has adhered to the “Torino
2008 World Design Capital” initiative with a selection of designs and architectural

Le opere della nuova collezione del FRAC - (Fondo Regionale Arte Contemporanea)
sono state acquisite all’interno dell’ultima edizione della Fiera d’arte contemporanea
Artissima. Il FRAC è finalizzato all’acquisizione di opere di giovani artisti emergenti,
italiani e stranieri.
Boves è la seconda tappa della mostra itinerante della collezione che ha già toccato
la città di Vercelli e che a Boves inaugura il nuovo spazio espositivo Centro Culturale
Cittadella.
The works of the new FRAC (Regional Contemporary Art fund) collection were acquired
during the last edition of the Contemporary Art fair Artissima. The FRAC aims to
purchase works of art by some of the newest up and coming Italian and foreign artists.
The second stage of the itinerant exhibition will take place in Boves. The exhibition has
already visited the town of Vercelli and will also inaugurate the new exhibition area in
Boves, the Centro Culturale Cittadella.

methods for utilising this style of expression.

Proposte XXIII 2008 fa il punto sulle ricerche delle ultime generazioni attive sul territorio con
una mostra allestita negli spazi dell’Accademia Albertina.L’iniziativa è concepita per integrare le funzioni espositive e l’accoglienza del pubblico. Esito di un articolato percorso formativo, che ha visto gli artisti selezionati impegnati in un workshop tenuto da Massimo Bartolini,
la mostra rispecchia gli indirizzi della politica regionale in tema di giovani artisti.
Proposte XXIII 2008 focuses on the research undertaken by the latest generations active in the
local area, with an exhibition organised at the Accademia Albertina. The initiative has been conceived in order to integrate exhibition functions with public hospitality. The result of a detailed
training procedure, which saw the chosen artists taking part in a workshop held by Massimo
Bartolini. The exhibition reflects the regional political trends in relation to young artists.

An exhibition of approximately one thousand pencils from the collection of Leandro
Agostini, one of the leading collectors in the field. The pencils exhibited and their assimilates
have been carefully selected from 12,000 wooden and mechanical pencils, and are surely the

Diogene-bivaccourbano è un progetto che si propone di attivare, attraverso un programma
di residenze e scambi internazionali, una modalità inedita di approfondimento sull'operare
artistico e sul ruolo dell'artista nella società. L’artista selezionato Pak Sheung Chuen sarà
ospitato all’interno di un piccolo modulo abitativo (il Bivacco) che diventerà il luogo di vita e
di lavoro dell’artista.
Diogene-bivaccourbano is a project which, through a programme of residential visits and
international exchanges, aims to provide a novel manner of examining the artistic profession
and the role of the artist in society. The selected artist, Pak Sheung Chuen, will be given lodgings in a residential unit (il Bivacco), which will become his living and working quarters.
Mostra collettiva dedicata ai finalisti dell’undicesima edizione della rassegna concorso per
giovani artisti. Gli artisti arrivati in finale sono stati selezionati su oltre 150 votati dal pubblico
durante i mercoledì di IoEspongo al Pastis di Piazza Emanuele Filiberto. Il pubblico e una
giuria di addetti ai lavori voteranno le opere in mostra assegnando durante la serata i premi
ai vincitori della 11ª edizione.
A collective exhibition dedicated to the finalists of the 11th edition of the competition
event for young artists. The artists that have reached the finals were selected from over 150
hopefuls, and were voted for by the public during the “mercoledì di IoEspongo” at the Pastis
in Piazza Emanuele Filiberto. Both the public and a jury of experts will evaluate the works
and present the winners of this 11th edition with awards during the evening.

Vetrina teatrale di produzioni originali di giovani gruppi emergenti torinesi, articolata in
più fasi (seminari, spettacoli e dibattiti), che prevede, per i gruppi individuati, momenti
di formazione e la presentazione di spettacoli in spazi teatrali cittadini. L’obiettivo è
quello di fornire una concreta visibilità, un confronto diretto con il pubblico e strumenti
di crescita professionale, alla presenza di critici e operatori del settore. L’intera iniziativa
è seguita da un Osservatorio, costituito da docenti universitari e giornalisti dello
spettacolo, che seleziona gli allestimenti migliori, destinati ad essere inseriti nella
programmazione di alcuni dei teatri piemontesi sostenuti dal Circuito Teatrale del
Piemonte.
A theatrical showcase of original productions by young, up-and-coming companies from
Torino, organised into several stages (seminars, shows and debates), which will also
involve, for the companies concerned, educational and training initiatives and the
possibility to schedule productions in the city’s theatres. The aim is to provide visibility,
direct contact with the public and tools for professional development, in the presence
of critics and theatre workers. The entire initiative is monitored by a special committee
of university teachers and show business journalists, who will select the best productions for inclusion in the programmes of several Piedmontese theatres that have the
backing of the Piemonte Theatre Circuit.

della Compagnia -, ha messo a punto la sua prima grande produzione: Patchagonia. Un luogo
dell’immaginario dove i danzatori si incontrano e cercano di comunicare, di comprendersi al
suono delle musiche create da Tcha Limberger ispirandosi ai ritmi folcloristici del Nord
Argentina.
After having worked with Alain Platel - the founder of the company - for many years, the
young choreographer Lisi Estarás has now perfected her first major production: “Patchagonia”.
An imaginary world, in which the dancers come together and attempt to communicate and
understand each other, to the sound of music created by Tcha Limberger, inspired by the
traditional rhythms of North Argentina.

Aphasiadisiac: il titolo è la crasi tra Afasia e Afrodisiaco. Con l’unione di queste due parole
il coreografo racconta l’amore, la speranza, le delusioni, i malintesi dopo la fine degli ideali
romantici. L’esecuzione musicale merita una speciale menzione: saranno cinque artisti a crearla e a eseguirla dal vivo sulla scena, in sala e nel foyer.
“Aphasiadisiac”: the title is the combination of the words Afasia and Aphrodisiac. By combining these two words, the choreographer is able to describe love, hope, disappointment
and misunderstandings when romantic ideals have been shattered. The music deserves a
special mention: it will be created by five musicians and performed live on stage, in the hall
and the foyer.

La manifestazione, giunta alla sesta edizione, rientra nel progetto interRegionale “Spazi per la
Danza Contemporanea” ideato e promosso dalle Regioni Lazio, Piemonte e Campania, in collaborazione con il Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali . Si prefigge di creare un melting
box tra giovani e già affermate realtà contemporanee nazionali e internazionali, offrendo una
panoramica della danza d'autore europea commistionata a musica live e video istallazioni.
The event, which is now in its sixth edition, is part of a Regional project entitled “Spazi per
la Danza Contemporanea” conceived and promoted by the Lazio, Piemonte and Campania
regions, in collaboration with the Ministry for Heritage and Cultural Activities. It aims to
create a melting pot for young people and nationally- and internationally-acclaimed artists,
offering an insight into European dance blended with live music and video installations.

Il 26° Torino Film Festival, diretto da Nanni Moretti, si è affermato negli anni come
una manifestazione culturale centrale per la promozione del “nuovo cinema” ed è rivolto
non solo ad un pubblico di cinefili e operatori del settore provenienti da tutto il mondo,
ma anche a giovani torinesi attratti dalla varietà delle proposte contenute nel programma.
La scorsa edizione ha portato un notevole incremento di pubblico e un significativo
successo mediatico.
Il programma di quest’anno si articolerà nel concorso principale, dedicato ai lungometraggi internazionali, con i premi per il miglior film, i migliori attore e attrice protagonisti.
Il fiore all’occhiello del Torino Film Festival è, tuttavia, rappresentato dalle retrospettive.
Questa edizione presenterà al pubblico del TFF ben tre omaggi: i primi due sono la
riproposta dell’opera completa di due maestri del cinema quali Roman Polanski e
Jean-Pierre Melville e il terzo dedicato alla British Renaissance, una panoramica sul
cinema britannico tra gli anni Settanta e gli anni Ottanta.
Incontri ed eventi presso: Cinema Ambrosio, Cinema Greenwich, Cinema Massimo,
Cinema Nazionale, al circolo dei Lettori e al Teatro Regio.
The 26° Torino Film Festival, directed by Nanni Moretti, has acquired a reputation
through the years as being a cultural event that is essential for the promotion of “new
cinema” and targets not only a public made up of cinema lovers and film industry
workers from all the world, but also targets young Torino inhabitants attracted by the
variety of events on the programme. The last edition saw a significant increase in
audience figures as well as substantial media success.
This year’s programme will focus on the main competition dedicated to international
feature films, with awards going to the best film, as well as to the best leading actor
and actress.
However, the most distinguishing aspect of the Torino Film Festival is the retrospectives. During this edition, the public of the TFF will be able to enjoy the re-enactment of
the complete works of two great cinema masters, Roman Polanski and Jean-Pierre
Melville, as well as an initiative dedicated to the British Renaissance, which provides
an insight into British cinema between the 70’s and 80’s.
Meetings and events at Cinema Ambrosio, Cinema Greenwich, Cinema Massimo,
Cinema Nazionale, at the circolo dei Lettori and the Teatro Regio.
Un effervescente mix di anteprime, omaggi, retrospettive e incontri con ospiti di prestigio, Sottodiciotto è l’unico evento cinematografico nazionale pensato e realizzato dai
giovani che piace al pubblico di tutte le età. La IX edizione ospiterà importanti registi e
darà grande spazio al cinema d’animazione, a classici restaurati, programmi speciali e
una vetrina di opere inedite.
In occasione del 60° anniversario della Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti
dell’Uomo, il tema guida è “Diritti”, declinato nelle sue molteplici sfaccettature, a
partire da un punto di vista ben preciso, quello giovanile.
A heady mix of previews, tributes, retrospectives and meetings with prestigious guests,
Sottodiciotto is the only national cinematographic event conceived and produced by
young people that appeals to a public of all ages. This 9th edition will play host to leading directors, and will give great scope to animated films, restored classics and special programmes, as well as a host of new works.
To mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of human rights, the guiding
theme is “Rights”, in all its many contexts, starting with an extremely specific point
of view, that of young people.

In dreams I dance with you. Il Festival coinvolge tre città Torino, Milano per l’anteprima Viva
Club to Club e Rotterdam per la sezione Club Europa. Tre giorni e tre notti di eventi con
artisti internazionali tra cui Ellen Allien, Mr.Oizo, James Holden, Byetone, Kangding Ray,
Benga, Skream, Plaid, Pivot.
A questi si aggiungono le presenze di Four Tet, Moritz von Oswald trio (featuring Vladislav
Delay), Munk, The Mole, Theo Parrish e Todo, a confermare la visione trasversale e focalizzata sulla qualità del Festival.
Numerose le partnership speciali ed esclusive di questa edizione tra cui il progetto

Club To Club returns with its 8th edition, with a dreamlike image and the claim “In dreams I
dance with you”. The Festival will involve three cities: Torino and Milan for the preview of
Viva Club to Club, and Rotterdam for the Club Europa section. Three days and three nights of
events, with the participation of international artists such as Ellen Allien, Mr.Oizo, James
Holden, Byetone, Kangding Ray, Benga, Skream, Plaid, Pivot.
There will also be performances by Four Tet, the Moritz von Oswald trio (featuring Vladislav

Lungo le antiche contrade incontriamo l’arte contemporanea

La passeggiata inizia nel cuore della Torino Barocca: dalla contrada di Po fino a piazza
Castello. Nella Città quadrata, da Piazza Corpus Domini a piazzetta Viglongo.
Durata percorso: un’ora e mezza circa. Appuntamento via Po angolo via Sant’Ottavio.
Le trasformazioni della città da Palazzo Madama al Cortile del Maglio
30 ottobre alle ore 15.00 e 20 novembre alle ore 9.30.
Il percorso inizia da Piazza Castello proseguendo fino a Porta Palazzo per concludersi
all’interno di Borgo Dora e del Balôn.
Durata percorso: 2 ore.

Passeggiata nel Centro Storico della città, rivolta agli over sessanta per ammirare le Luci
d'Artista divenute il simbolo di una città che si sta profondamente trasformando anche a
livello culturale e artistico. Il percorso inoltre permette un interessante dialogo tra la realtà
preesisente e le installazioni di arte contemporanea.

which have become the symbol of a city that is undergoing a profound transformation in both

CON IL SETTORE EDUCAZIONE AL PATRIMONIO CULTURALE DELLA CITTÀ
DI TORINO
PER MOLTEPLICI SENSI
Il PAV, nuovo centro per l’arte contemporanea di Torino, ha come specificità l’analisi, la
sperimentazione e la divulgazione dell’arte del vivente.
Il percorso di incontri si propone di far conoscere questa nuova realtà museale, ad un
pubblico specifico di non vedenti o ipovedenti.
Il nucleo del parco è formato dall’opera ambientale interattiva Bioma di Piero Gilardi e dall’organismo vegetale vivente Trèfle, di Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
I materiali messi a disposizione del pubblico sia nel caso di Bioma che in quello di Trèfle
appartengono pienamente alla categoria del tattile e del quotidiano, con tutte le informazioni
che questi oggetti sono capaci di attivare: la sollecitazione olfattiva delle essenze e del
manto erboso, il disordine compositivo delle foglie, la pesantezza dei ciottoli di fiume, la
mobilità dell’acqua dolce, e così via.
Sulla base dell’esperienza sensoriale derivata dalla visita a i moduli di Bioma e dell’opera
d’arte ambientale Trèfle vengono elaborati laboratori specifici.

The PAV, Torino’s new contemporary art centre, specifically aims to analyse, experiment and
divulge living art.
A series of meetings aims to promote this new musical genre, to a specific audience of blind
and partially sighted people.
The nucleus of the park consists in the interactive environmental work known as Bioma by
Piero Gilardi, and the living vegetable organism Trèfle, by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster.
The materials placed at the disposal of the public, in both the case of Bioma and Trèfle, belong
exclusively to the category of the tactile and everyday life, with all the information that these
objects are capable of activating: the olfactory stimuli generated by essences and the grassy
mantle, the compositional disorder of the leaves, the heaviness of the river pebbles, the flowing of the fresh water, and so on.
Specific workshops will take place, based on the sensorial experience of the Biomar installations and the Trèfle environmental work of art.

La mostra espone i progetti di 15 gruppi composti da studenti della II Facoltà di Architettura
del Politecnico di Torino e della School of Architecture del Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute di
Troy, N.Y. (U.S.A.) sulla trasformazione dell’area della stazione Lingotto e prevede la realizzazione di una bridge-station, una stazione ponte che connetta l’area destinata ad accogliere
la nuova sede della Regione Piemonte con l’attuale piazzale antistante la stazione.
The exhibition features projects by 15 groups of students from the II Faculty of Architecture
of the Torino Polytechnic and the School of Architecture of the Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute of Troy, N.Y. (U.S.A.) on the transformation of the Lingotto station area, and involves
the creation of a bridge-station, a station that will link the area destined to house the new
head offices of the Piemonte Region with the square currently located opposite the station.

La Triennale di Milano presenta una grande retrospettiva dedicata ad Alberto
Burri, uno dei massimi protagonisti dell’arte del XX secolo, riconosciuto a
livello nazionale e internazionale.
La mostra, presenta l’artista, l’uomo e le influenze che ha esercitato sulla
cultura dell’epoca attraverso una scelta di capolavori, che non si limitano alle
più note creazioni degli anni Cinquanta, ma testimoniano l’intero svolgimento,
nei decenni successivi, dell’opera di Burri e della sua straordinaria capacità
di rinnovamento. A Burri si deve l’innovativa apertura verso l’impiego di
materiali extrapittorici la cui influenza ha caratterizzato l’arte fino ai
nostri giorni.

Dal 1923 La Triennale di Milano è l’istituzione italiana per l’architettura,
l’urbanistica, le arti decorative e visive, il design, l’artigianato, la produzione
industriale, la moda e la produzione audiovisiva. Negli oltre 8.000 metri
quadrati di superficie espositiva, si organizzano con regolarità mostre di
rilievo nazionale e internazionale. Da novembre 2006 alla sede storica di Viale
Alemagna si aggiunge Triennale Bovisa: 2000 mq dedicati all’arte contemporanea e alla contemporaneità nel quartiere Bovisa.
Nel Dicembre 2007 Triennale inaugura il Triennale Design Museum: il primo
museo del design italiano che “mette in scena” il design attraverso un sistema
di rappresentazioni che si rinnoveranno ogni 12 mesi, cambiando ogni volta i
temi-chiave, gli ordinamenti scientifici, gli allestimenti.
Since 1923, the Triennale di Milano has been the Italian institution for architecture, town planning, decorative and visual arts, design, craftsmanship, industrial production, fashion and audio-visual production. Exhibitions of national
and international importance are regularly organised in over 8,000 square
metres of exhibition space. Since November 2006, the historic venue in Viale
Alemagna has been complemented by the addition of Triennale Bovisa: 2000
m2 dedicated to contemporary art and contemporary aspects in the Bovisa
quarter.

The exhibition presents the artist, the man and his influence on the culture of

Triennale Bovisa presenta la mostra Guido Crepax. Valentina, la forma del
tempo, dedicata al lavoro del fumettista e a Valentina, il suo personaggio più
celebre, creato nel 1965.
La mostra è articolata in sezioni tematiche, in cui sono esposte tavole originali dei
fumetti, disegni inediti, manifesti pubblicitari, filmati tratti dalla serie televisiva
“Valentina”, fotografie, ritratti, oggetti di merchandising.
L’allestimento evidenzia l’attualità delle invenzioni linguistiche di Crepax, il suo ininterrotto dialogo col cinema, scandito dalla ricchezza dei primi piani, dei piani americani, dei campi lunghi, di campi e controcampi. L’alternarsi di pareti bianche e nere,
le gigantografie dei disegni e gli originali da cui sono tratte, danno l'impressione di
entrare fisicamente nello straordinario mondo creato dalla fantasia di Crepax.
Triennale Bovisa presents the exhibition entitled “Guido Crepax. Valentina, la
forma del tempo”, dedicated to the work of the cartoonist and to Valentina, his
most famous character, created in 1965.
The exhibition is divided into subject areas, in which original cartoons, unpublished
drawings, advertising billboards, and sequences from the television series “Valentina”
are displayed, along with photographs, portraits and items of merchandising.
The exhibition highlights the relevance of the linguistic inventions of Crepax, his
uninterrupted dialogue with cinema, characterized by the richness of the close-ups,
three-quarter shots, long shots, shots and reverse shots. The alternation of black
and white walls, blow-ups of drawings and the originals from which they were
taken, give the impression of actually physically entering the extraordinary world
created by the imagination of Crepax.

Il Museo ha iniziato ponendosi la domanda fondante “Che Cos’è il Design
Italiano?” a cui cercherà di volta in volta di rispondere da punti di vista sempre differenti. La prima edizione risponde a questa domanda mettendo in
scena sette ossessioni scritte da Andrea Branzi, interpretate da Italo Rota,
realizzate con il contributo speciale di 7 registi italiani e la partecipazione
straordinaria di Peter Greenaway, sotto la direzione di Silvana Annicchiarico.
Il Triennale Design Museum si articola non solo come una successione di
oggetti di design ma anche come una messa in scena di opere d’arte, film
d’autore e installazioni, perché quella del design è una storia fatta di pensieri, di filosofia, di costume.
