About us
The founder, Franco Ceprini, is born in Città della Pieve (Perugia) on January 16, 1945.
In the year 1964 - 1965 he obtained the surveyor degree at Technical Institute Lorenzo Maitani of Orvieto, in the
July session.
Immediately he found work in a company of Orvieto, specialised in roads, highway and railway sector where he will remain until 1976, first as technical employee and then as head of construction site and finally as technical manager.
In that period he gains experience in the realization of different kind of works, among them railway construction (renovation and redevelopment of tracks, tracks construction, for example the realization of the first section of doubling
on Bari - Brindisi line and the tracks construction of Florence - Rome high speed Railway between Rome and Orvieto)
and consolidation works inside tunnels between Orvieto and Chiusi.
In 1973 he enrols the company at the Chamber of Commerce in Terni as individual company Ceprini Surveyor
Franco.
In 1974 he obtains a membership on the National Register of Builders as individual company specialised in roads
and railway construction, river works and building construction.
From 1977 he leads the company in a huge growth of volumes, manpower and vehicles.
From 1992 to 1995 during the business sector crisis, with a significant turnover's downturn, he maintains his company intact. And from 1995 the company has a huge expansion on the national territory, most of all in the mid-northern regions, specialised in underpasses run by oil hydraulic system, maintenance and tunnels construction,
consolidations and road body and buildings maintenance.
In 1999 he is among the first company in this sector, at national level, to obtain Quality System Certification UNI EN
ISO 9002 and SOA Certification that has replaced the National Register of Builders.
In 2001 he transforms the individual company CEPRINI FRANCO into CEPRINI COSTRUZIONI S.r.l. in charge of Sole
Director and Technical Director.
In 2010 a further transformation creates a Boards of Directors with Franco Ceprini as President and Technical
Director and Patrizia Ceprini as Managing Director.
To cooperate with the Technical Direction has been appointed Ing. Vincenzo Spagnoli as second Technical Director,
a highly considered professional from Orvieto, also in railway sector, for having realised many and huge works executed from Ceprini Costruzioni Srl in behalf of R.F.I (Italian Railways) S.p.A.
Thanks to the huge experience, organisation efficiency, forefront vehicles and a manpower of over 160 employees
(average of last five years), the company differs in the ability to reduce the execution times of the works, working in
different shift in 24 hours, depending from necessity and the site works execution.

The works’ schedule for the tracks Lecco - Colico line renovation are
proceeding.
We have visited the site with the provincial councillor Mastalli and we
discovered a lot of curious things.
We went into the tunnel in Bellano by jeep: 300 m of works that will
be end by Sunday.
The tracks have been removed and the appropriately modified excavators remove the permanent way while a milling cutter will lower the
rock of about 20 cm.
We walk into the “Molini Oro” (400m) discovering the seepage water
though the rock. In Garavina has been located even a pump for emptying the water from the end of the tunnel.
“Monte Piazzo”, twin of those that “walk” on the main road 36, does’t
have particular problems compare to the others, but it has faced two
interventions in the last decades with consolidation of concrete and
introduction of iron bars.
A discovered curiosity from Corenno: an old cast iron tube that takes
the water like aqueduct, supply the municipal houses.
On the short line has been emptied 5.500 m of tunnels, between Bellano and Piona, and the section in - between for a total of seven km and
half.
The Contractor is GCF (Generali costruzioni ferroviarie) with subcontractor Ceprini Company from Orvieto.
The amount is about 12 million euros.The works’ supervisor is RFI (Italian Railways), with Engineer Maurizio Campostrini.
Our partners were the head of works management, surveyor Ivan Fasoli

On the site there are 140 workers that work in two daily shifts of 10
hours with 2 hours break, to guarantee the intern charge of air, that is
in every tunnel thanks to a powerful ventilator mounted on a lorry.
The only one day of stop would be August 15th.
The main site are in Dervio and Colico Scalo where are the rails, sleepers, a mountain of gravel and where the output materials is handle,
but the section is divided in 5 blocks.
In the tunnels, that at the level of a rail have height of 460 cm and
empty are 570 cm, there will be a lowering of about 30 cm and the canalizations, that gather rainwater, will be redo again.
On the new permanent way will be placed reinforced concrete sleepers and a heavy placing of ballast and rails, typ Uni 60 (rails).
The 66.000 old wooden sleepers, with 30 kg each of wood tar, would
be dispose from a specialized Company, but the cut material goes to
the Nuova Olonio and Morbegno’s dumps.
“A huge research has been done before a great work like this, in just
one month” they said.
In the many curves will be mounted a section of railway line.
“The trip comfort will be increased a lot at the end of the works” - they
said - the classic noise “tuc - tuc” will disappear.
On this railway line, thanks to the used materials, also the “Pendolino”
(a kind of train) could travel without problems.
Around 25th August will start the railways reassembling.
There is a machine, in Dervio, that has been projected, constructed and validated just for this
kind of work, and it is different from any other railway’s section.
In September and October the railways will be replaced (pieces of 108 m) in the normal
tracks (without tunnels), working during the night for the modernization.
On the section Bellano - Lecco there are works in progress like cleaning of drains and pruning
of lateral plants.
“Finally the works started” said Mastalli “ showing the commitment of Italian Railways and
the Contractor Company. Unfortunately in the funds of Valtellina law there isn’t the elimination of crossing level of Bellano.
