mio il modo di pensare di mio padre, che
ha sempre pianificato di migliorare non
solo il domani ma anche il dopodomani,
guardando oltre, cercando nuovi orizzonti
tecnologici senza mai dimenticare la
correttezza morale ed ho trasmesso a tutto
lo staff l’importanza sia dell’innovazione e
dello sviluppo costante che della necessità
di migliorarsi per essere sempre al passo
con i tempi.

competitivi e ampliare il business, ma
anche per soddisfare sempre più e meglio
le normative ambientali ed etiche.
Questo è il mood che si percepisce
nei reparti e nei vari plant del Gruppo:

caratterizzato da investimenti rilevanti,
di cui parleremo all’interno di questo
numero, che si affiancano ad altri di
entità inferiore ma non di minor valore.
L’evoluzione del Gruppo non è solo a
livello di strutture e macchinari, ma si
focalizza anche sul potenziamento delle
risorse umane qualificate, abbiamo infatti
inserito nell’organico dei nuovi teamleader, ampliato divisioni e incrementato le
specializzazioni. Un grande rafforzamento
è stato effettuato anche nella parte tecnica
e nell’industrializzazione. Lo sviluppo
aziendale ha poi sottolineato sempre più
l’importanza di avere sotto controllo tutti
i costi specifici sia per business units che
per i business processes, e in risposta a
ciò è stata creata una divisione specifica
denominata O.C.M. – Oldrati Cost
Management.
Un’operazione che sottolinea ancor
di più la nostra continua evoluzione è
l’entrata nel Gruppo di un’altra azienda,
la Satig, leader nel settore dei trattamenti
superficiali su prodotti in gomma e
plastica, che ha reso necessaria anche
una riorganizzazione strutturale con la
creazione di modelli di Business Unit
con concetto a matrice al fine di garantire
maggiore incisività e velocità di risposta
alla domanda specifica dei vari settori di
mercato.
Questo è in breve il Gruppo Oldrati, ma
molto di più troverete all’interno del
magazine e spero che quanto indicato
faccia intendere quanto ci renda orgogliosi
poter soddisfare il cliente attraverso
un’efficienza sempre più impeccabile.

inside this magazine, placed next to others
of minor entity but not of less value.
Oldrati Group evolution is not only at
structural and machinery level, but is also
focused on strengthening qualified human
resources: in fact we introduced in our
structure new team leaders, we enlarged
divisions and incremented specializations.
A big reinforcement has been done also
by fortifying the technical area and the
industrialization team. The company
development has underlined even more
the importance to keep under control all
the specific costs both for the business
units as well as for business processes.
As an answer to this trend, we created a
specific division called O.C.M - Oldrati
Cost Management.
An operation that underlines even more
our continuous evolution is the new
entrance in Oldrati Group of the company
SATIG, leader in the surface treatments
on rubber and plastic articles. Such a new
entry has made necessary also a structural
rearrangement with the creation of new
Business Unit models through a matrix
concept with the aim to guarantee bigger
incisiveness and quickness in answering
to the specific different market fields’
requests.
This is in short words Oldrati Group,
but you will find more details inside the
magazine and I hope that from the given
information it will be clear how proud
we are to be able to satisfy customer’s
exigencies through a more and more
impeccable efficiency.

UNA NUOVA FAMIGLIA DI
PRODOTTI OLDRATI IN EPDM
CON PROPRIETÀ ANTIMICOTICHE E ANTIMICROBICHE
S
oddisfare al meglio le esigenze dei clienti e rispondere
alle necessità del mercato, questi sono alcuni degli
scopi che il Gruppo Oldrati si prefigge nei suoi
obiettivi aziendali.
Proprio per rispondere a questi bisogni mette in primo
piano la ricerca e lo sviluppo ed implementa costantemente
materiali con caratteristiche specifiche in grado di
garantire i requisiti richiesti nei vari ambiti industriali.
Il settore dell’elettrodomestico è uno di quelli che richiede
regolarmente nuove soluzioni tecniche, al fine di migliorare
e rendere più sicure le numerose apparecchiature che
quotidianamente tutti noi utilizziamo.
Per ovviare al problema delle guarnizioni in gomma
degli elettrodomestici, che rappresentano l’ambiente
ideale per il proliferare di microorganismi, di muffe e
di colonie batteriche a causa della presenza di un forte
tasso di umidità, di una temperatura di lavoro ideale per
la loro incubazione ed di residui di detergenti, Oldrati
Group è riuscito a realizzare un materiale elastomerico
praticamente in grado di azzerare la diffusione batterica e
micotica nel giro di qualche decina di ore.
Un centro di analisi biochimiche convenzionato con una
prestigiosa università Italiana ha certificato i risultati che i
nuovi formulati Oldrati in gomma EPDM della serie OLD
ETS 2000, ottengono, valutandoli oggettivamente molto
positivi.
Infatti gli articoli realizzati con tali mescole sono stati in
grado di abbattere gli inoculi batterici o micotici utilizzati
in percentuali superiori al 99.99% già nelle prime 72hrs.
Ad esempio, l’Escherichia coli (batterio) ha un
abbattimento del 99.976% già dopo solo 24 hrs che si porta
al 100% nelle 72 ore successive, mentre il ceppo micetico
(muffa) dell’Aspergillus Niger, nelle prime 24 hrs viene
distrutto per il 99.954%.
La tecnologia alla base della serie OLD ETS 2000 risulta
essere ideale non solo per le applicazioni del mercato
elettrodomestico, ma anche per quelle di tutti i settori
in cui sono richiesti materiali elastomerici con spiccate
caratteristiche di inibizione batterica e micotica.

he greatest satisfaction of customers’ exigencies and the reply
to the market requests; these are some of the targets that
Oldrati Group aims to achieve among its company goals.
To respond to such needs Oldrati puts at the first place research &
development and it constantly implements materials with specific
features able to guarantee the needed requirements in different
industrial fields.
Household appliances is one of the sectors that regularly asks for
new technical solutions, with the target to improve and make safer
the different devices used daily by all of us.
The main problem caused by the use of rubber gaskets in household
appliances is due to the high humidity level presence, to a working
Temperature and to detergent residuals, which are the ideal
environment for incubation and development of microorganisms,
mould and bacterial residuals. To solve this issue Oldrati Group has
realized an elastomeric material able to bring to zero within few
hours the bacterial and fungal wide spreading.
This result has been certified by a biochemical laboratory cooperating
with a prestigious Italian University: such data concerning Oldrati

EPDM compound OLD ETS 2000 have been objectively evaluated
in a very positive way.
From the analysis carried out, it has emerged that the products
realized with such compounds have reduced drastically the
inoculated bacterial or microbial charge in percentages bigger than
99.99% already in the first 72 hours.
For example, it has been detected that Escherichia coli (bacterium)
value is reduced of 99.976% already after 24 hours and, in the next
72 hours, it gets 100% value.
The same result has been achieved with the fungal strain of
Aspergillus Niger (mould): in the first 24 hours, the registered value
has fallen down to 99.954%
The basic technology on which OLD ETS 2000 compound
formulations have been realized, is suitable not only for household
market applications, but also for all those fields in which elastomeric
materials with peculiar features of Bacterial and fungal inhibition
are required.

L
a scoperta e lo sfruttamento di nuovi giacimenti
idrocarburici in ambienti estremi ed inospitali
come ad esempio i mari artici o l’estremo nord
siberiano, in cui le temperature minime raggiungono
tranquillamente anche i -50°C, ha indirizzato il Gruppo
Oldrati a finanziare un piano di investimenti atto a
realizzare dei materiali per basse e bassissime temperature,
in grado di poter affrontare e superare quanto previsto
dalla specifica Norsok M710 rev 3 / ISO 23936-2:2011.
Il progetto di lavoro Oldrati ha coinvolto in particolare il
reparto Ricerca e Sviluppo che sfruttando sia le competenze
formulative di cinquant’anni di attività nell’Oil field che le
ultime novità nel campo dei tecnopolimeri fluorurati e
perfluorurati, è stata in grado di ottenere per il prodotto
OLD REX ICE, un perfluoro elastomero di ultima
generazione, la qualificazione Norsok M710 rev 3 presso
l’autorevole Istituto Element Material Technology.
Sulla base di questo successo, il dipartimento ricerca e
sviluppo del gruppo, nell’ottica di proporre al mercato un
portfolio prodotti il più completo possibile, ha indirizzato
i suoi sforzi nella messa a punto di diversi formulati in
fluoro elastomero appositamente realizzati per garantire
il massimo delle prestazioni anche nelle condizioni più
estreme. I risultati non hanno tardato a giungere; infatti
sono stati realizzato diversi formulati in fluoroeslastomero
in grado di garantire, grazie ad una glass transition del
polimero utilizzato inferiore a -40° C, una capacità di
tenuta al di sotto dei -50° C.
Anche in questo caso il piano di investimenti approvato
prevedeva la qualifica del materiale per applicazioni RDG
(Rapid Gas Decompression); quindi si è provveduto a
inviare tutti materiali sviluppati presso l’istituto Element
con lo scopo di sottoporli al test molto rigido della
specifica ISO 23936-2:2011 ottenendo in tutti i casi il
rating massimo 0000.
L’obiettivo ora è lanciare sul mercato un prodotto per
basse temperature in grado di
oltrepassare i limiti richiesti
dalle specifiche del settore e
proporre così un prodotto
che mira ad essere il punto di
riferimento del mercato.

NEW MATERIAL GENERATION
FOR ARTIC TEMPERATURES
T
he discovery and the exploitation of new hydrocarbon
deposits in extreme and not welcoming environments such
as for examples artic seas or the extreme Siberian North,
where the minimum Temperatures reach easily -50°C, has led
Oldrati Group to finance an investment plan aimed to realize
materials for low and very low temperatures, able to face and
satisfy what prescribed by the Norsok M710 rev 3 / ISO 239362:2011 specification.
Oldrati Group project has involved particularly its Research & Development Team in the oil & gas field and in the application of
technopolymers, based on the formulation competences skilled over
the 50 years of activities. Oldrati has been able to achieve the product OLD REX ICE, an elastomeric last generation perfluorinate
compound that obtanied the Norsok M710 Rev 3 qualification at
the renowned Element Material Technology Institution.
Starting form this success, the Research & Development team, in
the perspective to propose to the market a product portfolio as much
complete as possible, has addressed its efforts to set up different for-

mulations in fluorinate elastomers realized on pourpose to guarantee the best performances even in the most severe conditions.
Results have arrived quickly; in fact, Oldrati realized different fluorinated elastomers able to guarantee, thanks to a polymer glass
transition lower than -40°C, a sealing capacity below -50°C.
Also in this case the approved investment plan included the material qualification for RDG application (Rapid Gas Decompression);
therefore all the developed materials have been sent to the Element
Institute with the purpose to submit them to the very severe testing
loops prescribed by ISO 23936-2:2011
norm. In all the cases the compounds
achieved the maximum positive rate
0000.
The target now is to launch on the
market a low temperature product
able to overcome the limits required by
the specific field norm and to propose
in this way a product aiming to be the
market point of reference.

It is a portal in constant update that proposes daily news related to the company, indicators about new products and their application, company videos and all that information which allow old and new customers to regularly evaluate activities and changes
inside our big Group.
It is interactive and very shortly there will be the implementation of dedicated channels for customers and suppliers to guarantee
a more direct and quick relationship with all the uses. The web site structure is very intuitive: on the homepage, besides the other
informative areas (especially last news and products), there are some focuses that tell us something about the company: its pulsing
heart, the Advanced Innovation Team and the main fields in which the company is active, all information that you can find also in

In the section dedicated to the company you can find Oldrati history, from the
foundation to the development, from the acquisition of new companies to the
generational change, but you can also get deeply in the values on which Oldrati
bases its activity and, finally, the company policy focused on a strong attention

By exploring horizontally the menu bar, you can first meet the companies the

he works in progress in two of the plants make easy
understandable that for Oldrati Group, the company
evolution and the continuous growth are essential.
We are speaking about the Slovakian plant in Humenné, where
we are facing a further enlargement of 3.500 square meters,
subsequent to the already completed work done on 2013, where a
new pavilion of 5.000 square meters was built inside its industrial
site.
The new area will contain the extrusion line (Tech Extruded
Division): it will be a strongly technological space with last
generation machineries and devices. Qualified personnel has
already been assigned to train the operators dedicated to this
new department. Furthermore, within the pavilion, there will
be new areas dedicated to the assembling operations and the
molding department will be strengthened up.
In addition, plant 4 Oldrati Italy in Adro is enlarging. A new space
is in construction and, at the end of the work, the plastic molding
division and a special compound completely air-conditioned will
be doubled.
Different investments have been done in all plants of Oldrati
Group, such as, for example, in Oldrati Kauçuk turkish plant,
where a new tooling department has been realized: in such a
new area, specific devices for tool maintenance took place
and this space will be enlarged within the beginning of 2016.
Furthermore, this recent development, thanks to the good work
done, has forced the Management to a reconsideration of the
initial foreseen budget, because the exigency to enlarge the
Rubber Business Unit molding area was needed.

Forti investimenti sono stati pianificati anche nei altri plants
italiani, come ad esempio presso Silital Europe dove sono state
inserite nuove presse per stampaggio LSR e nuove linee di
estrusione, oltre che al potenziamento di tutta la filiera, con un
occhio di riguardo ai processi ed alla tecnologia utilizzata nella
fase di production inspection.
Inoltre, presso la divisione plastica del plant 4, è in corso
l’ampliamento del reparto stampaggio con l’inserimento di
macchine completamente elettriche, tavole rotanti con biiniezione in grado di produrre articoli tecnici innovativi.
Un altro indice di espansione è l’inserimento del Gruppo della
SATIG, azienda leader nel settore della rettifica, sbavatura,
vagliatura e trattamento superficiale di articoli in gomma. Tra le
varie attività, Satig si occupa anche di siliconatura, molicottatura
e posizionamento di materiali atti alla riduzione del coefficiente
di attrito. Una nuova società che completa ancor di più il ciclo
produttivo di Oldrati.
Una linea operativa ben chiara quella di questo grande Gruppo,
che vede ampliamenti ed acquisizioni continue, per rimanere
al passo con i tempi e per soddisfare sempre meglio le esigenti
richieste dei suoi clienti.
Big investments have been planned also in the other Italian sites,
such as for example Silital Europe where new press machines
for LSR molding and new extrusion lines have been positioned,
beside the strengthen of the whole productive spinneret, with
a special attention to the production processes and to the used
technology in production inspection phase.
Furthermore, in the plastic division in plant 4, an enlargement
of the molding department by introducing new machines fully
electric and rotating tables with double injection able to produce
innovative technical articles is ongoing.
Another expansion index is the integration into the Group
of SATIG, a company leader in the field for operations like
grinding, deburring, sieving, mollicote treatment and positioning
of materials able to reduce the friction coefficient level. A new
company that completes even more Oldrati production cycles.

come per il Gruppo Oldrati è fondamentale l’evoluzione
aziendale e la continua espansione.
È il caso del plant slovacco di Humenné che sta affrontando un
ulteriore allargamento di 3.500 mq, che fa seguito a quello dello
scorso 2013, in cui un nuovo padiglione di 5.000 mq ha preso
forma all’interno della sua area industriale.
Il nuovo spazio ospiterà la divisione estrusi (Tech Extruded
Division): sarà un’area fortemente tecnologica con attrezzature
e macchinari all’avanguardia. Personale qualificato, è stato
già incaricato della formazione degli addetti destinati a questo
nuovo reparto. Inoltre saranno allestite al suo interno nuove aree
dedicate all’assemblaggio e sarà potenziato il reparto stampaggio

Si sta costruendo uno nuovo spazio che a fine lavori vedrà
raddoppiata la zona stampaggio plastica ed un magazzino
mescole completamente climatizzato.
In generale, numerosi investimenti sono stati effettuati in tutti
i plant dell’Oldrati Group; come ad esempio in quello turco
dell’Oldrati Kauçuk in cui è stato predisposto un nuovo reparto
tooling, all’interno del quale hanno preso posto attrezzature
specifiche per manutenere gli stampi e che verrà ampliato ancora
entro l’inizio del 2016. Inoltre, questo recente insediamento,

economica per la città di Humenné.
l 2014 è stato un anno rilevante per il Gruppo Oldrati che nel
suo 50° anno dalla fondazione si è visto premiato ben due
volte, sia come miglior fornitore da un cliente storico come
Electrolux (ormai sono 25 gli anni di collaborazione), che come
punto di riferimento economico per la città slovacca di Humenné
in cui si sta sempre più ingrandendo la Oldrati Slovensko.
Andando per gradi, lo scorso Novembre, a Stoccolma, si è
svolta la manifestazione Electrolux Supplier Award 2014 in cui
36 aziende, scelte tra più di 3.000 fornitori di tutto il mondo,
si sono contese i primi posti di 12 diverse categorie. Tra i tre
candidati della categoria “Supplier Excellence Europe”, è
stato eletto vincitore il Gruppo Oldrati. C’è stata riconosciuta
la superiorità operativa nello sviluppo del prodotto, oltre alla
grande competitività di prezzo, all’eccezionale qualità, all’ottima
catena di approvvigionamento, nonché alla massima cura per le
pratiche sociali ed ambientali.
“Una grandissima soddisfazione che corona l’impegno, la
dedizione al lavoro e soprattutto la cura costante e l’attenzione che
riserviamo indistintamente a tutti i nostri clienti, sia quelli storici

Un altro premio era arrivato poco tempo prima a Humenné
durante la celebrazione del “Giorno dei Ricordi”, ricorrenza
annuale legata alla guerra passata. La nostra azienda ha ricevuto,
direttamente da Jan Richter, Ministro del Lavoro della Repubblica
Slovacca, l’importante riconoscimento di rappresentante
d’eccellenza economica della città di Humenné. Questo premio,
accompagnato da una targa firmata dalla sindachessa Jana Valova,
vuole ringraziare il Gruppo Oldrati per il contributo allo sviluppo
cittadino e la conseguente promozione in patria ed all’estero, ma
soprattutto per il mantenimento dell’occupazione nella città e nei
dintorni vicini.
Riconoscimenti che gratificano e motivano gli sforzi e l’impegno

014 has been a relevant year for Oldrati Group that in the
50th anniversary of its foundation has been awarded twice,
both as best supplier by its historical customer Electrolux
(more than 25 years of cooperation), both as economical
reference point for the Slovakian city of Humenné where Oldrati
Slovensko plant is enlarging more and more.
Going gradually, last November, in Stockholm, the Electrolux
Supplier Award 2014 event took place, there where 36 companies,
chosen among more than 3.000 suppliers, who contended the
first places in 12 different categories. Among the candidates
for the category “Supplier Excellence Europe”, Oldrati Group
has been the winner. This has been an acknowledgement of our
operational superiority in the product development, beside the
great price competitiveness, the excellent quality, the optimized
supply chain structure, and the maximum care for the social and
environmental practices.

Another prize arrived a little bit earlier in Hummené during the
celebration of the “Memory Day”, yearly event linked to the war.

NUOVO DIPARTIMENTO PER UNA QUALITÀ DEL
PRODOTTO GARANTITA.
L
’obiettivo zero difetti sul prodotto venduto è da sempre
un argomento topico nelle fabbriche del Gruppo
Oldrati. Nell’ottica del miglioramento continuo e del
raggiungimento del suddetto scopo, durante il 2014 è stato creato
un centro tecnologico all’interno del Plant n.4 di Adro.
1.200 mq dedicati all’ispezione e controllo dei prodotti
automotive, allo scopo di aumentare il monitoraggio dei processi
di produzione per ottenere una qualità totale assicurata nel tempo.
All’interno di questo spazio nuovo, completamente climatizzato,
si trovano due aree ben definite, una dedicata al controllo
tridimensionale, totalmente automatizzato, ed una a quello visivo.
Nella prima zona vengono utilizzate moderne attrezzature di
controllo con tecnologia visiva 3D che garantiscono una qualità
del 100% sui pezzi finiti. Tali apparecchi ottici tridimensionali,
in grado di rilevare difetti estetici e dimensionali anche di tipo S
e CS, sono collegati ad un sistema di controllo computerizzato,
che ispeziona più pezzi al secondo, in cui è possibile impostare

parametri di tolleranze che coprono una vasta gamma di esigenze
di mercato.
Il funzionamento di queste macchine si basa sull’applicazione
di differenti principi fisici collegati alla rifrazione della luce;
ciò significa che i controlli di visione artificiale connessi con
questo tipo di tecnologia sono in grado di indicare all’operatore
anche il più piccolo difetto, garantendo quindi un prodotto finito
assolutamente ineccepibile.
Dopo i controlli automatici, nella seconda area, il personale
addetto esegue successive ispezioni visive. Lo scopo di
quest’ulteriore controllo è quello di valutare e verificare la reale
efficacia delle macchine.
Anche l’attività di imballaggio è effettuata con i criteri di
eccellenza. I pezzi, infatti, sono confezionati in modo da evitare
contaminazioni durante la cernita automatica.
Perfezione garantita quindi, all’interno di questa nuova divisione,
di cui il Gruppo Oldrati va particolarmente fiero.

he target to achieve zero defects on the product has always
been a topic within the different plants of Oldrati Group. In
a perspective of constant improvement and achievement of
the above-mentioned goal, during 2014 a technological center in
Plant nr 4 Adro has been created: 1.200 square meters dedicated
to inspection and checking of automotive articles with the target
to increase the supervision of the productive process to achieve
a total assured quality in time. Inside this new department,
completely air-conditioned, there are two different spaces, one
dedicated to the three-dimensional checking, fully automated,
and the other to the visual inspection.

The functioning of these machines is based on the application
of different physical concepts linked to the light refraction; this
means that the artificial visual controls, linked to this kind of
technology, are able to show to the operator also the smallest
imperfection, giving in this way a finished product absolutely
free of defects. After the automatic checking, in the second
area, the dedicated personnel carries out the subsequent visual
inspections. The aim of this further control is to evaluate the real
effectiveness of the machines.
In the first area, there are modern checking devices with visual
3D technology, which grant 100% quality on finished products.
Such three-dimensional optical machines, able to detect esthetic
and dimensional defects also type S and CS, are linked to a
computerized control system that inspect many parts per second
In addition, the activity of packaging is carried out based on the
criterion of excellence. Parts are packed in such a way to avoid
contamination during the automatic sorting.
Perfection is guaranteed indeed inside this new division for
which Oldrati Group is particularly proud of.
