HOW to REACH LIUC
LIUC is located close to the Italian lakes, within easy reach of Milan, Italy's business
capital and the Malpensa International Airport.
You can reach us:
1) By Train
From Milano Malpensa Airport
Arriving at Malpensa you will need to take the “Malpensa Express” train (from the arrivals
hall take the escalator one floor down).
Trains from Malpensa leave every 30 minutes (departures from MXP at 23 and 53
minutes past the hour) and do not stop at Castellanza, but at two other stations nearby:
Busto Arsizio and Saronno. The journey will take at least 1 hour because of connection
times.
You have two options:
- stop at Busto Arsizio (first stop after Malpensa)
From here you take the regional train to Milano Cadorna (departure at 58 minutes past
the hour) and get off at the first stop, Castellanza.
- stop at Saronno (second stop after Malpensa)
From here you take the regional train to Novara (departure on the hour) and after two
stops you are in Castellanza.

From Milano Linate Airport
The Linate Airport is around 2 hours from Castellanza by public transport
Arriving at Linate you will need to take the bus to Milano Stazione (departures every 30
minutes).

Once in Milano Stazione Centrale, follow the instructions below.
From Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport
The Orio al Serio Airport is located in the city of Bergamo, around 2h30 from Castellanza.
Arriving at Orio al Serio you will need to take the bus to Milano Stazione Centrale
(departures every 30 minutes).

Once in Milano Stazione Centrale, follow the instructions below.
From Milano Central Station (Stazione Centrale)
Arriving at the Milano Stazione Centrale, take the escalator down to the metropolitana,
and take the Green Line to Cadorna Station (five stops - Gioia, Garibaldi F.S., Moscova,
Lanza, Cadorna). Be careful to follow the underground map you find in the train as no
announcements are made on board.

When you reach Cadorna Station you take the Novara train to Castellanza (departures

From Milano Cadorna Station
Cadorna Station is reachable by the Red (1) and the Green (2) metropolitan lines and by
the LeNord railways.
From Cadorna you take the Novara train to Castellanza (five stops - Milano Nord
Domodossola, Milano Bovisa, Saronno, Rescaldina, Castellanza).

From Castellanza Station to the University
The Castellanza train station has changed location: it is now between Via Morelli and Via
Kennedy. The station in Piazza XXV Aprile is closed.
A free shuttle service is available from Monday to Saturday. The shuttle stops at the
University (Stop - Piazza Castegnate). Check the timetable at this link:

2) By Car
From Milan
Castellanza has its own motorway exit on Motorway A8 Milano-Laghi. You proceed on the
Motorway A8 for 18km and take the exit CASTELLANZA. You will go through two
roundabouts on Via Saronnese.
Then proceed on via Saronno, extension of via Saronnese, and take a sharp right
immediately and go straight on until you come to a junction. (You may also park in the
public car park here and take the steps opposite up to the main entrance.) Turn right again
and you will see the University car park on the left. The University Administration Buildings
are on the upper level and there is an underpass from the car park that connects to the
main site.
From Milano Malpensa Airport
Castellanza has its own motorway exit on Motorway A8 Milano-Laghi. To reach the
Motorway, you follow the Strada Statale 336 (SS336) for 10 km then proceed on the
Motorway A8 for 18km and take the exit CASTELLANZA. You will go through two
roundabouts on Via Saronnese and on via Saronno, extension of via Saronnese, and take
a sharp right immediately and go straight on until you come to a junction. (You may also
park in the public car park here and take the steps opposite up to the main entrance.) Turn
right again and you will see the University car park on the left. The University
Administration Buildings are on the upper level and there is an underpass from the car

3) By Taxi

2 Campus - Piazza Soldini 5, 21053 Castellanza (VA) Halls of Residence/Hotel
Dall’uscita dell’autostrada A8 procedi in Via Saronnese e continua su Via Saronno
Alla quarta rotonda svoltare subito a destra in via Giacomo Binda e proseguire dritto fino
allo stop. Girare a destra e l’ingresso al campus è sulla sinistra, dopo l’edicola. Entrare e
proseguire diritto fino in fondo.
