Sincerely, The Scientific Board About the Journal AIDA Informazioni: Rivista di Scienze dell’Informazione is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles related to Information Science, Document Management, Knowledge Organization and Computational Linguistics. AIDA Informazioni was founded in 1983 as the official journal of the Associazione Italiana di Documentazione Avanzata. Until 2010 (latest issue Number 3/4) it was published quarterly both in paper (ISSN 1121-0095) and in digital format (ISSN 1594-2201). In February 2014 the journal was acquired by the Laboratory of Documentation of the University of Calabria and it will continue to be published half-yearly. AIDA Informazioni is inserted in the list of scientific journals compiled by ANVUR (Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del Sistema Universitario e della Ricerca), the Italian agency for research evaluation, for the competition areas 10 - Sciences of Antiquity, Philology, Literature, History and Arts; 11 - Historical, Philosophical, Pedagogic and Psychological Sciences; 12 - Juridical Sciences; 14 - Political and social sciences), as well as in the list of scientific journals provided by the French agency AERES (Agence d’évaluation de la recherche et de l’enseignement supérieur) for the field Information and Communication Sciences. AIDA Informazioni publishes original articles concerning information and Document management by extending its interest to related disciplines such as Knowledge management, Terminology, Corpus linguistics, etc., in order to promote interdisciplinary studies and cooperation and dialog among professional profiles having different but interlinked competences. Papers could focus on theoretical issues, on methodological aspects and results obtained in research project activities, on the definition of original and innovative approaches, on state of the art presentation, etc. Concerning publication ethics, AIDA Informazioni refers to the COPE (Committee On Publication Ethics) Guidelines (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines). Editorial Guidelines Papers must not exceed 15 pages, including figures, tables, abstracts and bibliographic references. The respect of editorial guidelines is a mandatory requirement for paper acceptance. It is the author's responsibility to ensure that their paper does not contain any errors. Peer-review Papers will be evaluated according to double blind peer review system: papers received by the scientific committee will be sent anonymously to two referees, identified by considering their proved competence and experience in the topic of the submitted paper. To this purpose, authors are required to specify the main topic which their papers deal with. Referees’ notification could be: positive; positive with request of modifications; negative. In case of opposing opinions between referees, the final decision will be taken by the scientific committee. Criteria for the papers’ evaluation are: Clarity Originality and innovativeness Completeness and coherence Knowledge of literature Quality of research Implications and new insights for information science research and its application Relevance to the established themes/topics Authors will be informed in any case. Papers taken in consideration for publication and handed back to the authors for reworking must be sent in their final version in MS-Word format. If the number of accepted papers exceed the maximum number of articles established for a given issue, they will be published in the following one. Accepted papers will be published in paper format by Aracne Editrice and in open access format by Casalini Digital.
