Drass Tecnologie Sottomarine Guide Wire Shock Absorber System - Mk1 FD30-Diving Equipment DS.HS.011 Description The Guide Wire Shock Absorber system design is a property of Drass, aimed to allow the vessel to perform the diving operation in more difficult sea status, i.e. with higher significant wave. The principle of the shock absorber system is to reduce the pick loads, and consequently the stress and the fatigue on the handling system and on the ship structure where handling system is connected. Main Components are: 1. Hydraulic piston : it is a double chamber single effect piston. 2. Sheave : running wire sheaves for a ø22 steel wire rope 3. Accumulator : 2 separate hydraulic accumulator packs (3 bottles each pack) to supply the pressure to oil side of the piston. The shock absorber system in intrinsically provided with the necessary redundancies required by DNV. The whole system is certified by DNV – Lifting Appliance Department. Picture 1.
