Benaco Gardens and An
Itinerant Dinner Before Autumn
n September, Salò celebrates flowers and flavours. It
does it with its «Benaco Gardens» event, whose 8th
edition will be held on Saturday, the 12th and Sunday,
the 13th September, from 9 a.m. until sunset, on the
Zanardelli lakefront. It will be an impressive show market
which for two full days is going to transform the lakefront
and piazza della Vittoria into an extensive garden. Visitors
will stroll surrounded by exquisitely scented air and flowers
of every shape and colour selected by flower growers from
all over Italy. The event will also offer an opportunity to
meet in person dozens of specialized nurserymen, who will
not limit themselves to showcasing and selling their
products, but will mix and mingle with visitors, ready to
answer any question with kindness and professionalism.
The exhibition layout is not left to chance: the lakefront's
striking beauty and the botanical varieties on display
complement one another.
On the forefront are Garda’s citrus plants, symbol of an
ancient tradition at the origins of Salò liquor industry and
its renowned factories that once produced cedar water.
There will also be olive trees, another symbol of this land
and a thousand garden flowers and trees, fruit trees, garden
furniture and books. As far as flavour, instead, organisers
are assembling a tasting tour that meanders through the
shopping district from the lakefront between autumn
flavours and echoes of the Magnificent Homeland, amid the
splendour of Salò's historical centre. The town too has put
on the schedule a great culinary event for the 15th
September, the first edition of «Salò in Tavola». It consists in
an itinerant dinner leading participants, between one bite
and the other, through a designated path traversing the
town centre to the lakefront, to discover flavours of the
regional cuisine, as well as the best local products and
wines. Along the way, gourmands in attendance will be
entertained by exhibitions by street artists and good music.
The event involves local restaurants, taverns, oil mills, bars
and pastry shops. By purchasing a euro 30 coupon, each
participant will take part in a tour involving 15 stops
delighted by food and wine. The tour starts at 7:30 p.m., and
ends at midnight. In case of rain, it will be postponed to the
following days, with the same timetable. Information

The Celebration With 100 Garda Associations
a not-to-miss event at the lakefront
■ On Sunday, the 27th September, from dawn till dusk, the
Salò lakefront will serve as the stage of the «100
Associations» event, a celebration to salute Garda and
Brescia volunteerism.
About 100 associations operating in the social, civil
protection, sport, environmental protection and other
sectors will be present with their own stands and operators
to tell their stories to the public and propose shows and
demos.

■ Domenica 27 settembre, dall’alba al tramonto, il
lungolago di Salò ospita la rassegna «100 associazioni». Si
tratta di una grande vetrina del volontariato gardesano e
bresciano in genere.
Un centinaio di associazioni che operano nel sociale, nella
Protezione civile, nello sport, nella tutela dell'ambiente e in
altri settori saranno presenti con i propri stand e i propri
operatori per raccontarsi al pubblico e proporre spettacoli e
dimostrazioni.
