PROFILE
The TRH series of Thermogel units are pressurized water temperature controllers with indirect cooling by
means of high efficiency copper exchanger, used in various industrial applications. The TRH in particular
have been made to condition molds in the die-casting sector, as an alternative to the traditional diathermic oil
heat regulation units.

The TRH guarantee the following compared to non
heat regulated moulds:

molded part

A subsequent increase of productivity (+15%)

Reduction of initial scraps (-70%)
•
Longer lifetime of the mould thanks to reducing
the thermal shock (+30%)
•
The TRH offer the following advantages compared to
oil temperature controllers:

More than double heat exchange capacity

Low cost of use
•
No cost of disposal
•
The TRH are equipped with sophisticated electronics
and a particular hydraulic circuit which allow a high
precision to be obtained in controlling the operating
temperature.

The control panel is characterised by a simple and easy-to-use interface with a display for reading the
temperature with large characters and a large alphanumerical management screen.
•
Various parameters and the machine status can be controlled by means of a powerful
microprocessor and the operating parameters and alarm messages can be visualised
continually. All the messages are displayed in the language selected by the operator, amongst the
five available.

Particular functions are available in the TRH:
autocooling: function which controls and brings the machine to a low temperature in the shut down
phase totally automatically
•
automatic venting: fitted as standard in the models at + 160°C (320°F), makes the air expulsion
phase from the hydraulic circuit automatic
•
automatic loading: automatic management of the machine filling
•
time start up: possibility of programming the automatic start up of the unit
•

The TRH can be interfaced with the production machines with which they can communicate. Various
serial communication software protocols are available of the most common brands.
•
All the models are equipped with high performance magnetic drive pumps for the models at +160°C
(320°F) and centrifuges with a special seal for the models at +140°C (284°F), capable of providing the
utilities with flows and pressures which guarantee an excellent temperature distribution.
•
The Thermogel TRH unit is available with heating powers of 12, 18,24 kW by means of low surface load
incoloy heating elements.
•
The Thermogel TRH have been designed paying maximum attention to the safety of the operator and
the process against all possible hazards.

Direct cooling with proportional modulating valve:
Cooling control is carried out by means of a motor driven proportional valve which not only allows the
set temperature to be maintained perfectly constant but also the consumption of electrical energy
to be optimised.
Indeed, the proportional valve, controlled by a microprocessor, allows the amount of cooling water that
flows in the process circuit to be controlled with extreme precision, ensuring that excessive flow (typical
of the use of on-off type solenoid valves), does not require the intervention of the heating elements to
bring the temperature back to the set value (see graph).
ACCESSORIES AND AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT

Automatic air purging kit:
Kit which allows the automatic purge of the air inside the water circuit (fitted as standard for models at
160°C)
•
Timer programmer kit (KTM):
Apart from the delayed start up function, it is possible to install a timer kit which allows pre-heating to be
set with greater precision.
•
Serial interface (KSL):
various serial interface protocols are available to manage the production directly from the machines.
e.g.: ARBURG, DEMAG, ENGEL and others
•
Remote probe (KTP):
external temperature probe for monitoring the process temperature of molds, cylinders, etc.
•
Visual alarm (KAV):
apart from the audio alarm fitted as standard, on request a visual alarm is also available
