Compatibility of V12 SP1 - projects and devices
Upgrade V12 -> V12 SP1
Compatibility at Upgrade V12 to V12 SP1
• No compatible repository of V12 and V12 SP1 projects due to new features
• Projects opened in V12 SP1, can’t be edited with V12 anymore
• When opening a V12 project with TIA Portal V12 SP1 the user will be advised to upgrade the project
• The original V12 project is still available in parallel
• Details HMI
• Panels and RT Advanced remain the configured runtime version (V11 or V12) at project upgrade (ES)
• Runtime Professional will upgraded automatically to V12 SP1 at project upgrade (ES)
• WinCC V12 SP1 allows editing of devices in the runtime versions V11 and V12
• The configured runtime version activate the available functionality of the devices
• Version changes (V11 V12) will be done by “Change device/version…”

•The TagConverter can be used while engineering after

Functionality
•New TagConverter can export the DBs and symbols directly from
the STEP 7 Classic Projekt.
•No need to export each DB using the text printer.
•Several DBs can be converted at the same time.
•Not all tags have to be converted, HMI relevant tags can be
selected.
•One single file has to be imported in Tia Portal which contains all
relevant tags and symbols.
Conversion of tags and symbols only. ALARM_S and ReportSystemError not possible.
