assumersi responsabilità per il 2019
-  Alcuni italiani in ruoli dirigenziali e in commissioni (Antonioli, Coltorti, Michetti, Guerrieri, …)
-  In Italia vasta gamma di siti e competenze per organizzare escursioni (sismologia, vulcanismo, stratigrafia, piane alluvionali,
glacialismo, dinamica costiera e marina, paleontologia, paleoantropolgia, ecc.) e GSSP importanti (in primis Gelasiano)
-  Possibilità che dopo il Giappone il congresso torni in Europa, appeal turistico/culturale dell’Italia
Perché INQUA 2019 a Roma?
- Molti gruppi che si occupano di Quaternario in: La Sapienza, CNR IGAG, Uniroma3, INGV, ISPRA, ENEA
-  Facilità di arrivo (anche low-cost) per stranieri e italiani

-  Possibilità grandi centri congressi, illimitato numero di alberghi di tutti i livelli
Vantaggi INQUA 2019 in Italia
- Valorizzazione del ruolo dello studio del Quaternario per aspetti sia applicativi (ad es. rischi), sia culturali (ad es.
interdisciplinarietà o trans-SSDiismo)
-  Possibilità di rafforzare il ruolo degli italiani nelle commissioni e di divulgare le nostre ricerche sul territorio italiano.
-  Generazione di interesse in giovani ricercatori italiani per potenziare lo studio del Quaternario e/o per stabilire contatti

Problemi per INQUA 2019 in Italia?
- Congresso INQUA a Roma nel 1953 (anche se pochi lo ripeteranno sarebbe la prima volta che si reitera una località)
