OSSERVATORIO SCOLASTICO Service- Municipality of Monza
The “Osservatorio Scolastico” Service comes to life with the main aim of
monitoring and tackling (thus: observing) the non-completion of school in
the area of Monza Municipality, through the “APE- Anagraphic Study of
school-age People” project.
It foresees the continuous update of a database of pupils attending
schools in Monza, as well as children and teenagers leaving in Monza but
attending schools in different municipalities.
Such a useful tool has been of vital importance also for programming and
for strategy, by giving an up-to-date, well-structured and accurate
picture of the context, where educational interventions could be
effectively planned.
Since its establishment, the “Osservatorio Scolastico” service has been
constantly expanding its areas of competences, by acquiring a store of
knowledge, competences and by enhancing its know-how and networks,
in order to become a unique case in the whole Lombardy region.
It is nowadays made up of the following offices: Counseling and Training
Office and Training Coordination Office.
SECTORS and ACTIVITIES
Counseling and Adults Training Office:




School counseling
(advice for accessing or re-entering the school system.
Target: pre-adolescents and adolescents);
Intercultural sector
(Italian courses, cultural-linguistic mediator. Target: foreigners);
Traineeship and apprenticeships
(at the Municipal offices.
Target: university and high school students);
Projects focused on prevention
(from addictions and borderline behaviors).

Training Coordination Office:
Management and planning of educational projects and activities
delivered to schools in the following fields:











Education to a culture of Legality and Active Citizenship;
Physical Education;
Road Safety Education;
Environmental Education;
Theatre/creativity/figurative Education;
Music Education;
Cultural Activities (such as: city discovery, promotion of activities
targeted to schools, delivered by associations and local agencies on
educational and cultural field);
Enhancement of Historical Memory (related to civic anniversaries);
Initiatives opened to citizens
(in conjunction with special happenings and religious celebrations);
Organization of conferences, training courses and seminars devoted
to teachers and educational/training staff;
School at the Hospital (teachers for hospitalized children at the San
Gerardo Hospital - Pediatric Haematology Dept).
