PRESENTATION
Sono-Elastography is an ultrasound imaging technique where low-amplitude, low-frequency shear waves are propagated through internal organs, while real-time techniques are used to image the resulting vibration pattern. When a discrete hard inhomogeneity is present within a region of soft tissue, a decrease in the vibration amplitude
will occur at its location. This forms the basis for pathology detection using Sono-Elastography. The meeting is designed to address the different topics of Sono-Elastography
starting from the physical basis explanation throw the actual clinical applications and
arriving to the future perspectives. The actual general experience on Sono-Elastography is limited and we build the meeting as an occasion of interaction to share the different experiences. A hands on session with different US scanners on different clinical
setting is concluding the meeting.
