EasyCUBE allows importing
quickly, managing smoothly, and
analyzing in real time the point
clouds acquired by laser scanning
instruments, and 3D models
elaborated by CAD and modelling
software.
EasyCUBE treats also large size
point clouds and particularly
complex 3D models. In fact, it
was tasted on 3D models, which
were segmented into over 10.000
layers (each layer corresponds to
every single element of the model).
EasyCUBE computes the real,
horizontal, and vertical areas of all
elements in real time thanks to the
segmentation.

EasyCUBE computes and exports
the transverse and longitudinal
sections of any 3D model in DXF
format. It also generates a model
“cut” along the section planes.
EasyCUBE elaborates pictures of
standard views (top, bottom, left,
right, etc.) and customized views.
In fact, it produces any visual
simulation of the models according
to some parameters, easy to
set (point of view, visual angle,
elevation, etc.). Moreover, with just
few clicks it is possible to record
films with potentialities like video
editing software.
EasyCUBE calcola ed esporta
in formato DXF le sezioni trasversali
e longitudinali di qualsiasi
modello 3D, generando anche una
copia del modello “tagliato” lungo
i piani di sezione definiti.
Dai modelli 3D EasyCUBE elabora
immagini sia di viste standard (alto,
basso, destra, sinistra etc.), sia
di scene personalizzate. Realizza,
infatti, qualunque simulazione
visiva dei modelli in base a
parametri facili da settare (punto
di vista, cono ottico, altezza etc.).
Bastano pochi clic anche per
realizzare filmati con potenzialità da
software per il montaggio video.

vertical areas of 3D models.
Moreover, EasyCUBE allows

metrology methods in the fields
of engineering, archaeology,
architecture, etc.

GeomaticsCUBE is the research and development department of Virtualgeo. Virtualgeo was
established in 1994 to carry on the research and development activity, relating to geomatics,
started by Studio Topografico Canevese in 1985 to support topographic survey, as well as
environmental and architectural designing. The work of GeomaticsCUBE’s computer scientists and mathematicians aims at developing ever more effective and productive software
technologies for surveyors, as well as for sector scientists and designers.
GeomaticsCUBE’s team also includes twenty year experienced surveyors and designers.
They contribute to the software test phases and, above all, the research of innovative work
processes.
