Work in Progress. Nel ‘97 davanti ai primi schizzi
dell’Acquagrande ci chiedevamo quale potesse essere il futuro dell’ambiente bagno. Erano già presenti,
specie nell’arredo bagno, i primi sintomi di un cambiamento, mentre il sanitario, a parte pochi esempi,
pareva vincolato a vecchi criteri tecnici e tipologici.
Chi può negare che il bagno non sia “ casa “ come il
salotto o la camera da letto e che il settore si sia evoluto in direzione opposta? I materiali, i colori, le forme
dell’abitare di fine secolo rimandano ad una nuova
coscienza di sè priva di ostentazione, semplificata, di
cui il bagno è il tempio del sè. Questi, fra gli altri, i
motivi che ci hanno spinti a ragionare in modo nuovo.
Work in Progress è infatti un progetto aperto, slegato dal concetto di serie, una sorta di cerniera tra la
cultura contemporanea ed il mondo tecnico a cui
questi prodotti appartengono. Un grande sforzo per i
professionisti coinvolti, fra i migliori nomi del design
internazionale ed i tecnici dell’azienda, un dialogo non
sempre facile, ma il solo modo per essere realmente
contemporanei, cioè aperti a recepire il mondo che
cambia. Ogni progetto Work in Progress è una sfida
al materiale ceramico notoriamente difficile da plasmare in geometrie rigorose, quindi difficilmente riproducibile. L’idrosanitario come arredo, piccole architetture domestiche che racchiudono una cultura e che
inventa un nuovo mercato.

Work in Progress. In 1997, while looking at the first
Acquagrande drawings, we asked ourselves what
could be the future of the bathroom.The first symptoms of change were already present, especially in
bathroom furnishings while sanitaryware, except for a
few examples, seemed tied to old technical criteria
and models. Who can deny that the bathroom is as
“home” as the bedroom or living room but dispite this
fact, trends have gone in the opposite direction? The
materials, colours and shapes of the ways of life of the
last century bring us to a new , simplified awareness
of ones self, where the bathroom is one’s own temple. These, among others, are the motives that have
pushed us towards a new way of thinking. Work in
Progress is indeed an open project breaking free
from the concept of the set, a sort of hinge between
the contemporary culture and the technical world that
these products belong to. A great effort for the professionals involved who are among the most important international designers and the technicians of the
company. A joint endeavour not always easy to achieve but certainly necessary in order to be truly contemporary, that is, open towards the changing world.
Each Work in Progress project is a challange for the
ceramic material known for its difficulty to mould in
rigorous geometric shapes, therefore difficult to reproduce. Sanitaryware as furniture, small domestic structures that implicate a new market culture.

Geometrical shape without a rigid definition, it is not by chance
that the new line of basins is called Nuda. A new chapter in the
continuing evolution of Flaminia widely acknowledged as being
at the leading edge of bathroom design. Acquagrande gives
the bathroom an architectural appearance. Our new designs
are leaning towards a different dimension, with visual emphasis

Link: una rivoluzione tipologica. Il tema centrale degli
ultimi tempi è stato il lavabo ceramico o in altri materiali
come marmo, vetro o legni speciali. I wc e bidet in
commercio sono generalmente legati alla serie e si
combinano difficilmente. I pezzi Link al contrario sono
progettati autonomi, per completare i lavabi moderni
oltre alla linea Work in Progress. Il design puro e neutrale consente un facile inserimento in tutte le ambientazioni contemporanee, nasconderli non sarà più un
problema.
Link: a revolutionary model. The main theme of the last
period was the washbasin. Ceramic or in other materials such as marble, glass or special woods. The wcs
and bidets of the market are generally limited to sets
and rarely match. The Link pieces, on the contrary,
are independently created to complement modern
washbasins as well as Work in Progress basins. The
pure and neutral line easily fits into all contemporary
surroundings, there is no need to hide them anymore.

Flaminia reinventa lo spazio doccia. Tatami è un sistema modulare di elementi ceramici la cui superficie
antisdrucciolo è studiata per consentire il benefico
effetto del massaggio plantare. Oltre alle composizioni base da 2, 3, 4, 5 moduli forniti con la vasca
di alloggiamento, è possibile comporre mega spazi
progettati a piacere. Non a caso il nome tatami ricalca il concetto modulare dei pavimenti giapponesi.
Flaminia renovates the shower area. Tatami, named
after the Japanese flooring concept, is a modular
system of ceramic elements with a non slip surface
that also serves as a foot massage. Further to the
basic compositions of 2,3,4,and 5 bricks, it is also
possible to create custom designed areas.

in cristallo basculanti, può essere composto in molti
modi per risolvere sia problematiche estetiche che

Gli accessori Hoop sono stati disegnati dagli architetti
King e Roselli originariamente per le stanze e le suite
dell’ES hotel di Roma. Tale architettura è stata considerata tra i più importanti hotel di design del mondo. Tutti i
sanitari sono Flaminia Work in Progress, in particolare
questa linea di accessori è stata pensata proprio per
essere abbinata con i nostri prodotti.
Hoop accessories, by the architects King and Roselli,
were originally designed for the ES Hotel in Rome, which
is considered among the most important design hotels
in the world . All the sanitaryware pieces used are from
the Flaminia Work in Progress range and this line of
accessories was purposely created to match them.

la funzione dello specchiarsi unita ad un’idea che
rende gli oggetti unici. Lo specchio Left/Right ad
esempio prende il nome dai due contenitori laterali che
ospita nel suo volume.
The Flaminia mirror collection is a combination of basic
function and new ideas, which make each mirror unique. For example, the Left/Right mirror takes its name
from the two sliding cabinets hidden inside.

Simple è un mini sistema di contenitori e mensole studiati per alloggiare sia i lavabi Nuda ma anche altri prodotti Work in Progress. Sono caratterizzati da una
modularità di 45 cm. che consente di avere il migliore
effetto estetico e dallo spessore dell’anta di 4 cm. per un
effetto monolitico e materico.
Simple is a mini furnishing system composed of cabinets and shelves suitable for the Nuda basins as well
as other Work in Progress products. It is characterised
by components of 45 cm, giving the best aesthetic
effect and by doors that are 4 cm. thick, creating a
monolithic effect.
