La tecnologia COB led scelta da Fotonica per la sua nuova linea di fari a led segna
una grande svolta nel mondo dell'illuminazione. Questa tecnologia è il risultato di
un'evoluzione tecnologica iniziata oltre 10 anni fa con l'introduzione del led nel
mondo dell'illuminazione.
I prodotti COB led su cui punta la Fotonica sono principalmente due: la linea SLM
serie GEN3/GEN4 della Philips e la linea VERO di Bridgelux. Queste due aziende
sono sicuramente i leader in questo settore di prodotti.
Vediamo ora di analizzare tutti gli effettivi vantaggi di questa tecnologia rispetto alle
lampade a scarica più evolute.
The choose of Fotonica Srl for the COB Led Technology for the new series of Led
spotlights and downlights marks an important development in the Lighting field.
Led technology is the result of a continuous evolution that started over 10 years ago
when Led entered in lighting market.
Fotonica stares mainly at two COB Led products: PHILIPS series SLM GEN3/GEN4
and VERO series of Bridgelux. For sure these two brands are leaders for these
products type. Lets analyse the real advantages if this technology in confront of the
last advanced discharge lamps.
• Efficienza energetica
Il primo vantaggio in assoluto è l'efficienza del COB rispetto a qualsiasi altra
tecnologia tradizionale in termini di luminosità comparata al consumo. Questo
ovviamente si ripercuote sul risparmio dei costi di gestione, oltre che al ben
noto vantaggio di risparmio energetico in difesa dell'ambiente. Osservando le
prestazioni vediamo:
• Energy efficiency
The first benefit is absolutely the COB efficiency in comparison with any other
traditional technology in terms of lightness to energy consumption. This for sure will
influence the saving on management costs in addition to the benefit of well known

• Vita del dispositivo
La vita del COB led paragonata alla vita di qualsiasi altra sorgente luminosa è
notevolmente superiore:

The COB Led life compared with any other lighting source is completely superior:

Questo si riflette in un bassissimo costo di manutenzione da parte dell'utente finale
e di conseguenza anche in un basso impatto ambientale per il riciclo dei materiali,
anche per il tipo di costruzione del COB stesso il quale non contiene materiali
pericolosi come le lampade a scarica.
The result is really very low managing costs for the end user and also a lower impact
on the environment connected to materials recycling and to COB manufacturing
itself that doesn’t contain dangerous materials on the contrary of discharge lamps.
• Qualità della luce
La tecnologia COB permette di raggiungere rese cromatiche abbinate ad alta
efficienza energetica non raggiungibili da qualsiasi altra tecnologia tradizionale:

COB technology permits to combine chromatic rendering together with high energy
efficiency that any other standard technology could reach:

La qualità della luce in termini di resa cromatica esalta la percezione e la
distinguibilità dei colori con conseguente minor affaticamento della vista e
maggiore capacità dell'osservatore di cogliere le finezze cromatiche di un oggetto.
Queste prestazioni sono particolarmente interessanti nelle installazione di vetrine,
negozi e centri commerciali. Inoltre i COB hanno una stabilità nel tempo della luce
e dei colori pari al 70% a fine vita di 50.000 ore, mentre una lampada a scarica a
fine vita di 12.000 ore può presentare alterazioni superiori al 50%.
The quality of light in terms of chromatic rendering exalts the feeling and the
difference of colours with less eye wearying and a better attraction of clients
towards chromatic particularities of an object. These performances are particularly
interesting for installation in windows display, retails and shop malls. Morover during
times COB modules have a stability of light and colours equal to 70% at their end
life time of 50.000hs, on the contrary of a discharge lamp that at the end of its
12.000hs life time can have more than 50% alterations.
• Dimensione della sorgente
Il COB è molto compatto e questo permette di realizzare fari di tutti i tipi: spot con
angoli molto stretti, fino a 10°, in cui è necessario illuminare uno spazio limitato
con un fascio molto intenso oppure aprire il fascio fino a 45° per illuminare grandi
superfici.
• Beam of the light source
COB module has a highly compact shape and this permits to design a wide range
of lighting fittings: spotlight with very narrow beam till 10° suitable for limited spaces
that need an intense beam or spotlights with widen beam till 45° suitable for big
areas.
• Temperatura di esercizio
A differenza delle lampade a scarica la temperatura di esercizio dei COB è molto
bassa, 70°, rispetto a quella raggiunta dalla lampade a scarica, sulla superficie circa
200°, con conseguenti vantaggi in termini di sicurezza per l'ambiente circostante.
• Working Temperature
In comparison with discharge lamps the working temperature of COB of 70° is really
lower than the working temperature reached by a discharge lamp, that is 200°. This
means important advantages for the safety of all the surrounding area.
• Costo ridotto
A seguito di tutti questi vantaggi la cosa più sorprendente del COB è il costo del
sistema, lampada più alimentatore, questo è inferiore a quello di una lampada a
scarica, quindi riduce i costi iniziali di installazione e di manutenzione.
• Lower costs
Because of all of these advantages the most amazing thing of COB technology is the
cost of this system. Lamp and driver with a cost that is lower than the cost of a discharge
lamp. So it cut down immediately the first costs of installation and maintenance.
• Compatibile Standard ZHAGA
I COB scelti da Fotonica sono compatibili con lo standard ZHAGA, questo
permette una facile adattabilità con riflettori, alimentatori, attacco dissipatore e ad
altri componenti del faro.
• Zhaga Standard compliance
The COB chosen by Fotonica are ZHAGA standard compliant. This compliance
allows an easier adaptability with reflectors, drivers, heat sink connexion and with
other components of the lighting fitting.

Grazie al suo fascio caldo e di accento simile
alle luce delle lampade alogene, MASTERLED
AR111 è la soluzione retrofit ideale per
l’illuminazione spot o generale.
E’ particolarmente indicata per l’illuminazione
generale in ambienti in cui la luce rimane
accesa per molte ore, come pure per
applicazioni in negozi, ristoranti, hotel, in
particolare per gallerie, esposizioni e musei
come luce di accento creativa.
Con MASTERLED AR111 non c’è pericolo di
raggi UV o IR nel fascio, rendendolo invece
adatto anche all’illuminazione di oggetti
sensibili al calore (cibo, dipinti, ecc..).
Ampia compatibilità con trasformatori per
lampade alogene già esistenti. Risparmio
energetico fino all’80% rispetto alle
tradizionali lampade alogene.
Delivering a warm, halogen-like accent
beam, MASTERLED AR111 is an ideal
retrofit solution for spot and general lighting
applications.
It is particularly suitable for general lighting
where the light is on all the time, such as
creative accent lighting applications in
shops, restaurants, hotels, and especially for
galleries, exhibitions and museums.
There is no UV or IR in the beam, making it
suitable for illuminating heat-sensitive objects
(food, paintings, etc.).
Broad compatibility with existing halogen
transformers. Up to 80% energy saving
compared with halogen lamps.
