Research Activity The research activity has been developed, over the years, on several topics, which can be roughly grouped inside the following main and broad themes: • • • • • • • computer protocols networks and architectures computer graphics computer architectures computer arithmetic computation intensive architectures communication, plagiarism and quality of publications electronic publications, new media and readers Currently research is focused on: • • • • computer arithmetic (algorithms and general/special purpose architectures) with special attention on: decimal arithmetic, cryptography and finite fields, representation conversion, elementary operations such as addition/subtraction, multiplication, division, square root, operations for multimedia; computer architectures: special and general purpose, embedded systems, parallel and distributed systems; computer graphics: algorithms and architectures for graphics applications, with particular reference to virtual reality, modeling, virtual scenes rendering, animation, rendering of data; quality of publications: metrics and tools, plagiarism, electronic dissemination and future of electronic publications.
